http://www.newsday.com/news/region-state/blistering-heat-sets-records-in-nj-1.3043738?qr=1 108 Degrees Fahrenheit was recorded. My father said that as he passed Newark Airport, it reported 109. Needless to say, it's fucking hot, even now in the middle of the night. My house hasn't gone under 75 yet, and it was in the mid 80s all day with the AC on almost non-stop. Fuuuuck summer. 30 Degrees is WAY better than 108. Surprisingly though, there was no power outages. Last year when things went even near 100 we had several power outages. I guess the power companies got their shit together from last year, which I'm happy to find out. Edited by Polantaris, Jul 22 2011, 10:54 PM.

I might start a shitstorm with this, but so be it. If anthropogenic global warming is true (which I believe it is), then these exceptional heat waves will eventually become commonplace. Might as well get used to it. |

God I hope not. It was far too hot, people are going to broil next year if it gets even worse. |

This is why I love winter. Summer can go fuck itself. |

Agreed in every single way. It's much easier to recover from freezing then it is for heat. Hell, I'd rather die of freezing in 30ish minutes then dehydrate to death in a desert. |

It was fucking hot today. I had friends over to go swimming, and the pool water was warm. Like, in the 90's, warm. |

I live in the northwest, and this summer has been... rather tolerable for me. It's almost never exceeded 80°F (and it's not uncommon to drop below 60°F during the night), and once in a while it actually gets cloudy, even though that's rare here during the summer. (I like cloudy weather because the sun gives me headaches.) Yay for living west of the Cascades. However, two years ago, it was often above 100°F during August. Lows weren't much better. That was torture and I was surprised that I survived that. Edited by Blaziken257, Jul 23 2011, 01:56 PM.

My Phone's WeatherBug app says that it's going to be mid 90's for the rest of the week. Today is another 100's day, at a whopping 102 right now. When I look at the weekly report, every day for the next week has a high of at least 90, sometimes close to 100 again. Fuck summer. |

I hate summer too for the same reason. It's my least favorite season. I don't understand why most people are so obsessed with it. |

I actually dislike both summer and winter. I detest melting or freezing to death. |
