In love with a prisoner
[ETA: In another stunning executive decision, ekny decided to unarchive this thread. Why? Cause it's got a lot of cool trivia, did not get sidetracked too often, & was something a lot of people seemed to enjoy participating in. So maybe it'll take off again... worth a try. A lot of the links are dead of course, nothing I can do 'bout that.... --6/7/6]

First started on the usual Helen and Nikki board>

Hi

I thought to liven things up a bit around here we could play a game of tag but using a N/H quiz. Basically as played on so many other boards.

Tag 1
Q) In what episode/scene does Nikki ask to borrow some money from Helen? Bonus point if you can remember how much Nikki wants to borrow.

xee

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:09 pm

A
Erm, all i can think of is when N wants money for a cab after her night with H? A tenner i think? So i reckon S3 ep1????

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:09 pm

Spot on. Its from SeEp1. Though no bonus point because she asks to borrow 20 quid.

I love how Nikki totally understates things in this scene. Its like no probs, i'll just borrow Trish's passport, i got the Dusty Springfield's ugly sister wig so what can go wrong.

Oh and if you think of this night from another angle, you could say a night with Helen costs 3,000 pounds!!!!! She doesn't come cheap. Think of how many young up and coming lawyers Nikki could have got for that money

AJP777 please nominate a question for Tag 2.

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:10 pm

Yeah, but money well spent I think!!!

Oh sorry, tag 2 question................??????

Whats the name of the hostel that Crystal stays in at the end of series 2, before she meets up with Josh?

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:11 pm

A toughie but i've since checked my season 2 dvds out.

Crystal stays in the hostel Bishop House

Tag 3 question:
What colour nightgown does Nikki wear in Oh What a Night

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:11 pm

Hmmm was it a lilac colour

*really searching in my memory archive*

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:11 pm

Spot on muffbian.

Tag 4 has your name all over it.

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:12 pm

Yaay i won!

ok....

Tag 4:

What are Sylvia/Bodybag's children's name's?

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:12 pm

Oh yes, the infamous....

Constance, Gayle and Bobby Darren.

Why did Stubberfield have to leave Larkhall?

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:12 pm

Stubberfield was asked to leave because of the whole Shell escape drama.

Just how many times does Nikki get all teary?

Just kidding. That woman can cry at the drop of a hat.

What is the picture on the postcard Helen sends to Nikki in season 2.

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:13 pm

Haha, I was really starting to memorize the tears there for a while...

On the postcard... it's some sort'a queen, right? An old lady anyhow, but since she's on a postcard, I reckon it must be a queen?

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:13 pm

Right on. I have no idea who. Another possible answer is it is a famous portrait painted by some recognised artist.

ElidaKristina you get to post a question now.

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:13 pm

Yay! lol Okay... hm...

The Julies keep a pet in their cell for a while in series 3. What kind of pet is it and what do they call it - both as a male and after they find out it's a female.

(I know, it's real hard... )

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:14 pm

Tinker and Tinkerbella - a cute wee puddy cat!

Next question - Who does Helen rescue up on the roof?

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:14 pm

Zandra and her baby, I guess really only the baby, Dom rescues Zandra.

What is Helen's first line (or word) of the series?

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:14 pm

LOL It's one of the best: "Please Jim, I'm not the bloody queen!"

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:14 pm

Was it to the gate officer? "Do you need id or something"?

I'm not sure if she uttered a "damn" or something close to that while actually stuck in traffic and applying makeup.

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:15 pm

Oh god, you're right of course. I'm so sorry... *blushing over here* Yeah, she says 'damn' or 'shit' in the car and then 'do you need some id or something?' to the guard, that's right.

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:15 pm

I'm pretty sure it's "Shit" at the traffic light, I was just amused by her first line of dialoge for the series, it is somehow appropriate for what's to come.

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:15 pm

Yeah it is "shit" and she even says that sexy lol

Ok next question?

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:16 pm

Which book does Nikki tell Helen is "about a terrible prison"?

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:16 pm

Little Dori?

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:17 pm

Close! - It was "Little Dorrit" by Charles Dickens.

Next Q - what is the surname Nikki gives to the security guard when escaping from Larkhall disguised as a nurse (complete with acrylic blonde wig?)

