High five. He's been my main since SF2 Special Championship Edition. It's rare seeing Vega love.
I was always interested in Vega, but could never get the hang of him.
I reaaaallly liked Juri from SFIV, but she's so weak compared toe veryone else ;_;

Capcoms modern releases HAVE been good, though. The company doesn't change its formula up very much within each series. Megaman has been the same basic thing for nearly ever game, all the Monster Hunters are very similar, and same for SF.
SFII has a pretty hardcore following, and going by Synth's awesome complete edition of the HD Remake title, the current online versions of SFII(the HD remake) aren't quite up to snuff with the original.

And by Capcom no less, they haven't even been putting effort into their modern releases.
...
?
I'm just wondering if Dragon's Dogma, Resident Evil Revelations, Monster Hunter series, and the competitive aspects of SF were all lies.

I never said they weren't good, but my god Capcom is so full of shit nowadays. Resident Evil Revelations on the 3DS costs $50 just because it uses a 4GB cartridge, and SF3 Online edition has $5 DLC videos of pros playing. And then there's UMCv3 not even coming out a year after the original and the 3DS Monster Hunter not having online.

A 4GB cart is HUGE compared to the DS carts, though.
NONE of the portable Monster Hunter games have had online play.

...5$ videos though? That's silly, but pros will be pros.

I was more concerned with how they're putting no effort into games these days, not how they're stealing money from us (but that's nothing new).

UMvC3 supports that. I can't say much else because I don't care for MvC anymore and it's a good business decision on their part; it'll sell, they don't care how we feel about that. They still know fans WILL buy it. It's possible EVO influenced their decision on this, but a patch would have been a better choice. Either way, I agree with this one.

MH3G isn't a good example because it's a Japanese game. PSP Monster Hunter titles still sold incredibly well without online play and before Adhoc Party was available; it isn't necessary for them. Not sure when Xlink Kai was first available, but it never seemed like more than 3200 people per region used it for the games. And that was with Portable3rd. Their servers crashed because of it, so it's likely that even fewer people played Portable2G.
There's also the possibility that it will have online play with its localization. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is an example of that, but I'm still not getting my hopes up. Nintendo would most likely have to convince Capcom to do this, though. They did put a lot of effort into advertising Tri.

SF3 vids is just a stupid tactic for more money (I didn't even know about this; lol'd after reading) and Revelations costs more because... well, they are using more funds into using a larger cart. If the extra ~$10 is a real concern, buy the game used. Unless they announced saves not having a deletion option like RE Mercs. Console and PC games have gone up in price over the years anyway; was only a matter of time until handhelds did also.

Still, I don't see how they're putting no effort into their games.

I'm late, but this is pretty cool. Kind of pointless with the 360/PS3 remake though.

UMvC3 is coming out soon because it needs to fit into a release schedule, and it was either now, or for-fucking-ever later. It kind of had to be done.

My main complaint is that it seems to be nothing but a character pack.

Yeah but an entire $10 just for a 4GB cart? That's bullshit. There's no way the cartridge costs that much extra. I bet it only costs $2 more than the default cartridges. By this logic Super Smash Bros. Brawl should've cost $60. It's become painfully obvious that Capcom only cares about money, and pretty much everyone who had a passion for making great games is gone now or doesn't have as much of a say in the company as they used to (like Keiji Inafune).

My bad on Monster Hunter. That's one series I know nothing about. Considering the massive shitstorm I saw people throw, I figured the others had online.

This video is a good testament to the effort they put into their games: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEsjhW8wcFg

And now I find out that Mega Man X is in UMVC3 as an alternate costume for Zero. It would be better to just not include him at all. This is like making Mario an alternate costume for Luigi in Smash Bros. It makes no sense. http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/5038/img0834m.jpg

Megaman X is dead in the series timeline, and Zero has hardly had any chances to shine in the fighting games, not to mention that X and Zero have the exact same weapon sets...It's just one fucking character, go play MvC1, 2, or TvC, Megaman is in ALL of those.

Is there a text version of that review? I'm skimming the video and he is simply bitching about minor things, or things other fighting games lack also.

10$ for a MUCH larger cart is fine by me, oh, wait, I don't buy games at release unless I absolutely want them, I wait for the price to go down...

What does being dead have to do with it? Besides (Mega Man Zero spoilers)
Spoiler: click to toggle
And X and Zero play a LOT different. Mega Man X has nearly 50 arm cannon powers to make a moveset out of.

No.

Default 3DS cartridges are 2GB. So it's not that much bigger. They also plan to use 8GB cartridges in the future. God forbid we start getting $60 3DS games.
