An excerpt from an essay by Kim Ficera, called Savoring the Smooch: (The full essay begins with a comment on the 2000 MTV Awards and the Best Kiss winners, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair.)
Now, I've seen kisses between actresses that look as if they're kissing their grandmother, but of course, reading this essay, my immediate image was from "Oh, What a Night!" And then I got to wondering, do you think this is true- that women have a natural head start when it comes to being better kissers based solely on their gender? How much does chemistry then play a part? When it comes to filming it, despite the audience around them behind the camera, is it easier for women to let themselves commit to the scene (whereas men might be distracted by... well... thoughts of green meadows and cold showers, perhaps? LOL!)? Thoughts?

I think that does actually make a lot of sense. I think it is the gender, rather than the sexuality, which would make women better kissers. But, going to your question about chemistry, I think that there needs to be a connection between the two (it doesn't have to be a sexual connection, maybe just a good friendship). Granted, I've only ever kissed one girl, and I may have been drunk, but I agree that most men are not as good. Saying that, I can't say all men are like that: I've had my share of great male kissers. But yeah, I don't think it matters whether a girl is gay or straight, she can kiss another female just as well, especially if they both trust each other. |

There's nothing sexual about a kiss. If you're in love with that person then the kiss is magical. |

I just couldn't leave this one alone.........Nothing sexual about a kiss........mmmmmmmm....... now I have been ordered to be diplomatic so I will do my best.......... Whilst of course a kiss between a couple regardless of gender, who are in love can be magical to say the least, I do also think it can most definetly be sexual......... The easiest example I can think of to give would be......I can tell by the way Oz kisses me what she has on her mind.........she can be sweet and gentle with a kiss that says I love you or she can be passionate and demanding with a kiss to curl my toes and mean I WANT you.......(my personal favourite) Having kissed both genders I have found that kissing a woman is so much more sweeter.........it is soft, tender yet firm enough to excite, gentle and extremely passionate........mind you Oz is a great kisser which helps....... In my experience men have been sloppy, rough and sometimes prickly and way too quick to tonsil wrestle....... So how did I do? Diplomatic enough?.......

4us, my sweetie.... I am with you on this 100%. Having also kissed both, nothing beats the kiss of another woman. Men always seem so rushed with their kissing, like "let's get it on". There is no I love you gentle kissing...at least in my years of experience. ![]() Kissing a woman on the other hand, is heaven....soft and warm and gentle, whether it's an I love you kiss or it's a prelude of things to come.. There's no replacing it in my book.....

You were obviously kissing the wrong guys, HF! But yeah, a lot of guys can be like that: like they're in a hurry to get somewhere. But also, there are some amazing male kissers out there too. Or have I just been lucky?

Lisa- No offense, but come back and talk to me when you are a bit older and have had a bit more experience, then you may agree with me. Yes, there are a few exceptions to the rule in everyday life. I was kissing men almost twice as long as you've been alive... Now, I'm with the woman of my dreams and there's no comparison. You probably HAVE been lucky. ![]() HF |

Wow now Huskie..aren't we the experienced one.........you old dog you....... hey baby I reckon I may have outkissed you actually...........hey I have even kissed you come to think of it....... But you are soooooooooo right........finding that one special lady and there's no kiss in the world to match it........... Lisa you are still a baby but appear to have done your share of puckering up..........good for you girl.........your age group is far more experimental and the boys are out to impress, too bad they grow into grumpy old men who once they have married you don't find the need or desire to impress you any more..........needless to say that the kissing leaves alot to be desired......of course there are execptions to the rule and some women get lucky..........can't tar all men with the same brush............ For now keep those lips lubed and enjoy.........

On the subject of kissing, what kind of kisser are you? http://www.blogthings.com/whatkindofkisserareyouquiz/ I took the quiz and these were my results. ***You're an Passionate Kisser*** For you, kissing is about all about following your urges If someone's hot, you'll go in for the kiss - end of story You can keep any relationship hot with your steamy kisses A total spark plug - your kisses are bound to get you in trouble |