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:17 pm

Going entirely from memory here i'll guess, was it Ford?

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:17 pm

Yep, well-remembered, it was Ford!

This one is tricky and may require a look at the DVDs! - what number (red London) bus does Nikki get during her escape on her way to Helen's flat?

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:18 pm

just had to consult one of my fav music videos for that answer. Katheryn's I Drove All Night.

The bus number is BYX 176V

Q: How many takes did it take for Mandana and Simone to film the S1 kiss?

There are two answers i'll accept for this one.

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:18 pm

Charles Dickens' "Little Dorrit"
*******************

Nikki Wade: Another day gone Monica. How many you've got left?
Monica Lindsey: Not many I hope. What about you?
Nikki Wade: Roughly...? 3655.

______________

mjnet PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 7:18 pm

Mandana says 16 on the S1 DVDs extras - I think Simone says 17 takes? (just watched that extra yesterday!!)

You got the bus registration but by bus number I meant the number on the top of the bus showing its route - perhaps another excuse to watch that great vid?

Probably an easier one: which university does Nikki study for a degree with whilst in prison?

______________

xnedrabourne PostPosted: Wed Jun 01, 2005 12:08 am

unlikelyheroine wrote:

I thought i had. LOL i had thought it was a weird route number. But then you have numbers and letters in your postcode so i just thought it was a UK thing.

Yes i will just have to watch that video again tonight. Oh what hardship. I think i'll also make a clip of that great escape. I don't mind Nikki in the wig. I think she looks good, but then Mandana is such a beautiful woman i think i'd like her in almost anything and even more in nothing.

Laughing

I am not sure if you can see the bus number in that vid but you can see it in the scene where Nikki crosses the road on the crossing in front of the bus before she gets on it.

I like asking difficult questions I think :D - well any excuse to get the DVDs out I reckon!

It's EITHER slanderising a prision officer .... re bodybag in some ep

OR it's you know, rule 47, subsection 16, being disrespectful to a wing governor .... blablabla. :)

Anyone?

Well, I was interested in the answer to this, so I asked Google - is that allowed :D and it looks like Rule 47 is a "catch all" provision with a lot of different subsections relating to prison discipline and regulating inmate behaviour....!

Another question: what does Nikki keep the two Julies' home brew in while it is fermenting (S1)?

Question: What does Spencer show Monica when they are visiting the first time that he was given and why was he given it?

Why did Helen have to cancel dinner with Sean's parents?

Here's a difficult one which may require DVD rewatching. Which magazine is Nikki reading when Fenner arrives in her cell looking for a mobile phone (which she does not have!) (S2 Ep 2)?

Too tired to come up with anything better than this.

What is Helen's license plate number? It's the same in the first series as it is in the third series.

Sometime in 1997... 9/6/97? or 6/9/97? Or do I have to get the DVDs out again Laughing

Haha you're right... so the DVDs were got out and I can say that it is according to S2 Ep2 (when Helen is wondering about her decision to ship Nikki out): 6/5/97.

Another question: where does Helen tell Sean that can't marry him and she doesn't love him (although he essentially forces her to do it right there and then!)

The suit shop! Is that specific enough? Does it have a name?

Another question?

What does Fenner think Nikki has done when in reality she has been shipped out and couldn't have?

Ha I just watched this one yesterday Embarassed - must stop watching so much Laughing

Fenner thinks Nikki has been calling his wife and telling her that he is having sex with Dockley and in particular, thinks she has either stood outside the cell or planted a phone in Dockley's cell in order that Mrs. Fenner hears Fenner and Shell having sex!

What book does Helen tell Nikki playfully is "a bit hard-going for a no-hoper like you?"

Romeo and Juliet?

"Juliet and Juliet would be more my cup of tea"

Well I am thinking of another scene actually in S2, Ep 6 I think, when Helen comes to the library to find Nikki and tell her she has a new job which will involve working at Larkhall...

What a very precise question you have posed! Guess I need to get the DVDs out again!! Laughing

Good quiz question, two candles on the table.....

In series 3 episode 8, when Karen and Helen are discussing Helen's thoughts of a conspiracy against her, what color are the mugs they're drinking out of and what does Helen's mug have written on it?

