10 degrees.

I'd kill for 10 degrees...how about -16?

Oh dear.

I'm betting I'm further south than you. (If you yourself are in WI.) It's 8 degrees now at 6:05 PM.

<sucks air in through teeth>

f*ckin-A, girl. That's brutal. 3ºF here at 6pm, I was keeping shtum because I figured... everyone's got it about the same & some of us are obviously having it worse off than others. Although a solid week of this is rather pinching my nerves to the Last degree.

As it were.

But negative 16? I assume everything was closed & people were told to just stay home.

Most schools were closed, but businesses were open. I work in a hospital, so it doesn't matter what the weather does, we have patients to care for.

The temp. climbed from the AM low. We are all looking forward to 20 tomorow. Can you believe that?!

Got to 40C here today.

It's almost 11PM and it's still 27C.

Same forecast for tomorrow.

I am really letting the side down, a Brit and not talking about the weather for ages. :D It's an extraordinary thing that this side of the pond, one fall of snow and everything falls apart, schools closed, councils running out of salt to treat the roads and especially in comparison with years ago when there was snow regularly in January and somehow things functioned better.

I hate to complain about the weather when the temperature has been hovering on about 32F at its worst and now today a more bearable 36F.

Sorry to hear that, Richard. I feel your pain. If it makes you feel better, I can send some warm Florida sunshine and winds your way. It's warmed up here since the weekend, up to the high 70's (F).

We had 20 - 30 degree (F) lows last week. Being from the American North, I do know how cold it can get and how depressing it is, especially when there's no warm weather in sight.

Beautiful and sunny. It should be nice and warm by the time of your arrival. 70 - 80 degree highs and 50 - 60 degree lows (F). It's unlikely we'll get hit with more winter weather.

The worst that happens around this time is rain, when we get it. I think you'll enjoy it. Where in Florida are you visiting?

Thanks Toni, my heart is now very warm, even if the rest of me is frickin' freezing.

This trip will be my ninth so I am familiar with what the weather can do but quite frankly it can't be any worse than it is here and will probably be a whole lot better.

Predictably I am staying in Orlando, more for the kids you understand (!) which would be OK if I had any........

Also planning a week on Madeira Beach for R & R and, of course the four S's....think about it........there you go. :innocent

Bye for now
:D

A little lost with the four S's . . .

I love Madeira Beach. Enjoy! It will be a big relief after the crowds in Orlando.

In the meantime, stay warm. :)

Well, the exchange is complete TC.

You have our snow and we have your rain.

As for the four S's Toni - I've come up with sun, sand and surf, but that fourth S sure is a mystery.

Have I got it right so far, TC?

I think I may have visited Madeira Beach before. We used to stay at Indian Shores, just south of Clearwater. Very nice beaches.
