Monster Hunter Tri was pretty awful. The new monsters were very boring, in my opinion, and the new armor sets were also very ugly. Not to mention the horrible swimming segments...

Then Monster Hunter Portable 3rd rolled around, it improved a bit compared to Tri, but compared to 2ndG it was hugely dissapointing. Armor sets remained ugly, the new monsters weren't that challenging, and they weren't that unique, either. There were hardly even half the amount of monsters when compared to 2ndG...

Now we have TriG announced for the 3DS, and MH4 probably going to the 3DS also. I don't have much against the 3DS aside from a lame library, but TriG will most certainly keep the horrible swimming mechanics, thanks to that nice little analog stick attachment(The PSP and 3DS have the same amount of buttons, you only need that additional stick to make swimming easier...) And in both cases for both games, I don't want to play a MH on a 3DS, at all. The lower screen will probably display a map, and the upper screen, with the gameplay, is smaller than the PSP screen, which nicely fits everything.

I have hopes for Portable 3rd G on the Vita, but that's it. I have a feeling the series will either split into the "core" games, the numbered non-portable ones, and the Portable, far superior ones...Oooor Capcom will destroy the franchise.
They had the 3DS logo after the MH4 video. It's on the 3DS. Hell, I'd prefer the Wii U at this point, over the 3DS.

I could go into a debate over P3rds difficulty but I won't. I've had many a discussions about that with people.

I hope they keep the "Portable" namesake on the PSP/Vita, then it still has a chance, but if they've completely moved to the 3DS...it's over.

For my RL friends and myself, P3rd just wasn't the same for us, but I can understand, and accept, other people liking it.

I can understand not liking it, however the general complaint wasn't that it was different, was just that "LOOK HOW LITTLE DAMAGE THE MONSTERS DO!" and occasionally "THEY DIE TOO FAST!" Both...which were really problems in MH in the first place. No one wanted to take 30 minutes to kill a single Rathalos, sometimes it takes that long with 3 friends it was insane, and the monsters do less damage but they tend to be smarter about their attacks and overall get more hits in (At least from just about every experience I've seen personal or otherwise, people take less damage but they get hit more, and it really evens out in the end). Hell Frontier for a while for me was just a practice in excellence, you'd get mad at yourself if you ever did get hit.

And here I said I wasn't gonna get into it >_> I do good lying to myself.

Hi, I'm: An Innocent Bystander
I like Tri because I can turn the camera without giving myself arthritis in the fingers on my left hand. I'll like the 3DS Monster Hunter because I'll be able to play without giving myself arthritis in the fingers on my left hand. A portable Monster Hunter that won't cripple me sounds nice.

Kachou on!
^It's probably not going to be required.

Zelda Four Swords isn't just a port, it includes all new levels and single player. Still no Wi-Fi, though.

Yeah, instead you control each Link individually....was it really harder to just give it Multiplayer functionality?

@Synth, you have a good point, but you won't even need to worry about that since the 3DS version apparently has a button on the touchpad to instantly face the camera at the monster (Induced a lot of rage on GameFAQs from the "proz").

I'd much rather have a new model 3DS with an improved design. I'm sure we'll get one next year, so we can play all these great games on it without having to use the second circle pad attachment.

I'm guessing it'll be similar to the single player of Four Swords Adventures. Then again, I didn't watch the video.

But if I get a 3DS for my birthday then that'll be just in time to download it when it comes out on the 28th. =D