_________________

NZ Bad Girl PostPosted: Thu Jun 16, 2005 3:30 am

Karen's is green and Helen has a white one that say "Tea" in blue. I had to go and check my dvds, only I couldn't find the remote. I eventually found it on top of the TV, right in front of my nose. Laughing

Ok, a new question. Umm...

What colour are Helen's toenails painted in the first ep?

So another question... why do the cops let Helen go when she is caught swerving all over the road when taking Nikki back to prison?

I don't think so. But I am rubbish with things like this!

A question to revive this thread: Which author is Nikki talking to Caroline about, in the library, shortly before we see them kiss? Evil or Very Mad

I found it interesting how many times Helen calls Nikki, Nikki, but until the above referenced scene, Nikki calls Helen, Ms. Stewart, Ms. or the Govenor.

No she actually says it before then...when Helen meets Nikki in the library and is looking for Monica to tell her about Spencer...the scene you mention is after Spencer's funeral.

In the library, Nikki says something like "You like a bit pasty, Helen" and then goes off on one soon after because Helen is off in another world and Nikki thinks it's because she called her Helen...

That's when I think it is anyway... :?

_________________

NZ Bad Girl PostPosted: Tue Aug 02, 2005 9:26 am

Isn't that when Helen is hung over? The morning after the funeral? Because the goodbye one was the night of the funeral, after Helen left Monica in her cell and told Nikki to leave her... correct me if I'm wrong. I can't check because my parents are watching Monarch of the Glen repeats (series 3) on UKTV. Laughing

I'm pretty sure Helen was hung over the same morning as the others were, from the "wake", putting the "pasty" comment the morning after the wake. I think she is looking for Monica to check on her, rather than to tell her. Wasn't Monica called to Helen's office where a nun was waiting? If this makes any sense... Sorry, I'm typing as I think here. Laughing

Okay, I'm not sure when Helen started wearing that ring on her right hand, you know the one I'm talking about and if you don't it's the one you can't miss in "Oh What a Night", to me it looks like some kind of engagement/wedding ring.

Now for my question, in what scene (and there's only one that I can find) does she wear it on her left hand wedding finger?

That is very specific! Awesome question. Unless someone comes along who has noticed it before, I may be tempted to go and watch all the Helen scenes again. I really only came across it because I was editing all the Nikki and Helen scenes on to a DVD. Not lost or forgotten, just hard to figure out!

I can only remember seeing a ring on Helen's left hand once, but I don't think it's the same ring as the one you mentioned.

Can you give us a hint for which series? Question

_________________

Obsessed with Helen PostPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2005 4:03 am

It is from series 3 and now that I've review the DVD again, it's more than the one small scene I thought, it goes into the next scene. I know that's not very helpful and I should give you the episode, but that may be too easy. How about if it's not answered soon I'll give the episode? And in both scenes, it is not easy to spot.

Ok, I'm definately going to bed now, I don't want to fall asleep in calculus. I'm already in enough trouble as it is. My friend and I were late for physics and instead of our laid back physics teacher, the deputy head was teaching. She probably wouldn't have minded the truth (we were studying in the library and didn't notice the time) but for some reason we came up with a really creative and intricate lie. We kept bouncing ideas off each other and when we had finshed she asked, "do you have a note? Oh. I will check with the teachers involved then." Oh crap.

I can only spot 2...there might be more, but they all look alike (except for the first one). I'm guessing there are more, but these 2 might help out...

1. Series 1, Episode 1: When Nikki announces the fashion show is back on. Helen wears a double necklace with beads or pearls, or whatever on it.

2. Series 3, Episode 2: The "one look from you" scene. Helen wears a gold one with a diamond (or similar) pendant. As well as loads of other episodes.

No, not the one she wears in the last scene, yes she wears that one more than once. This one is in a totally different scene and when I say totally different I mean outside of Larkhall and not with Nikki and not sitting at the bar watching Nikki's release.
Need more?

Ok, found it. :D It's the scene where Thomas confronts Helen about Nikki in the restaurant and the necklace has three things (hard to tell what they are, gems, pearls, whatever) on it. Is that enough?

How many different paintings are visible during the scene where Helen & Nikki talk in the art room in episode 7 of series 2?

