I didn't put this in 'articles' since it's my impression that section is for stuff specifically about Bad Girls &/or H&N ... this is just about Shed. Rumors flying all day re some sort of internal move. I'm no expert & can't make out all this corporate-speak, but it sounds like some kind of buy-out.

This article from Variety is called "Shed rejects Takeover Bid"

Someone I was chatting with referenced a more recent update at the Telegraph, but I haven't found it. Dunno if it's worth posting whole articles here on this sort of thing, so I'm just sticking with the links for now. --ekny

Oh wait, ok, got it: the Telegraph article is called "Management buy-out of Shed Media is on the Cards"

Apparently business is Good: according to this Guardian article share price jumped on the news & Shed retains a "buy" recommendation from some investment banking group:

Here's the sequence...maybe -

* Buy out offer is made by group of Board member who are also CEO of the opcos, stock offer escalates to 100p/share.

* Eileen Gallagher steps down as CEO of Shed Media to return to head Shed Productions.

* Non-Executive Board members and their advisors reject the buy out.

* Shed Media non-executive chairman Katherine Innes Ker is to step down on 18 March.

* Non-executive director David Kogan will also step down "owing to his commitments" at the time of Shed's annual general meeting, which is expected to be held in June.

* Shed says it plans to nominate and seat 2 new non-Executive board members.

* The news of the failed buy out is released to the press.

It would seem that with or without buy out taking place, the group that made the offer retains control of the company.

It seems rather dramatic to me, but maybe that's just because I don't normally pay attention to this kind of stuff. Or maybe it's that Shed doesn't have the kind of control over their leaks or PR or whatever that more seasoned companies have. But yeah, it seems they're doing well. Go figure: what do I know, right? :) Thanks for the breakdown... we should nominate you meeting secretary or something godawful like that, someone's gotta be Linear around here!

G2 landing

Shed Media have an Oscar under their belt now through Wall to Wall one of the companies in their stable (er...perhaps that should be shed). They produced and have just won Best Documentary Feature for 'Man on Wire' about Phillippe Petit's high-wire walk between New York's Twin Towers in 1974. This is in addition to the film winning the Bafta for Outstanding British Film earlier this month, and winning accolades at the Sundance Film Festival, Britdoc, The Edinburgh Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival and Full Frame Film festival as well as picking up a Karlovy Vary award.
