One more thing. There's always one more thing isn't there. In terms of Olivia coming around, I forgot to mention a line that troubles me from Friday’s episode. When Fr**k comes bumbling across the street to talk to Olivia and says he’ll see her at the sonogram, Olivia says she’s not going. Why? Because it’s not my place. There’s that dang pregnancy thing…you know, that issue that Natalia and Olivia NEVER talk about after the initial reveal and emotional encounter in the park where the thought of raising Fr**k’s baby puts her over the top…Where/when does Olivia come around to ‘it’s our” baby and being momO? We don’t see it do we? Never discussing the pregnancy again between the two of them is a big hole. Ms Logical and Analytic aka ekny, can I wager some of my remaining Otalia bucks that this might still come up....or not? |

Oh, sure,it'll come up: between Olivia, Natalia... and Emma. Because they never have a direct discussion when a third party could instead be involved. Yes alright, they Need to Talk to Emma. But, you know: more sani-wipes: we love each other and are going to be a big Family. I really don't see it being any more in-depth than that, because Emma's eight years old, and so, it seems more than clear at this point, is the approximate mental age of their imaginary target audience. Nice summation, though! eta: sorry, in rereading I think I probably misunderstood your question. You mean: between say, Olivia and Natalia, the *couple*?! Oh my. Nothing more than Nat Explaining to the newly-transitioned Whipped!Liv (which kinda bores me, actually) (a lot) that this is their family because it's made of the People Who Love Them and Each Other. That's my guess. ![]() I'd like some reassurance on the legal end, but that's not gonna happen, I don't think. |

LOL. But that would force the show to be reality based. NOtalia non-YT morning inspired chin chucks. There’s many more, but you get the idea. Are you ready for this? Yes, I am. …if we can’t explain it to her, how can we explain it to anyone else? ![]() It was good for me. Was it good for you? NOT ![]() And we’re still waiting… ![]() Again TY molsongrrrl photobucket for the easy links to pics. |

Really, you could do a whole gestural-vocab essay on chin-chucks, forehead-touching, nose-rubbing, cheek-stroking, and hand-holding. This is like all those 5th-grade BFF-things I missed. ...And they say romance is dead. |

Today's quotes from Springfield.... Philip to Alan: "It's not about what you want." Again, Philip to Alan: "You don't have to make some kind of a Grand Gesture." Frank to Shayne: "You're a Good Man...I am also entering into a family that is non-traditional" (okay, I did squirm a little bit at the cultish sound of that) Alan to Philip's tombstone: "It is as if you've crossed over the threshold and I now want to cross over my own threshold... IS NOTHING SACRED?
Do you think it has happened yet? All spoilage aside, which I don't even remember any more, but the "I'm tired of wasting time" isn't the same as "I'm on board with baby makes four." I think it is totally going to come up again. And after today's ep I am wondering if Olivia is going to have to make the same sort of mea culpa Alan did. He was all about how his fears prevented him from loving Philip but now he has faced his fear and wants to make the ultimate statement therein, thereof, there there.
It is really clear to me that the devil may care Olivia is a front. Olivia may have a rather large ego and would like to be the queen of all she surveys (which was her original ambition with Prince Richard) but she desperately wants to fit in with the cool people. Oh the irony that the cool people have gone from island royalty to Coopers at a BBQ. About men always being involved: I was having a thought - a thought about how men see sexual attraction in a very clear, shall we say cut-and-dried fashion. It kinda sorts makes sense that for a previously heterosexually defined woman to *hear* this better from a man. A man who is going to inform said woman in short sentences that she has the hots for another woman and should do something about it. |

Cagey! And here I thought I was cynical. This post was all kinda depressing. But hey, thanks for Sharing. ![]() (I agree, basically, which is why the sighing.)
Maybe they've been watching Big Love. (Speaking of Olivia, here. Of course.)
Share & share alike. Make room on that park bench. You know, seriously, I've wondered about this for awhile, your reading of everything-reflecting-on-everything. The other way to read that is: Otalia becoming Absorbed, zombie-like, into the fabric of SF means all their most important moments leak out to other aspects of the scripting. Sort of like certain H/N scenes being reflected in F/Shell scenes but only with partial intent, rather than entirely deliberately (on the part of the scriptwriters). Or maybe they just have one template, so everyone does, in fact, have to partake of the same set of definitions. Oh, I know, I know--it's all about the moral of the story. Whatever. I agree: it's major irksome. I have had the same damn fly in my room for 2 days. I turn off the light, open the door, think it's gone away, but no, it's ba-ack. Again. (I'm thinkin... this, too, is a metaphor.)
Speaking of irksome. I can't even address this except to say I *really* hope you're mistaken. Because O. & the apologizing--effing *please*, already.
It is really clear to be that the Olivia who doesn't care got kidnapped in June. ![]()
Ooh, that *would* be the Last Word, wouldn't it? Are you *trying* to send poor Abzug over the edge?! ;p