13?

one on the floor when Helen first walks into art room, another one when Nikki and Helen walk over to the table to sit down and then the final 11 when Nikki and Helen are holding each other and talking about getting Nikki out on appeal.

How'd I do?

I counted 17...The ones you mentioned as well as one on the wall just outside the art room as Helen walks in, plus there are 3 on the floor behind Nikki while they talk.

Your turn for a question though, I'm having trouble thinking of any...need more time.

Hey there Red318 you've been very patient.
I know this is an obsecure questions (aren't they all), but how many women's lips did Nikki touch (not necessarily kiss, although kissing is definitely included)?

_________________

Mmm... Can I make a guess? I think Nikki touched 4 womens lips. :D

Patience had nothing to do with it, that evil little thing called work got in the way, so I haven't had a chance to get involved with the boards much, or get my Helen fix for that matter, makes me quite a grump cry:

I had to think about your answer there flump, took me a while to figure out who the 4th woman was :D ...I think you might be right though, but OWH is the only one who know for sure :)

Were you thinking Trisha, Helen, Caroline and Shell? :?

_________________

Obsessed with Helen PostPosted: Mon Aug 29, 2005 2:00 am

It is four as far as I can tell, but I've never seen the Shell one. The very obsecure one I'm talking about is Maxi. If you watch the scene from Series 3 Episode 12 where Caroline is being shipped out and Maxi tells Nikki Caroline's a nounce, Nikki gets in Maxi's face a little too close. I know, this is kind of cheating, but questions are hard to come by these days. If I knew how to down load a picture here I would show you the exact scene.

Next question please.

P.S. Don't let work get in the way of the Helen/Nikki board!!!

_________________

red318 PostPosted: Mon Aug 29, 2005 3:34 am

The Shell one is similar to the Maxi one...I'm talking about when Nikki vaults the serving counter to attach Shell...so I guess the answer must be 5...

We'll let flump come up with a question though, I think we need some new blood :D

As for work getting in the way, I know, I know I should know better than to neglect Helen and Nikki...it won't happen again

You nice peeps, letting me play!! :D
The womens lips I thought Nikki touched were HELEN CAROLINE TRISH AND MONICA. Does she not touch Monicas lips when she takes an overdose? :?
OK, my question. Mmmm. Is Helen right handed or left handed? How do you know? Simone is ambidextrious, but what about Helen?

Sorry if its been asked before, didn't have time to look through them all before I asked it!! Also sorry its a crap question, but I am lacking imagination at the moment!
_________________

Obsessed with Helen PostPosted: Mon Aug 29, 2005 8:33 pm

No such thing as a crap question.. not when you look at some of mine.

Helen is right handed. Series 3 Episode 12, when she's telling bodybag that she's moving Caroline and others out of G wing. Helen has her pen in her right hand and the clip board in her left. She also drinks her coffee with her right hand, but I suppose that doesn't mean she's right handed just an observation.

_________________

flump PostPosted: Mon Aug 29, 2005 8:46 pm

Correct answer OWH! The clip I looked at was series 1 ep 1. The scene where she is at her desk and says to Jim "please jim I'm not the bloody queen". (in our eyes you are honey!! :D ) She had the pen in her right hand.
Right OWH, your question. Go Girl!

I don't think we are ever told who was wing govener b4 Helen. Maybe it was stubberfield and when he was promoted to number 1, helen got the wing goveners job? Although having said that, maybe its the mind playing tricks on me, but im sure when stubberfield and helen are talking he says "your predisesor". I don't think we are ever given a name though I'm sure Helen is the first female wing govener, judging by Fenners attitude towards her. Just a theory!! :?

New Question...
OK, how about a new question. I'm not sure I even know the answer to this one yet, so I'll have to go back and watch the DVD's (oh dear  , not). Anyway, here goes:

When does Nikki get moved back onto enhanced after she is put on basic for alledgedly attacking "Mad" Tessa Spall?

I didn't actually realise it happened at first, but at some point Barbara is sharing with Virginia O'Kane, so Nikki must have been moved out. :?

So, does anybody know?

Not a quiz question, but I was wondering...

