Sorry to break the bad news .... but I understood that Series 3 was cancelled. ![]() Quote from Wikipedia Sugar Rush 3 Channel 4 has stated that Sugar Rush will not be returning for a third series, despite its popularity with viewers and critics alike. Some rumours are that there was not a scheduling spot for it, that it was being removed because of the requirements for Big Brother 8, and because a third series was never originally planned |

In love with a prisoner

Yeah, I posted it in the Sugar Rush thread months ago, sorrah. I'm about done with TV for now. After my recent spate of Bitter Disillusionment with BSG, I can't find a damn thing worth my time. House is about over for the season & I'm up to date on The Wire. So that's it, really, till WitB comes out I guess. |

Really? I thought it wasn't picked up after S2: is it really worth getting invested if it's just gotten its throat cut? (Sorry, just continuing with my creature of the night metaphor here...) Tried Torchwood: not for me. (Sorry CBG!) Tried 4400: snooze. Even tried Wild Palms (old miniseries with Jim Beluchi--a total David Lynch ripoff: I hate DL, I've no idea why I bothered). But... but if you say so... okey doke. But--I'm begging you, I'm a desperate woman: don't toy with me. Warn me now if it's been cancelled or summat, at least. <wringing hands> |

Deadwood ran for three seasons, not two, and is one of the most excellent programs of recent memory. In addition, it looks like they are going to conclude the saga with two two-hour films. It is absolutely worth watching. |

The quality of programming in SA is so crap that if you don't have satellite TV you have to resort to DVDs to entertain yourself. I rather enjoy: - BG (duh!) - Ab Fab (love the ladies!) - Wire in the Blood - 'Allo! 'Allo! (has anyone else seen this?) - My family - Footballer's wives (from the writers of BG, for those who don't know) Two films I never get tired of watching: - Love actually - Priest |

Sorry you didn't like "Torchwood", ekny. Hope it didn't take too many episodes for you to make up your mind! There's nothing worse than waiting for a show to "pick up" when it's not your thing. I'm about to give up on SVU. I want my Olivia Butchy McFabulous Benson back - and the more reruns I watch, the more I think the quality of the show is inversely proportional to the length of Mariska Hargitay's hair... "House" is good again (hated the "stalker cop" story arc), so's "Criminal Minds" - which I didn't watch the first year because it was such a "done" theme in my mind. I also enjoy "Without a Trace" when I happen to catch it. Ditto with "Shark". I'm pretty much over the original "CSI", but I like to think that the NY version holds my attention for more than just the aerial shots of the city. I also like "Cold Case" although the Canadian and British versions which preceded it in that order ("Cold Squad" and "Waking the Dead"), were probably both better... Lily would make such a fabulous dyke that I don't know why they don't just give her a girlfriend. It would perk up the personal drama part of the show no end - not that Meridith Baxter isn't doing a great job in her role, but I need some shallow viewing and there just isn't very much of that in the shows I watch. |

Is "Priest" the one with the cranky housekeeper who had the apron that said "Meat is Murder"? Sorry, with everything else in the film, that still remains a stand-out scene - if I have the right film. I also loved "My Family". But it kind of lost something as the kids got older. I adore Zoe Wanamaker. |

i'm trying to remember "Cold Squad". didn't they have trouble finding a stable cast for that show? i think the main woman character is the only one who was in it from beginning to end. what i like about "Cold Case" is how they go back in time. i don't remember that in "Cold Squad". |

I agree about the time warp thing on "Cold Case". I've heard music in that show that has not even been part of my consciousness for decades. But I still remember the lyrics! I used to really enjoy "Cold Squad" because it was something that hadn't been done before. The concept of using modern techniques to solve old cases. I also liked the prominent role played by the female detective. But I moved so much that I never became a regular viewer in the way I have of shows post-DVR. The other Canadian show I enjoyed, but which I never became a regular viewer of was "Traders" although I now know that a lot of what they did on that show was illegal! |

I just read in the NY Post gossip section today that Mariska said her Law & Order boss made her cut her hair. It sounds like Dick Wolf must think something's up with the hair too. |

microsofty - i too love ab fab. the way the two of them always pour themselves out of their limo, and eddie's relationship with her daughter - priceless! I have seen the odd episode of allo, allo, but it didn't impress me. a similar type of program to "are you being served" Same producers, i think. cbg
So, you're in the financial sector. I guess it explains all the travelling, and the downtown condo! I work for a criminal lawyer and really enjoyed "This is Wonderland". It gave a realistic view of how the criminal justice system really worked. Too bad it was cancelled. |
