http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-08-17-new-wii-loses-back-compatibility Ugh, I'm sick of everyone removing BC. Makes buying systems late (like how I want to get a PS3 someday) and replacing it a pain in the ass. |

wait... loses backwards compatibility with wii games? *didn't click the article* Because we knew from the beginning it wasn't going to play gamecube games, meaning no gamecube controllers. This may have not actually changed much, since a lot of players use gamecube controllers whenever possible (especially for Brawl) |

Mai, you might want to read the article before commenting. This isn't about the Wii U, its about a new model of Wii being launched in the UK that removed Gamecube backwards compatibility for the Wii to make it a cheaper price. I don't agree with this either Storm, it's bad enough the DSi took out GBA bc and made it obsolete. I imagine by the time of the 3DS lite they will even remove DS bc and then try to resell us all those games on a next generation eShop. Buying classics is fine, but as long as it's only a side to an already great main software lineup. Nintendo is more than likely just trying to push out as many Wii units as they can before the year is up no matter what they have to do. |

Why would I buy this? Anyone buying a Wii now doesn't care about playing GCN games. |

Anyone buying a Wii now is absolutely retarded. It's near the end of it's life, and has very few good titles for anyone besides soccer moms. |

People will hate this as much as when they removed PS2 compatibility from the PS3. Their excuse? A 10+ year old chip costed too much to keep it in. What...? |