In the final scene of Coming Out, the camera pans around as they kiss and I can see a red car reflected in the window. I have no idea why I was watching the window at this point, but is it Helens car?

_________________

Obsessed with Helen PostPosted: Tue Sep 06, 2005 11:44 pm

First of all, one has to wonder why you'd be looking at the reflection instead of these two beautiful women kissing Laughing , but with that said I'm going to say nice spot, but I don't think it's Helen's car. I think it was Series 3 Episode 8 where Helen is getting out of her car the first day of being Grade 1 Wing Govenor and they show the back of her car, there's no sticker in her back window like the one in the reflection and her plate is yellow where the one in the reflection looks white. I don't know how the license plates work in the UK, we have different plates for every state here.
What do you think?

OK, I would like to take a guess at least to the first part of the quiz...how many times Helen says she loves Nikki. Mind you this is only a guess and I have not reviewed my DVDs...this is only based on wracking my little brain but I think Helen has only said it twice. Once after she and Nikki have "consummated" their love and then there is the first time she ever says it..and that is to Dominick.

You are correct!!! :D about Helen.
You sure you don't want to take a try at Nikki?

_________________

Janet PostPosted: Wed Sep 07, 2005 12:22 pm

Not yet about Nikki. My brain as well as my heart can only seem to focus on one woman at a time :) I suspect though that Nikki also rarely used those exact words and at this point can only think of twice. Because she was much more verbally open about her feelings than Helen it is harder to go through the scenes in my mind. She said what amounted to I love you in several different ways. That, and lets face it, I was in rapt attention to every word and breath uttered out of Helen's mouth. While I found Nikki very attractive too, Helen just got to me. :D If I don't leave for work now, I will be late..damn work :? <grumble> but will try to figure it out on the way.

You're right about Nikki saying it twice, now have you rapt'd your brain enough to figure out the two scenes?
And say no more about Helen, I'm with you in every regard about that woman. I'm way too old to be having such a crush on someone, but she's damn hot and there's nothing I can do about it.

_________________

Janet PostPosted: Wed Sep 07, 2005 1:53 pm

lol...actually I just got into work and was about to amend my answer to one. Good thing you got there first :) One of the scenes is through the cell bars in season 2 when she tells Helen she can't help it. Can't seem to think of the second time.

BTW you are never too old for a crush IMHO :D

_________________

Obsessed with Helen PostPosted: Wed Sep 07, 2005 2:00 pm

Correct on the first one, to find the second one I had to rewatch some scenes, not such a hard thing to do. I will tell you that it's also in series two.

Thanks for telling me you're never too old for a crush :D

Found it, you're right... so there must be three times Nikki tells Helen she loves her.

I should be "sent down the block"

I guess I should tell you the third one, since you found two. It's when Nikki goes over to Helen's and says something like "I love you and when I thought I pissed you off...."

Actually, you gave me a good segway although this question may just be too cumbersome to answer...In how many scenes is Helen pissed at Nikki...expresses her anger or annoyance toward or about Nikki. Since in my mental review (by the way I don't know the answer) it seems to capture about 90% of Helen's scenes this may be too much of a question. Also some of the scenes may be open to interpretation. If this is too much let me know and I will go back to the drawing board.

And as far as your Helen/Nikki knowledge goes, I bow to the vastness of it. :)