Thanks for the rundown from today's epi. You are a girl after my own heart which the direct quotes, but my head is spinning....I know if I was watching and the catch words and phrases threshold, Grand Gesture, non-traditional family ran by, my eyes would so be rolling...what no two mommies spoken or included today?? I so agree, just seems to me the order should have been in reverse. The look Olivia sports way back on Aug 17th when Natalia steps out from behind the car for her preger reveal is like no other I've seen CC deliver for Olivia....so like you said in a previous post...Olivia hasn't "given in completely" quite yet so there's still story for us to see. "It isn't my place" (to be the other parent) I spec to be only a short step to give in especially considering time constraints. I forgot to add this thought to my yesterday post. Olivia doesn't have any female friends so it's not unreasonable that she communes with guys, especially her exs whom she seems to get on well with these days (well Alan remains in a category of his own as the possible exception, not a friend). Philip and Olivia's interactions the last few episodes comes across as friendship rather than patriarchal and hence dogma. Please, is it not too much to ask that Fr**k take a hike tomorrow also like he did so easily at the 'can't waste anymore time' giant smile forehead f**k fest? While I'm on a roll. Now what was that Josh suggested about O and N going shopping together? |

Gee and I thought I was getting in touch with the rest of you after your intimation that my fringe might be getting soggy. ![]()
There is definitely a purposeful repetition. What was the Achilles line ?-- all I ever remember from the Homeric sagas is "rosy fingered dawn." But - debased as you might find it, I don't think it is just jukebox writing, it is meant to be that way. Recycling the same expressions to trigger the same responses, just like Homer and his rosy fingers. I am extremely sick of "x and y tell their family and friends about z". Oh No - have I pushed abzug off the edge? Say it is not So! You mean, solitasolano, Josh thinking about N and O in the *changing room*? Now there's an image full blown: Natalia and Olivia *changing*. As a PS from watching today - nothing Otalian in the previews. Those more spoiled than I would be able to tell if there is footage tomorrow. |

Oops didn't see your post ek, was composing my own. I wrote one last thing which I deleted...it was something about the "taming" of Oliva Freaking Spencer by getting all wrapped into the Cooper BBQ (boring being quest). That would be a nonverbal Olivia mea culpa....don't think we'll be getting a verbal one as it seems she has some "it's not my place" fittin in with the Coopers to deal with still. |

O, ralph. This is not *better*, my good woman. Who in the name of god would WANT to fit in with the Coopers, anywhere? I'm taking this to the spoiler thread, people. Cagey has made me drink kool-aid. |

Today's scenes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVMx8IucHlk The scene with Josh kind of weirded me out--Liv's still not sure? She needs another man to tell her what to do? Seriously? It doesn't even make sense, even for this show. But the scene at the end was nice payoff--they played it well, playfully, and with a good amount of sexiness. I also liked how Natalia kept calling Olivia on her foot-dragging, because it really IS out of character for the character. |

Everything about today's episode sent me reeling off into the woods, ballistic with fury; hair-pulling; indignation. Maybe I'll post after I go throw down a few shots across the street at the bar I never frequent. I don't think I can stomach much more. Fortunate for me eh. Need to go out & buy some more Pepto Dismal. Which had best NOT be a P&G product, for all our sakes. |

What's the Exec Summary on this couple? I watched a bit in the beginning (at least I think it was the beginning) where they were at a spa or another. Then missed a bit and now one of them is pregnant. Oh, and I know the show was canned and will be ending soon, so why introduce a pregnancy into the mix of things when there's only a couple of weeks left? How did she manage to fall pregnant? Have they gone past first base yet? 100 words or less. PS And what's with Americans and couple names? Otalia... Brangelina...? |

Let’s all try to synopsize. Bet each interpretation will be different. Except I don’t bet anymore since ekny cleaned my clock. Natalia comes to Springfield to find her teenage boyfriend, Gus, and father of her child. Olivia, seducer of men, powerful businesswoman and heart patient, competes with Natalia for Gus’ affections. When Gus dies in a motorcycle accident Natalia allows his heart to be transplanted into Olivia. From this sacrifice, hatred turns to friendship, to trust, to sharing a house and parenting Olivia’s daughter. Until it becomes clear that this might be more than just friends. Natalia has homosexual panic sex with Frank. Olivia pushes her to marry Frank. At the day of the wedding, each admits their love for each other. Months pass. On the day they planned a public coming out, Natalia discovers she is pregnant (see panic sex above) and flees Springfield because she is very confused about what a baby will mean to their relationship. She returns to Springfield sure that she and Olivia are meant to be a family and raise the baby. Olivia is somewhat resistant to the notion but Natalia’s constant wooing and the affirmation of all the men in Springfield that the thought of Natalia and Olivia together is really hot, convince her. These two will eventually return to the Farmhouse of Love to raise their girl children and be solid members of the community. Most, if not all, of the sex between them will be taking place in the minds of the men of Springfield. |
