According to all the magazines that run sneek peeks of shows for the next season. There is to be a relationship between the characters of Rosie (Natalie Seleeba) and Pepper (Nicky Whelan).

And if you go by what I have read it is to be a relationship.

Only time will tell how long it last. As every other show on Australian television that has aired a lesbian relationship ends up being aired after midnight or they stop airing it all together. eg BG only aired for one season on channel 7.

I cant stand this show. But I will be interested to see if it accepted and it has any influence on the tv executives. Seeing neighbours is such a popular show.

interesting, i hadn't heard that but i do watch the show, when i'm home.

i thought rosie and frasier would end up together, which would be incredibly predictable, but then again it is a soap opera!
although now i think about it, pepper's mum has just come out to her family so maybe that will cause pepper think long and hard about her own sexuality and it progresses from there.
who knows what will happen, i'm just glad lesbian storylines are getting more prime-time airtime.

this actually might be happening. well, they've kissed, but that's all it could be knowing the track record of lesbian storylines in this show.

it happened in last night's episode, which i missed, damn.

i got this from the official neighbours site...

i'll be watching with interest but i'll be mighty pissed if this goes the same way the other stories went.....being NOWHERE!

There is a really small interview with different neighbours cast members in this weeks tv week.

They asked Pepper (Nicky Whelan), who she wants her character to have a relationship with this season and she answered 'Rosie'.

But like you said lis 'time will tell'.

well i'm glad she said 'rosie', clearly she's got the right view that these sort of storylines should be airing more often and with more credibility. it would be a nice change for the actress as well, especially in that non-challenging acting environment.

there might be hope for this afterall.......but yes time will tell :)

gotta love youtube......the clip of the kiss can be found here:

after the first kiss i felt ripped off, but thankfully it gets better. i really hope this story doesn't die before it's even left the ground.

hi there. i know i'm a bit off topic, but it looks like at least two of you are aussies. i don't know if you guys ever go to ralst.com, but she has a lot of fanfic and shows clips, etc.
anyway, i saw a lovely clip from what i think was an aussie short film called something like two girls and a baby. it was about a lesbian couple who were having a baby and the one who was pregnant was worried about what would happen and her partner was reassuring her. i found the scene very touching. i was wondering if any of you had seen it.
by the way girls, thanks for the welcome!

Yeh Lis and myself are both Aussies.

That movie is Australian. And it is call 'two girls and a baby'. It stars Claudia Karvan.

She also stars in a TV show called 'The secret life of us'. Which I know is shown in several other countries.

I don't have this movie, but I can ask around and see if I can get a hold of it.

thanks for looking into it for me. i don't know if you've seen it yourself, but it was just the way the two actresses related to each other in that scene that i found so realistic and heartwarming. by the way, what time is it in oz?

9.35pm here in Sydney now.....we're currently on daylight savings time, queensland doesn't observe it, hence the time difference in the same longtitude

never heard of that short movie, i tried looking for it on the web but had no luck. claudia karvan is a brilliant actress though.

Try here Lis.

I went to the site they claim has a copy of this short film that can be downloaded but I couldn't find it.

She also made another lesbian short film called 'Touch me'.