Okay here goes, I came up with 20.
My DVD's are broken down to just the Helen/Nikki stuff so I can only quote general episodes, not exact.
Series 1 Episode 1,2 & 3
"Rule 43" (Anger)
Nikki out of shower and Helen talks to her about drugs (Annoyance)
Helen in Nikki's cell after drug search (Annoyance)
Series 1 Episode 4,5 & 6
"Sit Down!!" (Anger)
Helen asks Nikki about Fenner's "fan club" after Rachel's suicide (Annoyance)
Series 1 Episode 7 & 8
"It's about this" and the subsequent lecture Helen gives Nikki (Anger)
Helen asks Nikki to watch Monica after her sons death "I didn't come here for a debate" (Annoyance)
Series 1 Episode 9 & 10
After Helen's night of heavy drinking, Helen runs into Nikki in the library looking for Monica "This is difficult for me as I think you know" (Annoyance)
Helen after 1st kiss "You had no right taking advantage of me" (Annoyance)
Series 2 Episode 1-13
Nikki down the block after taking a swing at Dominic "You only have those books because of me" (Anger)
Next day or so... "No improvement in your behavior" (Anger)
"Sod you Nikki" after dinner with Dominic (Anger)
When Nikki apologizes Helen "stop thinking I'm so fickle about the way I feel about you" (Anger and Annoyance)
Fork thru hand scene (Anger)
Outside Shaz's meeting - Helen to Nikki "I don't know what I feel about you anymore" (Anger)
Nikki at Helen's door and subsequent return to Larkhall (too many to mention)
Series 3 Episodes 1-7
"Get out here now" and the subsequent "it's too strong what we feel and what we need" (Stupidity)
"Are you out of your stupid mind" after Nikki confronts Fenner about the sexaul assualt (Anger)
Series 3 Episodes 8-12
After riot "It's over Nikki" "Not even sad about it" (Anger, big time)
Helen catches Nikki and Caroline in library (Anger/Annoyance)

How did I do? I really should get a life.....
Do you know how to put a picture in with a response?[/img]

_________________

Janet PostPosted: Thu Sep 08, 2005 6:32 pm

OMG, you are great! I will have to read this more closely when I get home. Although you do mention the Monica episodes there is a scene when Nikki is bringing Monica flowers and baits Helen by asking if it is ok to do it after Helen already told her that it is a nice thing. Helen gets annoyed.
I think the scene where Helen actually catchs Nikki and Carolyn kissing, the reaction is more hurt. I think the annoyance comes in at a later scene where she thinks momenatrily that Nikki might be doing it to make her jealous.
Very impressive :D

_________________

Obsessed with Helen PostPosted: Thu Sep 08, 2005 6:36 pm

Okay I give you the flower scene, I thought it was more exhaustion from Helen and not Annoyance, but as you said "interpretation"

It was a nice way to spend my lunch hour (did I mention I have the entire Helen/Nikki three series on my computer?) :D

And as far as the computer goes, you have to have access to Helen at all times, you never know when you'll need a fix (or answer a quiz question)

They have all those studies about how much work time is lost due to fantasy football, they should do a little study about fan fiction and the obsessive lesbian.

Are you referring to the song or that hideous blouse? I've never heard of Loveday and Loveday, so it could be a designer, or a singer...

If you're answering the quiz question, you could have found a potential flaw in my questioning because they're not the band playing in that scene on MY DVDs, but I suppose that could have been edited on your version to someone else. Hmmmmm... Had not thought of that. It's a British band on my version. If this Loveday and Loveday of which you speak are playing on that scene on the NZ version, then you can have it and set a new question though.

Now I'm sorry to have caused such a stir about that blouse, but I still have to disagree with you all! Having said that, I'll give you it's better than that bloody flat cap from MoTG!

Right, I think I may have made an embarrassing error here Embarassed

I thought Oasis were performing that song, but I cannot find any reference to it anywhere on their websites, so I'm going to have to bow to your greater knowledge and agree it is those guys you said... It's deffo the right song though, so next question please!

I promise to research my answers before posting a question next time Embarassed

Hope it's a nice sandwich BTW :D

It did sound good though!!! Well, I'm going to have to get off to sleep now... I probably don't act like it, but I actually get up at 6am every day because I have an hour's drive to work where I start at 8am!!! (so up in 5 hours - hooray!!)

Just wondered if you'd finished the dreaded exams yet? If so, hope they all went okay... If you still have some left - GOOD LUCK AND GO REVISE!!!

But don't tarry too long over your next question. I'm keen to get back into this tag game as I was SOOOOO good with my last question!

If you're talking about the pants from South Africa, you better stop right there, she's HOTTT!!!

