In love with a prisoner
|
I was just having this talk with a person who said their partner brought a laptop to bed, & of course I realized zillions of people must do that now, but part of me rose up in umbrage and thought THAT is the Limit! A girl's gotta have principles. No dogs, no boys, no sodding computers. But I'm cool with cats, girls, & books. Um. Not necessarily in that order. And you? |

In love with a prisoner

I sleep with about four pillows. They all prop up various parts of my body which are trying to heal from various injuries. Occasionally I'll knock one out of the bed or my girlfriend will steal it in her sleep and then I'll wake up in the middle of the night in the complete wrong body position and wonder how it happened. I used to sleep with this great stuffed monkey which a friend had gotten for me for my 16th birthday, but my gf nixed that when we moved in together. She also nixed my real live cat, who used to sleep on my pillow and now meows sadly outside the bedroom door, hoping tonight will be different from the last 1,000 nights and we'll let her in to sleep with us. |

oh god, they're so convincing too. Mine does that whole No-one-loves-me-I'm-starving-why-doesn't-someone-help-did-I-mention- how-small-and-pathetic-I-am thing any time I want to talk on the phone in peace & quiet without her trying to chew the cord. Then she won't do spoons with me as revenge. It works, the guilt is amazing. |

A girlfriend, a laptop and two cats. The female feline isn't happy with just sleeping on the bed. She insists on sleeping on my (or mygf's) legs. |

The non human things that join me in bed are: book, Mumble the penguin from Happy Feet that sits on the pillow and a pile of clothes at the bottom of the bed that I have been too lazy to put away/put into laundry basket! |

Ok ~ a book and a huge body pillow to support my back . Unfortunately, I also often end up in the 'bad-back' positions anyway when I wake up. Perhaps if I tied a rope around the doorknob and left the end by the nightstand it would be easier to get up in the AM. Then I could just pull myself over to a position that is more condusive to getting out of bed than lying on my stomach. If that doesn't work I suppose an EJECT button might also work. So sorry, I seem to have wandered into the subject of "what non-human objects could you put in the bed in the future"

I have the usual malarkey really To many cushions that end up scattered around the room by the end of the evening. Random amounts of PJ’s because the morning before I put the set I just took off under my pillow then forgot they were there and put a new set on. A remote control because I fell asleep watching BG, which in the middle of the night is usually digging in my back or stuck to my thigh. My mobile phone as my alarm is on it, so in the morning I grab it off the side put it on snooze, then have to scrabble to find it in all the pillows and Pyjamas! I don’t have a cat; I think I’d be slightly concerned if I found my goldfish sleeping at the bottom of my bed! x |

as a kid i had a whole bunch of stuffed animals taking up half my bed. now i'm boring, the only inanimate objects i sleep with are my doona, pillow and a little round handmade cushion with "Anne" stitched on it. it was my Mum's and i've been sleeping with it since she died 5 months ago. |

Let's see. 3 bears given to me by the chicka who owns my heart. One super cuddly Christmas bear, and a really huge bear my grandmothers friend gave me. And three pillows. There's barely enough room for me! |

I just realized there are 13 pillows on my bed. 1 body pillow (generally acts as my bed's headboard), two queen size, 3 twin. The remaining 8 decorative pillows only leave 1 that isn't really functional. 3 of the eight look pretty in black light. 3 of the 8 are Squish pillows. 4 of the 8 are furry pillows. 1 is silky. I don't remove the pillows to sleep in my bed. I think I have so many pillows, because when I was younger it used to be droves of plush animals. Between not wanting to need to wash my stuffed animals and not having them all where I've been living since I moved north, they probably won't ever make a true return to my bed. Sheet, blankets, comforters, PJs are the usual fare. Now, my "Sleep mask" sounds normal enough. Usually, I leave it on my nightstand, unless in use. It usually ends up off of me, when I wake up, though. However, I'll admit that most people would look at my black leather, purple fur lined "sleep mask" and call it by its for sale name, blindfold. My laptop's AC adapter hangs out at the end of my bed, because it's plugged into the socket near my bed. Remote controls-ok, so I have fallen asleep a few times with those in the bed. I try not to, it's a pain, when one goes missing in my bed. My remotes are: -CRT TV -LCD PC Monitor TV -Digital Cable -DVD -PS2 -A Wall Light ---came with the apartment & the remote is the only way to turn that particular light on or off. Now, my bed kinda does extra duty as a couch/unfettered surface area, so while I don't sleep with the following things, they do spend time in my bed or on a person who's in my bed: food, dishes, laptop, manga, books, video game controllers, Nintendo DS, headphones, & other random stuff I set on it for various reasons. |
