NSW's weather has been very eventful lately with savage storms and so much rain that it is looking to have broken the worst of the drought, for NSW at least. we are also getting colder than normal temps for winter, around 15 during the day. i can't remember a colder Sydney winter than this. this is a good brief news report (reuters) of all that's been happening. http://media.fairfax.com.au/?sy=smh&catego...0News&rid=28861 |

It's so cold isn't it. I'm sick of all this NSW rain, sunny blue skies the last few days though. At the moment it's 14 C, but at least the wind is mind - only 5.4 km/h. |

Great pic Lis. Yeah Sydney is the best city. Lots to do. Lots of playing fields, Olympic Pools(50m), you can go bush walking at the Royal National Park, Surfing - we have great surfing beaches, restraunts, pubs & clubs, Sporting Arenas and a gay scene! |

OMG It's so cold here in Sydney at the moment. Maybe Brisbane is the place to be now. Last night was so cold, I had to put extra blankets on. Today the temperature is only 10 C ! |

Stay away from Jo'burg as well! Last night the temperature dropped to -2°C and then struggled the whole day to climb to 11°C. I've been out of town when it snowed yesterday - and snow on this side of the world is very uncommon! The last time we had something resembling snow was way back in 1981. |

Yesterday it was 91ºF. Today it's 72, weirdly muggy, & there are more severe storm warnings/"Special Weather Statements" (I kid you not) out for the afternoon. I'm so glad global warming is not a problem. (Said Special Weather Statement includes warning for hail. Hmph. Not impressed. I'm waiting for locusts, myself.) |

Forecasts earlier in the week called for the Valleys here in Los Angeles areas to get up in to 100 (38C). Thankfully it's cooled off and will stay in the high 80's (31C). No rain in sight since a couple of dribbles back in Feb. Dry dry dry. Watch for those California urban wildfires. Sure to continue. |

It was pretty hot here these last few days in southern ontario, with smog advisories. High of 27C predicted for today. No sign of rain for a few days. So, not only do they warn us against using air conditioning too much for fear of rolling blackouts, they're also warning of water shortages. The grass is becoming a nice shade of beige, nice and crisp under the feet too! Now, if we could only get some of that rain the UK has been "enjoying". No wonder the grass in those countries is always so green. |
