Thanks Claire I am doing catch up on the episodes at the moment .

I am only up to series 3 .

I came across the show one night on cable TV here just after half way through the 2nd series last October .

I was intrigued by the show so the following week I saw the promo for the show & thought to my self have to have another look at that show .

After the 2nd viewing I was even more impressed with the drama .

By the 3rd viewing I would have to say I was hooked Very Happy .

Then a couple of weeks later my hubby & I were going away , I missed the show while away.

When we came home the 2nd series had finished .

Then I had to wait till series 3 started , now that has just finished too .

I then started thinking I have to go back to the beginning of series 1 & see the show from episode 1 but to do that I will have to purchase the DVDs to the show .

Well I did that , I purchased the first 3 series .

Now I am well & truly hooked like millions of others Smile .

I am now in the process of purchasing series 4,5,6 to continue my so called fix .

A .

Lisa
Laughing I thought I was a slow one you are behind me in the episodes Laughing

I got so into the show & the characters that are portrayed that at one stage I could of bumped Fenner off my self with a broken bottle Laughing Laughing Laughing .

Then when it came to old body bags I could of turfed her down the stairs too along with the inmates Laughing .

Having the DVD's you get to see all the bloopers & the other bits & pieces then when you see them laughing with each other & having a good time you come back to earth & realize it is only fiction .

But it is damn good fiction though .

I know I'm slow...I just actually got into the show about 2 months ago. Ordered the Region 1 version of BGs. Finally got S2-3 and my region free dvd player, so I"m set. I've ordered the REgion 2 version of S1 and S4 just for the extra features. LOL

While I'm here, is there anyone out there who has the capabilities and the talent to make a DVD for me of all the Helen and Nikki scenes from BGs? I know this is a lot to ask, but I'd be willing to pay for time and such. If anyone is willing to do this, please PM me. Thanks! Basic

I could kick my self this show has been around for all these years now & it took me to 2005 to see it for the first time .

As you would know from reading my posts in this thread from the beginning , I am a straight .

But I do not let that stand in the way of watching the Gay scenes in the show it is all part of the show & is very good drama .

I am not offended by any thing that I see in this show Laughing I have a very broad mind Laughing .

I think that's one of the wonderful things about this show, A. It appeals to such a wide range of people. It's not gay themed, it's not straight themed, it's PEOPLE themed. And the Helen and Nikki storyline is not about being gay, it's about love prevailing. It's about the damned happy ending we all hope for.

You are so very right about that .

Good drama like B G & strong story lines are few & far between so it is great to finally see something that does justice to a lot of things that women face in the world today .

It is also good to see that Gays are treated with respect & accepted for who they are .

I love the show , I love that Scottish accent Smile too .

L S , Thanks for the welcome Smile .

I am well and truly hooked alright Very Happy .

My only problem is being a straight in a gay world in here I am having a bit of trouble trying to understand some of the meanings that are used in the messages Confused .

On top of that I am also feeling like a bit of fish out of water .

It is a little hard to explain , It is like you spend all your life thinking along straight lines then all of a sudden you are in the gay world trying to understand how the gay world thinks .
I mean no disrespect to any one in the forum in saying that .

You ladies are the best you are so honest and upfront with your words feelings and thoughts I like that in a person .

Edited to add because I forgot , Of course B G is the very best Very Happy .
It is No 111111111111111111 in my books , Nikki and Helen have rocked my line of thinking in the straight world Very Happy . I said SIT IN THAT CHAIR

Can imagine it must be wierd to be straight, but not quite sure how that would feel Laughing

This is the only board i have joined actually, to every1 bar ppl on here and my mum, i am straight. I love this board so much, to find somewhere where theres no judgement or abuse is fantastic, before joining this board i had never even written down i'm gay, and having only joined a couple of months ago i can talk about it openly here, and have told my mum mainly due to advice i was given on here, suprisingly she took it very well, infact we are closer than ever, although i don't live wth my mum. I'm 18 and live with her ex-husband, but haven't got the courage to tell any1 else yet, lol the thing thats funny here is that there are rumours going around that i must be closer to my step-dad than that meets the eye Shocked He's my dad i have known him since i was 4 and love him to bits, but jesus some ppl are sick, i wanted to scream at them that i was gay.

Suprised you don't understand some of the posts, stick with it we are here mainly due to are bad girls illness, and there are serveral straight women on here, as long as people are open minded and not homophobic all are welcome. Sophies World reader

