That's like the holy grail of Bad Girls you're asking for there Rout 66. If you do manage to get your hands on it, I'm sure at least a few other people here would be eternally grateful if you shared it.

G3 Curtain and Duvet!

Not so much a condo as a closet with a dusty balcony. But the walls are thick, so I can ignore the sheer number of people around me and concentrate on the short commute. I've never seen "This is Wonderland". Hmm, wonder if there's a torrent available... Did you watch "Little Mosque on the Prairie"? Only in Canada can fun be made of Western culture's suspicion of Moslems. I quite like it here. |

Nope, gave it 2 1/2 episodes & then I'd had it--the basic premise isn't my cuppa anyway, there were a few good actors & a few very weak ones... mainly I think it'd have helped if I'd ever been a Dr Who fan, but... never got into it. Definitely going to give Deadwood a shot, Abzug, you're not the first person to tell me I'm missing the boat, I just kept putting it off because the whole Western thing does jack for me. Didn't even care for it much in Firefly, despite how well-done some of those episodes were. But I'm Open, so we'll see. --eETA: btw, for Buffy fans, Joss Whedon's authorized the eighth season... in comic book form. The first 4 were written by him, the rest of the original team is getting different episodes. I'm not very into comics myself, but I imagine it might be pretty interesting to see if there are ways the show even *can* make a transition from the small screen to a different format altogether. |

Currently I watch: The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Countdown with Keith Oberman. That's about it cept BGs here, well, if you count watching youtube the same as watching tv. Get home too late to watch anything else besides all those political shows. In the past: West Wing was great when it was around. Really liked Huff for the short time it was on Showtime. 2 seasons. Don't get premium cable but caught it on DVD. Psychiatrist with his dysfuntional family, gee how original. Bylthe Danner played his mom and Oliver Pratt a ethically challenged lawyer his best friend. Couldn't get into Deadwood, but it did get some awards. In the future: Shed's first totally made for American tv project (I'm not counting the American version of Footballers Wives...as in american football NFL not soccer) Nurses (sometimes called Philadephia General) is piloting. Will star Eliza Dushku of Buffy and Angel fame. Being made for Fox. They will probably give it a go. |

Hmmm, might be, might be. I can't remember the apron, though, so'll have to fill you in on the other detail. Priest is about the gay priest, but ultimately the movie is about forgiveness and acceptance more than it is about homosexuality. When we were still under apartheid the movie was actually banned in SA by the censorship board (instrument of the gov), because it had a 2 minute love scene between 2 men in it. Not even an explicit love scene, I might add. Thank goodness for democracy! |

Yes it is. I've only ever seen a bit in the middle of it (can't remember why?) but I do remember the housekeeper with her apron and some sort of neck brace. Oh and I think it had Robert Carlyle in it as well. So microsofty, I guess it's one that you recommend? I'll have to look out for it. I'm guessing it's a 90's film then. |

I'll definitely recommend this movie, yes! It has a very very very emotional ending, so don't watch it on a good day! |

I doubt it. It aired on CBC and didn't get very good ratings, I guess.
I haven't watched it. Saw the ads, though. Is it any good? |

This reminds me that I miss Tru Calling. I don't think I got to finish watching all there was of that series. I used to torrent it, for some reason I can't recall. I'll have to put that in my queue of tv series am buying. All this mention of Footballers' Wives, not too mention a few ads, is starting to make me interested. |

Took you at your word Abzug & started watching Deadwood. I don't know that I feel emotionally involved (at all) after 4 episodes, but it's so well done I don't mind. I figure I'll watch it through & see how it develops. Thanks for the reminder! |

Yay! I'm so glad you think it's well done. I'd say from a writing, acting and directing perspective, it's one of the best shows on US tv in recent years, just based on pure quality. I'd say it takes more than 4 episodes to get emotionally involved. It's kind of like the first season of Bad Girls that way. I can't remember exactly when it happened, but maybe by the end of the 3rd dvd, I was hooked. |

Oh, no question. And it takes major budget to keep all those people looking that raunchy. Not to mention filming constant crowd scenes. Lotta people behind the scenes on this--even w/o credits that'd be apparent. But yeah, just from what I've seen... this is really well-constructed, they're pretty little pieces of film, and they clearly know where they're going, story-wise. I'm not sure how I feel about handheld in this particular historic setting--bit too self-conscious is my instinct--but other than that minor scruple, am certainly interested & paying close attention.
Yes, I suspected from the pace it'd be awhile, but am perfectly willing to wait. Quality's as good as the best of the best of what I've seen recently, couldn't agree more. Of course... for best cop-show... nothing beats The Wire. Which you still gotta see. <nudgenudge, winkwink> --e
