I am currently uploading clips from Rozengeur & Wodkalime. It's a dutch tv show that aired a few years ago and had a big lesbian storyline in it. (I've added subtitles) 6 clips are uploaded so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN26AB92WbI Jules |

Hi Jules2, you did a lot of work on these, many thanks! Will you be putting up the 'prequel' (how they met) as well? Thanks again, e ETA: ps: Wodkalime pretty much seems like it'd sound like a mixed drink in any language. Is this supposed to be a joke of sorts? |

Yes it is! 11 parts in total. It took me forever to make subtitles. So far youtube isn't giving me crap that i have to take it down for copyright issues. Hey and guess what, it hasn't been flagged yet either! And to answer you other other question, the title of the show is not supposed to be seen as a joke. Wodkalime is a drink, yes. And in this serie it is the favorite drink of the main characters. If i translate Rozengeur literally it would mean the smell of roses. But that's not what the title is all about. In Holland we have a saying that when everything is peachy (at work or in your personal life etc.) that all is Rozengeur and Maneschijn. For the title they changed this saying a bit to include the favorite drink of the women. And yes, leave it to the dutch to make something completely un-understandable and complicated! |

At least you seem to have a very keen sense of humor abt your national character, this way! Thanks for the info on the title at long last, & for all the work that must have gone into the subtitles. Are you finding they improved your language skills, or mainly your computing skills??Maybe I should rephrase... perhaps this is the way *I* can learn a little Dutch?! ![]() I'm going to go start downloading while everything is still up & available... --e |

Yeah, sorry ekny, didn't see the comment before, which is why it took so long. I wouldn't say it improved my language skills. Some phrases are totally dutch and i have translated them word for word, it would sound rediculous. Which is why i would change the subtitles something a little. My computers skills have definantly improved. It's always nice to put your mind to something and actually be able to do it. Not sure i would ever do it again though. It really does take forever! And you learing dutch. Hey go for it! I'd love to hear it!
