Hey, ms....
We're northeast of you and riding the same wave of weather confusion.

Can't complain about the rain/snow/sleet....
Going through a drought like we had this past year makes you appreciate the moisture.

Now.....the winds we're getting are rough.

oh believe me ... i don't complain about the rain or moisture ... the wind however, was killing me today! i was walking up the hill to the building and i swear i was standing still and not able to move!
There's nothing wrong with you that a little Prozac and a polo mallet can't cure.

You know what's nice though? It's not dark out til after 6 at night, now.

<whoa. who said that?>

(It was sunny most of the day & about 20ºF so I got all wacky with the optimism, 'scuze me while I go get a grip on reality again...)

Yeah, I know what you mean about the longer nights, ekny. There's nothing so depressing as going to work in the dark and coming come in said dark. It's still cold but my small front lawn doesn;t look like a marsh. I like to walk around in my lunchbreak but it's not that good to make it a proper pleasure.

Hi all,

On-line for a change and thought I'd check the weather thread. Nice to see some familiar names about. aj we really dodged the weather bullet here in Toronto, but buddies in New York City were not happy yesterday and air travel in and out of that area was really screwed up.

I think this is the worst winter I've seen since 2001-2002. And it's been the snowiest February in Toronto since they started keeping records in 1935.

Not that snow isn't pretty...

Hope you're all doing well despite mother nature's temper tantrums.

Meanwhile, back in the Land o Eternal Gloom, it's snowing about as hard as it can snow. Won't amount to much, maybe 6" max, but it's kind of dramatic at the moment.

:)

All the doors and windows open today. Laundry drying on the line. 78 degrees today, and supposed to hit 80 tomorrow here is So Cal.
I am so so spoiled by this weather.

Hey solitasolano, Now I know why my little sister just moved to LA!

e, we were supposed to have 15 cm (6") of snow, but the weather was too warm and almost none of it stuck in the downtown core.

It's supposed to freeze tonight, so I'm expecting skating-rink conditions for my walk to work tomorrow. Maybe it's my survival instinct making me forget, but I can't remember winters being this bad...

I'm tired of wearing boots and long underwear... *whinge whinge whinge* :silly

ahHAH! So we got your snow! :D Yeah, it was 34 all day, so I guess it wasn't quite snow higher up, then changed personality on the way down, streets were a mess. At this point they're not even bothering to plow around here yet, I assume they're out on the highways & will get to actual streets much later at night, that's what usually happens. (How can you stand long underwear? man, it makes me feel like the goodyear blimp! Oh. Wait. Canada... riiight. <shiver>)

Two more months?

Where are you getting all of that precip, ekny? Upstate NY? Here in Western Pennsylvania, we have had two inches every morning this week. Makes for a white knuckled drive to work. If you are not familiar with Western PA, I will tell you that unless you are on a turnpike, you are on a mountain pass! I am ready for spring! Or, at least the ability to see the road in front of me. Whine, whine, wine! lol :D

Good call on the long underwear, A, and lace up your skates! I don't think I've seen my neck for weeks...always wrapped in a turtleneck and/ or scarf!

Wherever you live ekny, thanks for taking all the snow.

CBG if you walked to and from work today, you have my deepest sympathy and admiration. It was pretty damn cold in Ajax tonight.

btw - i've ordered you some boots, hope you like them

Thanks for the boots, aj! I have to admit that walking to work this morning was not one of my brighter ideas and walking home was downright stupid. When I saw my face in the mirror in the elevator as I got into my apartment building, my lip balm had turned into a hard white wax. I looked as though I'd been foaming at the mouth - appropriate, given my decision-making today. ;)

Thanks for taking our snow, e. We've had more than our fair share this winter and we're happy to share... And trust me, long underwear is not a luxury. Even with long-johns, trousers and a coat that came to mid-thigh, my legs were cold. I simply couldn't do that walk with bare skin under my trousers. But I admit; glamor is not an available option when you're in long underwear and an outfit that's topped off with a woolly hat. :D

Wind chill right now is -29C and by tomorrow morning it might just get to the point where the two temperature scales meet. That's right, when it's -39 or -40, you don't have to ask whether that's Fahrenheit or Celsius. Brrrrr....

I'm listening to reggae, soca and zouk almost constantly, but I still can't quite manage to feel tropical!

Hi all, glad to be of help! :D Yes, it didn't get above abt 12 today--currently it hasn't gotten as cold as I expected, but windchill's still below 0F, it was not a pleasant walk home, I've gotta say. (Central NY, 5mins, close enough!) I'm sorry we couldn't do more to help out, Allie... looks like another few days of this, too--tomorrow should be the same.

March

April, I'm thinking...?
