Have you ever talked to a hardcore Zelda fan? You'd think every mention of OoT was the second coming of Jesus.

...wait, are you referring to me?
I didn't mean to, no.
Just say Windwaker was the best and we can move on! :D

^No, because the last third of Windwaker was sailing across the entire ocean for those stupid Triforce pieces in the longest fetch quest fucking EVER.

Otherwise, Wind Waker really was great, though.

Nah, Beyond Good and Evil had a really bad one too with those Pearls. You could miss Pearls in BGaE, and end up breaking the game, so I think that might be worse. You need every Pearl by the end of the game to get to the final area.

@The video: Wii always had some decent capabilities, the problem is that it can't go beyond the horrid 320x200 or whatever it is that is the best resolution it can give. You can only do so much with that, because of pixel limitations.

Look at Brawl, that game looked amazing during most of the cutscenes, and really in game too. Only a very few games were able to do it, but that's mostly because not a lot of good developers were on the Wii to begin with.

The thing about Beyond Good and Evil is that you didn't need every pearl. You did, however, need every last piece of the Triforce in Wind Waker. If you're not a completionist, you can simply settle for "enough" pearls in BgaE. The game doesn't force you to bore yourself. Windwaker does. You need a whole lot of pearls by the end of the game, but you certainly don't need every one - just enough to get the ability to launch into space. Having the Pearl Detector definitely helps you out in this regard. In BgaE, you may have to reenter some dungeons, but in the overworld, you are crazy fast. In Wind Waker, god DAMN, do you have a long distance to travel. It's ridiculous.

^Yeah, I'd definitely put Majora's Mask above Windwaker, though again, Wind Waker was still amazing.

When I played it when it was originally released, it was either every Pearl, or every Pearl except for one. I know I was stuck between needing only a few more, and all the ones remaining were insanely difficult to get, so I never beat the game. I don't remember exactly what it was that I had to do, but I know it had something to do with the boat, and doing something like a crazy trick or some crap to get a pearl in a building, and I was never able to do it, so I never beat the game.

It MIGHT have been that you had to get every Pearl if you bought everything in the shop as well. I know that I liked getting all the upgrades, and the last thing on the list was the engine to go to the Moon.