Didn't read this thread till a moment ago or I would have been well and truely on the case yesterday!! Sorry chaps! Anyway, don't worry HM1ST, I made the same mistake about Oasis too. I explained this story on another thread somewhere else on the board. Can't find it though. Anyway someone posted a question about that song thinking it was Oasis and I replied that I too thought it was them. I sang the song in Helen's car to a few friends of mine of were Oasis fans, but they had never heard of it. It was Loveday and Loveday that sang "back against the wall". MJN made a list and posted it on the board somewhere with all the songs that were used in series 1-3 with the artists. Can't believe how like Oasis they sound!
Right onto fashion! YES YES YES THANK YOU HM1ST!! That blouse was not the best idea our darling Simone ever had!! She's a very attractive woman, but the blouse, eh...NO!! Collar and cuffs in a different pattern to rest of blouse, then a red bra clearly showing under it!! :? Then there was the SA orange trousers. Not good either IMO. But because she's attractive she just and no more managed to get away with it. Simone and Mandana are both beautiful women and I find that Mandana does casual clothing very well and Simone does evening clothes very well. Oh, and I liked Helen's fashion and hairstyle in series 1! Good grief, when I joined this board I thought I would be discussing things, but Simone and Mandanas fashion wasn't one of them!! Aaah, roll on the fashion talk!! :D

Anyway, how was the new gay club OWH? :D

Woo hoo!!!! Flump comes to the rescue again displaying a vast amount of taste and knowledge!

:mewave

I think you sum up the blouse issue very nicely there... The cuffs in a different colour / pattern to the rest of the blouse, and what a pattern it was! Oh my!

I'm glad that song has caused others confusion too... It really does sound like Oasis. I think maybe they recorded it under a different name. Yeah, that'll be it! Seems I haven't read back far enough to ensure I can learn from others' mistakes though. It's probably on THIS thread earlier! That makes it even more embarrassing Embarassed

Sorry people!

Buy Vogue every month, that's what I say!! Don't worry about your question, I've asked many in my time and have no intention of stopping now! Maybe you can help me. On the subject of "name that song", thanks for trying the Gordn Ramsay puzzle. Also, have you seen the Mars delight advert? The one with the waitress in the greasy spoon cafe dressing OTT for work? The song sort of goes "It's a funny little melody............jara, jara, jara jara jing jing jing" I love that advert!! Any idea who sings it? Maybe it was just made up for the advert. I think our american an nz friends are now wondering what sort of muppets we are!!! :D

Oh, what does ROTLF mean?

Rolling on the laughing floor? Hmm...

Ok, next question: The grey/blue top that Nikki is wearing when they snuggle in the art room, when is the next time she wears that top?

_________________

HelensMy1st PostPosted: Thu Nov 24, 2005 10:48 pm

I'm thinking Simone almost certainly DOES NOT buy Vogue every month! Laughing (Or the costume guys on MoTG come to think of it.)

You really know how to pose a tricky music query, don't you? I've not seen that advert and following your explanation, I'm not too sure I've ever heard the song either. Sorry! Sounds very Basement Jaxx to me... I realy like that one they do that goes "Bing bin bin bibibi bin bing bang-OH!" Sorry, I digress... If I have any revelations on either this or the Gordon Ramsey theme, I'll be sure to update you!

The gay club was a big disapointment (thanks for asking), way too smokey and the bar itself is really run down. I guess it's worth another 10-15 minutes to get to the downtown hot spots for the clubs.

I quickly looked for the answer to the quiz question, but on first run through I can't find that Nikki wears that top again, but I will take a closer look when I'm a little more awake. Off to bed after a long Thanksgiving Day!!!!

I'm so sorry for wasting your time! I meant the last time she had worn it. I think. You can ignore it and ask a new one if you want, since you did the research.

Excluding "the bump"

when is the first time Nikki and Helen touch each other in a platonic non/sexual way?

i know they are all sexually charged in our minds - but you know what I mean, affection, a reassuring touch of the hand, a pat on the back...

apologies if this is too easy, but always good to reminisce back to the good ol' days! Laughing

Don't you wish the camera would "pan out" sometimes so we could see what's going on with their hands Twisted Evil I know what you mean when Helen walks up to Nikki, you maybe can assume she touches her, but it's not shown on my version (I will justify this by saying that I only have my edited Helen/Nikki version here at work, but I don't think I missed even a single frame of our ladies, but you never know)

This as always been one of my favorite threads, so I am also glad to see it back up and going. And as far as knowledge goes, it's more like a strange (yet comfortable) obsession, but I'm sure after you view your Bad Girls DVD's 100 or 200 more times, you'll be right there with all the rest of the Muppets.
