G3 Curtain and Duvet!

Thanks, mate. You do the same.
You know, when I hear discussions of women and their mechanical friends, a space heater has never featured in my imaginings of what those friends might look like. I'm on my way to NYC for a few days, so I'm hoping for a 10 degree improvement in the weather. A friend of mine is at the beach... in South Australia. I'm trying to be happy for her... really I am. |

Heh. It's one of those Practical Dyke Thangs, I guess. Enjoy your time in NYC, yes, you should gain 10º or so... except it's dropped by about that much since yesterday. Otoh, at least I'm not in Owego: they got 72" in the last 2 days. And are still in Owego. As opposed to say, mm... South Australia, would that we were all so lucky eh. |

It's horrendously cold here in NYC, so all you're really getting is a lift to the kind of cold where you can go out with a hat and scarf and gloves, rather than a full face mask and mittens. Monday was absolutely frigid--9 degrees I think they said. And of course the heat in my bedroom broke that night. It was NOT pleasant. |

I had the pleasure of taking the flannel sheets out of the dryer, putting them directly on the bed and crawling in. It was the toastiest my feet have been in a week. Tomorrow should be warmer in Rochester, but there will be lake effect snow i am afraid that will make us forget about the warm-up and still bit** |

Haha! Cute. No, we're in the middle of a storm, that's what I was saying! All the snow showed up at once on the same day.I was showing a friend in the UK the radar for my area, and found myself very amused to realize: the graph showed 0-12" as "light", up to about 25" as "moderate" and it's not until the color shifts to red at fifty inches that the weather is called "heavy". Which of course is quite different from "severe" at 75+". |

Ok I was jealous there for just a second. As far as the radar snow fall scale goes~~ Are these the same people who decided that there are 4 servings instead of one in a Haagendaas (sp) pint of ice-cream? |

I ripped this off quite shamelessly from ILMJNet. But it was this temperature most of the day (in ºC, not F!!), or just a smidge above, & will be colder, tonight. Hang in there, songstress & CBG, it can't last forever... I think. --e |

Went downtown to the Fashion Institute to see an exhibit of costumes from Oscar nominated shows (the real costumes just right there in front of you)... the downtown girls were all in tank tops and less....windows are open to cool the house off. I love it. Best thing about LA.

Yes, it's 10º at noon, and sunny, and everyone's unaccountably cheerful. I think I should move, this is not making sense to me. ;p |
