^Agreed. 32 tracks was quite a lot back in the day but I really expect more content in today's games. Especially when half of it is just old tracks.

Oh okay. Sorry 'bout that. I tend to take everything everyone says as a personal insult, so it's my bad.

I'll just show myself out now, shall I

If Nintendo would only bring back characters from the three Mario RPG series and put a bunch of them in their sports/racing titles, it would make those games roughly a bajillion times cooler.
I really don't intend to be rude/mean about this but seriously:

This logic really baffles me. You're suggesting something that's basically purely aesthetic. Replacing a character with another one really wouldn't add anything of gameplay value, but would make the game "a bajillion times cooler"? I don't see the correlation. It's not like that would magically fix any issues you have with the game unless the only issue you have is that visual aspect...at which point...what?

Plus, characters from SMRPG were used a total of one time. Metal Mario is a pretty widely used character concept at this point, much more than any SMRPG exclusive character, regardless of copyright issues.

Okay I'm back

Naw, that ain't rude, Polantris. It's a valid point.
Okay, "bajillion" was basically just hyperbole.
Still, Nintendo's got loads and loads of cool characters just sitting around collecting dust- Geno, Mallow, Croco, Bow, Watt, Goombario, Goombella, Doopliss, Grubba, Koops, Kolorado, Francis, Ms. Mowz, Prince Peasley, Faful, Popple, Princess Shroob, Chuck Quizmo, General Guy, Count Bleck, Bombette, Lakilester, The Master, Kent C, etc, etc, etc, etc. I could go on for quite some time but I'll spare you.

Meanwhile, we have Metal Mario...who isn't even a character! It'd be like adding Fire Mario, or Luigi, But Differently Colored!
Why?? It's certainly easier, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
...They did bring back Funky Kong once, though. They get a few points for that.

However, you're right. In the grand scheme of things, it isn't really that important. The core fun of the game lies in the gameplay, naturally.

It's just a little annoyance...but it's one I wanted to address, and not just because I only looked at the characters page.
Aesthetics do matter, however slightly.

I do agree that Metal Mario is questionable. They probably just needed a super heavy weight, which Metal Mario is easily. I mean, how many Mario characters are heavy like that? There's really not many, and those that exist are already characters (Wario, Bowser, etc).

Ohh yeah, I had forgotten about the weight classes. They seemed to be struggling with those already (Rosalina = Heavyweight?).

This inclusion makes a little bit more sense now.

I love how they included Funky Kong, but I really dislike the fact that they gave him, arguably, the best stats in the game and a rather annoying voice. Nearly everyone would use him online, so I stuck to only playing with a few friends just to never see him again.
