I just had to post this, this kinda blows my mind. http://www.siliconera.com/2012/04/29/worldwide-sales-figures-for-popular-nintendo-3ds-games/ Black/White sold 14.7 million compared to the others? I had no idea Pokemon was still so insanely popular. O_O |

Yeah, Pokemon's crazy popular. I know more than one person who gets Nintendo systems for nothing other than Pokemon >_> |

Black and White are the fastest selling Pokemon games ever, I think. Watch NSMB2 come out and sell more than all of those except B/W combined. v_v |

I can see why they play it safe with Pokemon titles without changing too much of the traditional formula since it works, don't fix what isn't broken. I know that B/W is for DS and there are currently a lot more DS owners than 3DS owners, so I understand why B/W is for DS and B/W2 will be for DS, they are saving their next title for 3DS for when there are more owners of the system. Even so, I know sales are not all that matters but it's still pretty impressive nonetheless. I wonder just how much B/W2 sales will be compared to the original B/W since the DS is pretty much at the end of it's lifespan. |

At the same time, though, why should it even be included in this statistic, if it's not for 3ds? |

Cus Pokemon is that hot. Iunno. Maybe a lot of people bought PKMN B/W and a 3DS at the same time? Not sure if they came out at around the same time or not. I haven't really been paying attention to the 3DS until the Midnight Purple one was announced today... |

B/W have the advantage of being part of a popular (competitive) franchise, being on the DS (not just for sales, but being a portable title as well), and having almost been out for two years since its release in Japan. Plenty of people imported. Plenty of people bought both games. Probably a lot of fanatics that imported both and bought both localized versions. Not expecting B2/W2 to get the same amount love in the same time-span, but it should do well. Maybe. Couldn't care less, but that's a huge advantage over any 3DS title. Especially since the 3DS wasn't released in Japan until about 5 months after B/W, if I'm remembering correctly. Shame Pokemon spin-offs are shadowed by the mainstream titles. A 3DS Pinball game would be fun. Edited by Phanir, May 1 2012, 04:12 PM.

Yeah, B/W was a entirely new generation so naturally it sold better than HG/SS. That and by that point the DS was among the best-selling systems ever (second only to the PS2 I believe? Maybe even more than the PS2?) so the amount of potential buyers was much higher than any other Pokemon game. |

That's pretty impressive, especially considering how long the series has been around and it's still selling like that. I may check out B/W2 after all. |

I still haven't played B/W. Hell, I haven't even beaten SS yet, not to mention various extras in Platinum. |
