You know, for some odd reason, that question of yours sent shivers down my spine. But I think I might give it a try once I'm finished.

Yay!!! I know we'd all be forever grateful!

lisa, abzug, ekny - you guys are all scaring me. i thought this obsession would be time limited, just ask a few questions to satisfy my curiosity. looks like you're enticing mm into your web. good luck mm.
on a different note, when i was lurking, if i remember correctly, i thought i saw one of you guys say you were a big "fan" of kristin scott thomas. if i'm right, we just got out a new movie from our video store called "keeping mum", a cute little movie also starring rowan atkinson.
on another different note, has anyone seen "murder in suburbia"? apparently it ran for two seasons in the uk and ralst just posted video highlights from season 1. i was wondering if it was worth pursuing, though i have to say ash and scribbs have captured my imagination.

I've been at it for about 15 months now. It does become somewhat less all-involving, but no, it doesn't go away. :)

That was me, and the movie is hilarious. I absolutely loved it. I don't want to spoil it, but I love its life philosophy. You'll know what I mean after you've seen it.

I'm totally in this web now. Duh.

In fact, I just had a dinner party with my friends and as we got our stomachs full, I showed them (only) some of the BG clips I own. Judging by the looks I was getting as I explained the "premise", the "pre-story" and the "character development", they really think I have an all-involving obsession. Tsk. I'm so in the web!

Still reading Sophie's World, by the way. :) And I wonder if it was intentional that the second copy that Helen gave to Nikki was pink. When she was talking to Nikki about it for the first time (when she's back from vacation in S1), she mentions Sean and how she had little time for him and the second time she gives a copy of the book to Nikki, it's pink and she says it's "not the same". Could it be a metaphor and she's referring to herself, somewhat, or am I reading a little bit too much into this?

ETA: Nevermind me... just rewatched those scenes again. That was my wild imagination.

^^She's right. It does not go away. I've been in this BG-obsessed web for little over a year now.

i really enjoyed "keeping mum". if only we could all solve life's little problems like that! i thought rowan atkinson was very good in it. i've been a fan of his since his Blackadder days. actually, in a couple of those series, our "house", hugh laurie, co-starred with him.

I'm going to try and just limit this to what I'm currently watching.

The Tudors (On Shotime & On Demand)
Robin Hood-one with Rachel Griffiths (On BBC America & On Demand
Gundam Seed (On Demand)
rewatching some Kare Kano His & Her Circumstances(On Demand)
Some Random Penn & Teller's BullShit (Shotime On Demand)
Marmalade Boy - recently finished watching on Demand
The L Word and Dexter recetly wrapped up.
Sort of started in on 80s Robin of Sherwood, since it's a PAL DVD a friend of mine had to test out my new player.

My homepage which is in my profile, I think lists my big faves. Actually, I really need to add Absolutely Fabulous to that list, that show rocks. I guess I should add Firefly, I did watch it all and like it. I like America's Next Top Model & I have to say if it is hard to avoid watching if it is on.

I see no one else has watched 'Dead Like Me'.

I loved Dead Like Me. It thouroughly ticked me off that they ended it so quick. I don't know why, but I was always partially expecting I was going to see Ellen Muth doing something lezzie, in that show, lol. & the reason has nothing to do with the Made-4-TV movie where she played a lesbian.

I think if I was going to discuss TV I own on DVD, I should start a new thread.

I'm going to explain my tv viewing habits. Once upon a time I used to watch like 2 hours of tele, when it aired & for my faves I even bothered to program a VCR. Now, if it isn't On Demand, without commercials or on DVD, I really don't watch it so much.

Mostly I watch movies or no tv at all. Given how much TV Americans watch, this really leaves me out in the cold on a lot of small talk about commercials and network television.

In regards to parts of this thread about how we're watching BG - I'm a LOGO newbie. I tend to leave my tv on LOGO, because that way, I don't turn it on in the middle of a movie. Consequently, one Sunday I was treated to a Series 1 marathon and there the addiction began. I've been watching on LOGO (On Demand, and on air) & on You Tube & reading recaps & soon on PAL DVD . .

I am going to pay my library a visit and start making Nikki's reading list a part of my commute. Starting with MiddleMarch, though, because I already own that book.

I'm sorry for the length of this post, but I kept typing replies, as I read through the thread.

Did anybody else watch C4's "Green Wing"? It was a hospital drama/comedy. It only ran for two series and is not coming back for a third. Anyway, I didn't watch it but my dad did. Then he got the DVDs and I've watched them. Thnk it's fab!

Anyone seen it?

I really enjoy watching this show, it's too funny for words. Each character more wacky than the next. That personnel officer, she's absolutely mad. The painting in her office is :eek. Remember when that ginger top surgeon is lying in coma? She does a Julie Johnston and later in her office her on the desk with legs up in the air, that scene must've been both embarrassing and giggle-inducing to do. That guy with glasses who talks to himself all time, he's nuttier than a fruitcake and he's supposed to be a doctor. He's always following that woman who keeps running away from him. The way they are making bets right in the middle of the surgery and the secretary who is weighing her boobs. :rofl One hour of pure laughter.

"The amazing Mrs Pritchard" was another show I liked, penned by Sally Wainwright of BG fame. It was only 6 eps and ended on a cliff hanger. It's a pity due to low ratings it won't be back. :guns

"Heroes" I watched the 1st 15 minutes of the 1st episode and it didn't really hold my interest. So that was that.

i agree, i wouldn't have bothered if i my friend hadn't gone to all the trouble to burn them for me. trust me though, it gets better, much better! the twists, turns and revelations continued to blow me away with every episode.

definitely a good thing to watch on DVD, i would hate to have waited another week for the next installment on tv. i caught myself staying up into the wee hours of the morning because i just HAD to know what happened next

Totally agree! You think you can't possibly laugh anymore and then the next scene comes on and you're laughing so much you have tears streaming down your cheeks!!

Sue White :lol1 She's classic. She's my fave character. One of my fave scenes was one with her and Martin and she goes into uncontrollable laughter and then calms down suddenly and says "Fuck off". Series 1 that one was I think.

Alan Statham. He's a right nutter! I love his "relationship" with Joanna. I was watching it today, where he goes to the hospital chapel and the chaplain thinks he's talking about someone's death!

Couldn't agree more. I haven't yet seen them all. I've seen most of S1 and a few eps from S2. Can't wait to see if Caroline ends up with Mac or Guy - or neither of them. Maybe she ends up with Martin. Or Sue White :rofl Don't tell me what happens in the ending episode!

This week's Grey's Anatomy had what I consider a classic line I'll have to find another use for "V. I. penis", delivered by (Canadian) actress Sandra Oh. Sorry, shameless plug for Canada, I know.
