Also, any down side to opening the chest we're warned against opening (if anyone's found it that is)?

Also, I don't really like the weird boss key-inserting thing. I understand Motion Plus is the focus of this game, but does it really need to be used for everything? Especially something as simple as a door.
Welcome to why most Wii games piss me off.

"See these motion controls? Look at how awesome they are! SUCH COOL TECHNOLOGY! Dude, dude, you gotta try it out! All the fucking time!"

Motion controls really aren't bad in and of themselves, but every game developer ever forgets that they're a part of gameplay, and build games around them instead.

That's the one. I knew what it did, but I didn't know if there would be a big freak out or anything. I've been afraid to try getting the heart piece at the Lumpy Pumpkin for the same reason. <.<;

I don't mind the boss door puzzles, but the controls for them feel backwards. I keep wanting to spin them around like I would a sphere, but that's not how it works. They dropped the ball with that one. It just feels unnatural the way the are.

Oh, and I got hit by an enemy because I picked up an item and it had to tell me about it and show me the menu (AGAIN). The Deku Baba was in mid strike and I was left defenseless. In that instance that stupid feature actually hindered gameplay.

I got the Lumpy Pumpkin heart piece. It starts some kind of side quest where you have to pay for breaking the chandelier or something.

I did those Lumpy Pumpkin quests today. There are also three I've done on Skyloft that seem like there's more to them, but I haven't figured that out, yet.

I beat it

It cost me a few hours of sleep and it fucked up my back because of those shit controls, but I did it.

Here are some half-asleep ramblings about it, especially the end bits 'cause that's what I just saw.

Oh, wow I loved how I finished the third trial.

It was by far the hairiest, being hit for the first time more or less right at the beginning. My second try I had 13 of the tears and only knew where one of them was (the one I got nailed going for the first time). I was running out of time and knew I didn't want everything hunting me down as I roamed around for the last one, so I went for it and got it without error.

Then I saw where the last one was, on the other side of the map and I only had about half a flower of time left. I found the path that lead to it just as my time ran out and thinking it was just clear path casually made my way to it. I turn the corner and find one of those knights charging right at me down a narrow stretch.

Without many options I just decided to bullrush him and squeezed between him and the wall just as his sword came down right behind me. I couldn't have finished that trial in a more satisfying way. It would have been better fitting if it was the courage one, though.

Now I believe I'm right outside the sixth temple. I also spent about an hour trying to solve a sidequest on Skyloft with no luck.

Which sidequest? I could probably help you out there.

Also, that must have felt pretty damn good, with the trial.

Also, YOU KNOW WHAT'S TERRIBLE??

TRIALS.

WHOSE IDEA WAS THIS

"This trial will test your Power! Your power of running away like a little girl"

I finally figured it out, though.

Also, I liked the trials. They were more fun than the Twilight Realm sections in TP and actually had a sense of urgency. Although the only one I had any problem with was the third. But it made it that much more satisfying to complete.

They were a good source of Dusk Relics, too, while they lasted.
