I don't know how I missed this post before. I did see a Zelda II cartridge at a non-GameStop game store for about $12, but didn't get it. I'm still kicking myself for it. Someday I'd like to get one as well as the NES Zeldas for GBA. I'm also not sure why I never got one back when Funcoland was still around. I still wish I had all the Zelda boxes I threw away, too. Hell, I wish I still had all the game boxes I threw away period. Back when I did it they were just clutter, but now I have a better setup for that sort of thing. |

It occurred to me that Skyward Sword could split the timeline a second (or rather, first?) time. It uses a theory that I heard about a while back that allows time travel to the past while preventing paradoxes. Spoiler: click to toggle I very much doubt this will ever come up since the so-called timeline is such a mess already, but it was interesting to think about. |

I don't think anyone besides Catbread has beaten the game yet so I hope you don't think people are ignoring you. Further impressions: The motion controls are very fun and I honestly prefer them to standard controls. The graphics are gorgeous. Screenshots and videos don't do them justice. Dungeons #3 and 4 are among the best in the series. The swimming controls are horrendous. Fi is possibly the worst partner ever. She has no personality, only says useless crap and won't shut up. And you have to love how she tells you your batteries are nearly depleted and yet they still work 5 hours later. Also it's pretty amusing how Link goes through so much effort to forge the Master Sword with the power of the goddesses in this game, but in ALttP he just drops it off at a blacksmith and makes it even better. Then later he gives it to a great fairy to make it even better than that. Matter of fact, the Golden Sword is the only one that can directly harm Ganon in that game. |

...maybe a little. Anyways I must say that's an awfully funny point you're making there about the sword and its becoming stronger. Also, on the topic of Fi? Spoiler: click to toggle

I'm almost done with the game. I beat all the dungeons and only have the final boss battles left. Thinking about getting the Hylian Shield first though. I wanna look like a true hero! |

I didn't even know the Hylian Shield was in the game until after I beat it. I thought the Goddess Shield was the best one. Had I known I would have tried getting it before the final boss, too. I'd probably have it by now, but I don't look forward to playing boss rush with no potions and these motion controls. They're good enough, but bad enough that I know this will be very annoying. About Fi, I didn't think she was annoying, just boring. Then at the last minute they tried to give her some character which completely falls flat because at that point, who cares? |

Not a problem, surprisingly. As far as I could tell, the heart pickups in the boss arenas are all still there. You can actually get a net increase of heath after some of the easier fights! And you don't have to beat all of them for the Hylian Shield, just 8 or so. And it's absolutely worth it- besides the fact that it's unbreakable, it looks freakin sweet. Kind of funny how what could be the best item in the game is just the crappy old regular shield from Ocarina of Time you can find in a hole in the ground. |

I will agree with Fi being annoying. I find her personality very bland and boring, and most of her dialog is poorly written. I understand they were trying to make her "otherworldly" but they could have done it better. As far as partners go, have we had a Zelda partner topic before? I should make one if we haven't. |

We did but it was over a year ago so go ahead and make a new one. Also this really makes me want the Golden Sword to return in a 3D game: http://robojedi.deviantart.com/art/ALttP-Golden-Master-Sword-211327654 |

http://kotaku.com/5867173/hope-you-like-zelda-motion-controls I don't think I can express "throwing my arms up in disgust and making a number of exasperated noises" through text very well, but I can try! FUCK YOU NINTENDO. FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU I HOPE A MOTION CONTROLLED BALL FLATTENS ALL OF YOU. POORLY At least most people who aren't me seem to like the motion con-bads. (See what I did there!?!?) |