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I suppose it is no different to what a gay would feel the only difference is the gender of the person that the person loves & there is nothing wrong with that in my eyes .
I have this belief that we only have 1 life on this earth & every one deserves to be happy in it no matter who or what they are .
This is not a perfect world we live in but as long as I am treated in a respectful honest way I can be friends with any one no matter what race , colour , gender , age , gay , straight , or any thing else any one can think of .
I am not a perfect human being & I don't expect others to be either .
I prefer not to judge others .
I joined this board not because it was a gay board and I wanted to perv on the gay community but because the group here shared a love of Bad Girls like I do .
If I wanted to just perv on the gay community I would never of joined I would of just read the board like a guest does .
If I was homophobic I would not be watching a show like Bad Girls let alone be in a board like this .
I have to say it is a whole new world to me though .
I have found the gay community to be very honest and witty .
The only difference I can see between the two communities is the gender of the person that they love . Every thing else is the same .
L S you have a whole life time ahead of you when it comes to telling any one you are gay just do what you think is best for you .
I know their are a lot in the straight community that can be very homophobic but we are all not like that though and I am not one of them .
As for others thinking you are having it off with your step father just goes to show what small minds they have in the first place .
Don't let them rattle you .
You know your not he knows you aren't & your Mother knows your not as for any one else it is none of their business if you live with him .
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Suprised you don't understand some of the posts, stick with it we are here mainly due to are bad girls illness, and there are serveral straight women on here, as long as people are open minded and not homophobic all are welcome.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well think of it this way put the so called shoe on the other foot and place your self in a board that is mainly made up of straights what would you feel Laughing and that is what it probably feels like Laughing .
I am a very open broadminded person who is not homophobic Laughing . I said SIT IN THAT CHAIR
Think i'd be ok in a board full of straight people lol, they are all around me Rolling Eyes , the buggers Laughing
In fact i know very few gay people, something i'll rectify Very Happy just give me time Wink
If i hear anyone sound homophobic including people in my own family, i really have to bite my lip, it's annoying not having the courage to be open and honest yet! - but one day i will be. It's quite suprising and frightening how many people we know that are homophobic, and the only way i feel i can shut them up is to say "each to there own" or "live and let live" failing that i give them a look of disgust for the ignorance.(i am the straight open mined girl who isn't homophobic to them and they are learning to shut their traps) lol Sophies World reader
L S , Of course you are going to be OK .
As you grow older & mature more with age you will one day stand up & proudly say I am gay & if you don't like it well that is your problem not mine I am what I am and proud of it .
When it comes to homo-phobics their lack of understanding probably comes from their own fear and ignorance .
Heaven knows why they are like that for .
If they just opened their tiny skewbald minds up a bit & had a good look out side of their own little world they may find that gays are just normal people .
I cannot stand seeing some communities discriminated against .
I am on a learning curve in this board .
One of the things that I have noticed is the easy going funny banter between friends , I like that . Laughing . I said SIT IN THAT CHAIR
What can i say other than life isn't always easy Rolling Eyes but the relief i have felt since telling my Mum (and getting a posistive reaction) has been huge, the people on here are fantastic, and i have realised that your not alone.
Why can't all straight people have your attitude? Very Happy Fancy talking to my family and changing the beliefs of very stubborn people. Laughing
Thank you L S that is a nice compliment you paid me Surprised .
All I expect from any one in any forum any where is that they accept me for who I am & treat me the same way as I would treat them and that is with honesty and respect .
In regard to your family it is a shame they have that attitude .
I don't understand why it so hard for some people to accept .
Anyone would think that gays have two heads & come from another planet .
You are indeed lucky that your mother loves you so much that she will not let some thing like your coming out come between you both .
She is a true mother in every sense of the word .
I have heard it said by some gays that when their parents find out they kick them out & want nothing more to do with them which I think is awful by the way .
I have a family and I would never let any thing come between my self and my children .
Straight or Gay we are all the same we are normal human beings .
Fear not Aussie, I lived in the 'straight' world and was married for 14years, until I found my true calling.
The worlds are really not that differencet, as you say everyone just speaks their mind, shares their feelings and are proud to be who and what they are, I'm sure nobody will take offence if you need something explaining for time to time.....
Ok back to the muppet wing for my meds and go and track down my mupper luv....
I love the open way that members on this board have such a good time together and express their feelings in their posts .
Hi,
I am Jules, i'm 27 and from Holland.
Bad Girls has not been aired in Holland, but i bougth the DVDs of serie 1-3 at a recommondation of a lesbian site in Holland. And well, i have not been disappointed!
Nikki and Helen are beautiful and since then i have read a lot of fanfic, loving the fanfic i found here. My favorite has been Biografy by CBG. Especially her quote about a biological healthy heart that can break and is left to endure the pain. Wow!
I am currently trying to write a fanfic and am trying to make a music video. I always like it when i find new stuff and i hope you will as well.
Anything else you want to know, just ask. I'll be around.
Ekny I live in Queensland on the East coast .
Yes they are a pest alright and a damn awful looking pest too .
