The one and only

Am I the only one who thinks drinking (not just getting drunk) is extremely overrated? I never have, and still don't, see the point in it. There are a myriad of other ways to have fun. I'm also far from prudish, if anyone was wondering. And I still don't understand it. |

Yes. As someone with a metric fuckload of social anxiety, a bit of alcohol or caffeine can make me feel a lot more comfortable around people, so that I can actually, you know, socialize as opposed to sit in a corner. |

^How does caffeine, something known to boost anxiety, decrease anxiety? |

The whole feeling a bit more energetic or hyperactive makes it easier for me to just talk to someone since I just want to jump around and do things. |

@Kori, nope, I've never had a drink in my life. I refused my parents' offer on my 21st birthday, even XD |

I find it abhorrent. I've never done it.

I can count the number of alcoholic drinks I've had in my entire life on one hand. The number of entire drinks I've consumed is exactly zero. I already have a bad enough habit with Dr. Pepper, coffee, and tea; I don't need to be adding alcohol to the mix. Although if I ever need to get on a plane, BOTTOMS UP. |

I don't think I'll ever drink either. I just have no interest in it and a number of bad things have happened in my family with alcohol being a contributing factor (including one, possibly two deaths). I know I could drink responsibly and all that, but I don't know what it would do to me. |

I decided from a young age that I would never drink, and to this day, I never have. What's the point? People just get addicted to that garbage, and get drunk over it (it happened in my own family before). I've always viewed alcoholic drinks as mind-controlling substances. That's scary. I guess people drink because they succumb to peer pressure. Weak. In fact, the only thing I ever drink is water. |

^I drink a little more than water, but really only tea as an alternative most of the time. I'll drink a soda on a very rare occasion if it's the only option for something caffeinated and I really need caffeine, but I don't really like it much. |
