I walked in to work this morning & found myself undoing a snap or two on my ski-jacket, sliding my hood back, thinking, hm, not so cold out today, really, sun's shining, this isn't so bad at all. It was 26F. Which, you know, comparatively speaking even... is just not that frelling warm at all. |

lol! been raining here in sydney the last couple of days. now i remember rain is that wet stuff that falls from the sky, which i now discover can go this grey sort of colour ;). is pretty humid to boot, but at least not as sweltering as it was last weekend. i went to the cricket on sunday, on a 37 degree day, was i crazy?! yes.....yes i was. anyway, to our absolute delight we found out we were under cover and in the shade the entire day. SCORE! |

Wow, that's about as extreme a contrast as I can imagine right now. Walking in to work today I was forced to play the imaginary if-I-walk-on-the-side-of-the-street-with-the-sun-I'll-be-warmer game, which at today's high of 10°F (-12°C) was just not very convincing.

Well, in my lovely suburb of Brisbane it reached 30 C. And we had 2.6cm of rain fall, early in the evening. Along with some thunder and lightening. But it was all over in about a 20 minute period. It was a huge downpour. So you can imagine the humidity all day before the storm.

Hey, BG from Brisbane... Though humid, I'm sure the rain was welcome.... I've heard you gals have been kinda dry down under. Hope it helps. We are freezing here in Rocky Top, Tennessee! Very cold and the wind chill is brutal. Not good for man nor beast! |

mmmm those sort of cold temps sound very tempting right about now....for about 5 minutes before i start to whinge and want hot weather again! the sun is out today after several days of it being overcast and drizzly. it's Australia Day today (public holiday yayyy), so it HAS to be nice. hopefully the humidity will go away soon. i'm off tomorrow for a week's holiday at the beach........this one to be exact: ![]() that's the view from the balcony. don't you think the headland looks like a dog lying down? i call him Clifford, after the children's book about the giant dog

Omg, that's so sadistic it's just funny, I'm sitting here snickering. It's 3º now (-16C) and WINDY. Trust me, you really don't want to be out in this for even 5 minutes. I was just out shoveling, I hope the bloody neighbors appreciate it. <ilovemyspaceheaterilovemyspaceheaterilovemyspaceheater...> Have a great vac, looks like a total fantasy from here! |

ekny, as they say here, "Cold enough for ya?" 'kin 'ell. I read that Amtrak isn't sending trains north and west of Albany NY and that the New York State Throughway was actually closed in Western NY. It's getting to the point in eastern Ontario where the wind chills are so bad that it won't matter whether you're giving the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit - it's still gonna be -40! It's only about -12 here right now and I can hardly stand it when the wind is blowing. |

lol, oh yeh, I think tonight & last night were definitely a genteel sufficiency! Last night was about 0 (-18), but that was not counting the wind-chill. Unpleasant.
Wow, I hadn't realized... that's fairly serious. And whatever we're dealing with has to be worse where you are...!
Yes, that's always fascinated me in a weird way: isn't that the place where the two scales meet? Or is that -80?
Stay warm, comrade. Me & my space heater... we're special friends. --e
