...you're talking to them on an instant messaging program. I don't mean not replying to simply one or two things you say, I mean when you say like five things in a row and the person doesn't reply at all. It's different if the person is away, but if they're clearly there, I feel like I'm just talking to myself. Of course, this can apply to real life too, I suppose. Anyone else feel this way? Also, this isn't directed at anyone here, just in case anyone might get the wrong idea. It's just something that I've always had problems with. |

I sometimes feel paranoid when I'm sending a lot and hardly getting anything back, but I type a lot, and usually get annoying. |

Most of the time, I get the feeling that I'm over-typing. XD I've had some friends that said they just stopped so they wouldn't interrupt... But I'm sometimes guilty for not answering back after a wall of text. Either I get distracted by something or I can sometimes forget that the MSN icon is bouncing like mad.

I just hate it when they're clearly ignoring you. For example, when you're not saying anything funny, yet every message they respond with for 15 minutes straight is just a pure "lol". Not even an attempt to interact with you. Yet, ten minutes later they'll start spamming me with messages about something and the only response I can think of is "lol", simply because they did it to me. I dislike it when people say hi to you, you say hi back, they ask what's up, you answer, and then that's it. Seriously, why did you start a conversation with me if there wasn't a point? |

I say "lol" even when I don't think something's funny, simply because sometimes I can't think of anything else to say. It may be better to not say anything at all in such a case, though. |

xD, glad to be of assistance. But you never did that. There's a difference when they're trying to think of something to say, and when they're ignoring you. People who just can't think of anything to say to that particular part of the conversation might say some "lol"s, but when the ENTIRE conversation after "Hey" is "lol" from them, it's rather annoying. I've had situations where I give a few "lol"s myself, but never for more than a few messages. I actually had a conversation much like this (It was a little longer, but the example is still valid). Friend: "Hi" Me: "Hey, What's up?" Friend: "Nothing, you?" Me: "Not much." Friend: "lol" Me: "Doing anything?" Friend: "lol" Me: "Huh?" Friend: "lol" Me: "Uh, okay." Friend: "lol" Me: "Yeah so...fuck you." Friend: "lol" Edited by Polantaris, Jun 11 2011, 06:39 PM.

lol But seriously, that's just being a douche. Thankfully I've never had that happen to me. |

The worst part is that that person initiated the conversation. What the fuck is that? |
