![]() [Preferred Character Designs Contest: 2 way match-up] I'll start things off with a simple design change, but one that definitely impacted the character's future. Wario was originally a "clone" of Mario with slightly different features. As his character took shape and he started getting his own games outside the Mario series, so did his design. Choice # 1: Wario From: Wario Land, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Super Mario 64 DS Choice # 2: Wario From: WarioWare Inc. games ![]() Remember to say why you like the design choice you chose over the other one. While some of the match-ups have very similar designs, there are some that will be a drastic change. Let's go into detail and see which design is better! I'll wait to post my vote and thoughts on each one until we get discussion going. |

I like the design for WarioWare, as it suits him perfectly, but his classic design is what most people are going to think of after hearing "Wario" forever-- games like Mario Kart and Mario Party are still using his classic design, I believe, as well... |

WarioWare Wario, because he looks a little more like his own character, and less like "hey, we need an evil Mario." Also he looks metal. |

WarioWare. Easier to take him seriously. |

All good points mentioned. I myself prefer the classic style simply because I find the "evil doppelganger" character idea appealing. His redesign makes it hard for you to relate him to Mario, although they have gone their separate ways since Wario's debut. His new design is definitely a lot more original though. I'm sure it helped with his popularity as well, I can't picture Classic Wario doing those silly minigames in WarioWare. XD |

Gonna go with WarioWare. Yeahsure, the classic can be iconic, but the second choice has a bit more character into it. Plus, purple doesn't really do Wario any justice imo. Edit: That's what I get typing without looking.

Classic because, well, it's the classic version. I always liked Wario's design. His WarioWare design is good too, though, so this was a hard choice. Sorry if I'm not being elaborate enough, but I'm sure you understand what I'm getting at. |

Your reasoning makes perfect sense, Slash. It's basically the same as my own. The polls are pretty close, but currently WarioWare is the lead. I think what I'll do is wait at least 24 hours before posting another one, that should be plenty of time for everyone to get their votes in before we can move onto the next one. |