They were introduced into QLD in the 1930's to help contain a beetle pest that was attacking the Sugar Cane .
It was a total failure in regard to getting rid of the beetle pest .
The only thing they did was go forth and multiply by the millions .
Just looking at them makes your skin crawl .
Well, having never met one I'm not quite so grossed out by them, but the documentary was *very* thorough in representing the whole spectrum: the people who pop 'em under their truck wheels, the ones who keep 'em as pets, the pathetic doper who tries to smoke 'em, the scientists who research them... I understand if there are 85 in your back yard every night it's not as fun.
I have squirrels. I spent at least $750 last year alone trying to get rid of the friggin things. I mean, here I am, la, la-la, living my life, walking to & from work EVERY day, narry a thought in my head about them other than Mm. Squirrel. Cute n stupid.
Well no more, mate. I now have this psychotic aversion to them, really just want to kill them dead every time I see them. If they hadn't cost me so much freaking money & *still* kept coming back maybe my pov would be a bit more pacific. As it is: rodents. Flying rats. Hate 'em on sight. Eliminate species, etc.
So yeah, I *can* kinda identify with the cane toad issue, come to think of it....
Hi everyone!
Hey Aussie, what are you guys feeding your athletes down there? You could leave some bloody Commonwealth medals for the rest of us you know! They aren't perhaps licking or smoking cane toads are they? I am also watching the cricket and starting to get nervous - and I'm not even a sheep! Laughing
ekny, at least they are your own bloody squirrels! We've got your dratted Grey squirrels here which have decimated the indigenous Red squirrel population, so when you have finished sorting out yours, you can come and collect the ones you left here, you can have them back now! I saw a headline yesterday on my Yahoo News browser which said something about Grey Squirrel Curry, I forgot to read it and now sadly the news item is gone, but maybe that might be an idea! They are known as rats with feather boas here, so you might also like to go into the boa producing industry! G 2 rank
Hi Everyone!
I found that news item ekny.
"In a bid to save our native red squirrel Celebrity chefs... are being urged to feature grey squirrel on their menus. Tory former National Heritage Minister Lord Inglewood, patron of North West Red Alert warned that...reds...are being decimated by squirrel pox virus carried by greys & will soon be 'toast' unless the Government acts , he warned as he opened a Lords debate. He suggested one way of dealing with the problem would be to foster a market for grey squirrel meat...He said: 'What about ...promoting it for school dinners? Indeed the House authorities could put it on the menu here' (Yeah I'm sure that would go down well - a picture of Tony Blair with a long fluffy tail hanging out the corner of his mouth!) '...What I would like to do is invite each and everyone of the frontbench Environment, Food & Rural Affairs Dept team to the hotel in the Lake District where I am a director...to dine on grey squirrels to launch an eat a grey and save a red campaign...Don't let's forget that a number of things we eat as a matter of course are entirely loveable creatures & they appeal to the wider world. What's the difference.'
And they have this debate in The House of Lords! Makes you think doesn't it! Laughing
Aussie, I hear the cricket commentator saying that Durban's climate is very much like that of Brisbane - so you are hot and humid are you, with an occasional sea-breeze? G 2 rank
*******************************************.
Hi JAMBF ,
Yes the commentator was right about our climate here .
We have had a stinking hot Summer here this year .
Talk about hot and humid it has been awful .
To try and keep our home cool .
Over the years in our home we have put ceiling bats in the ceiling , tinted all our windows , put ceiling fans in , put adjustable steel blinds on the out side of our windows , put venetian blinds on the inside of our windows .
Up to this point it did help to cool our home down but it still wasn't enough so 2 years we did the best thing of all and put air conditioning into the house .
Now at the flick of a switch we can live in cool comfort . I said SIT IN THAT CHAIR
Hi , JABMF ,
I have no idea what they are feeding them Laughing .
I don't even know how many medals they have won even Embarassed shame on me .
In the last 10 days that the Commonwealth Games have been on I would of watched about 10 minutes of it .
I didn't even watch the opening ceremony at all .
I know I am slack Rolling Eyes
I prefer watching Rubgy League and I don't mind a good game of Cricket when we are thrashing you Pommy Bastar** all over the field Laughing Laughing .
Actually I was rather pleased last year when England gave Australia a good thumping in one of the Test Matches Smile .
I can't stand the smug attitude that Australia gets when they are on top .
I just don't like it Embarassed . I said SIT IN THAT CHAIR
I've been working at Hartford Hospital for 17 years now. For the most part good place to work, just don't fancy the commute anymore. We all make our sacrifices. Wink G 2 rank
Another BG fanatic signing on from the US. I've been lurking for over one month and decided to sign on to the madness. I got onto BG at the start of S2 on BBCA. I liked it so much after one episode that I ordered S1 here in the US, then OWH was kind enough to hook me up with region-free software for my 'puter. I ordered series 2&3 from Amazon.uk and I'm working my way through s3 for the second time. Love this. I only wish, like everyone else, that Shed would have kept our ladies going!!! Smile
My co-workers are all anxious 2 get me back 2 work, but i'm having too much fun with this.
I'd give anything to get rid of the pain I'm dealing with. There was nerve damage done in addition to the muscle and tendons that got torn. It really sucks 'cause I'm very active and this ruined my winter.. no skiing or snowmobiling. Sad
I'm debating ordering series 4-6 for more entertainment. I know the stories are gonna be different though. Can't decide. G 2 rank
I work in the medical field and I was taking a patient for tests and there weren't enough people to transport (damn budget cuts) and I was doing two peoples' jobs. The bed and patient started to get away from me and stupid me tried to save both from hitting the wall and I yanked my arm real bed. The worst part...it wasn't even my patient..i was doing a favor for my co-worker Exclamation
thanks for the advice on the other series Wink
