Double posting because now I have watched the whole epi 2 plus epi 2 BTS extras.

I notice that Cliff the Craft Service guy got a cast credit for the one word he said, but latina maid did not receive a credit for her 'hola'. Craft services would be the folks who feed the crew.

Hey, no one's discussed the tarot cards....The Empress, the "it's a she" card, often denotes the promotion of well being and security with secondary meaning for maternity or pregnancy. But the real card, the one Guya really laughed over was the last one which is The Fool. The Fool indicates new beginnings and the overturning of the status quo.

I noticed at they added the hotel with the rooftop set to the tail credits. Before it was just listed under "sponsors" on the website menu along with Susan Feniger's new restaurant...

Two scenes seem about right for the lenght of time each web series allows. I wish I had a better sense of When the first scene, the scene used to introduce sassy assistant, took place in relationship to epi 1. Is that after the windswept hairblown roof toop latte? I'm guessing, yes, that same day and that the dinner "I'll cook" scene will be soon with Aunt Guya. When we can't watch the whole feature lenght season at once, we're unable to "glance back" and see, oh yeah, that was the same morning....we'll see. Carry on V3 or V4 or whatever they are up to now.

CC tweeted the following yesterday:
Yeah couldn't find the quote reading all the way back to Dec 23. Not important, just bring on more episodes is all I can say.

I'm thinking about how different the two BTSs are in style, content and form. I rather prefer the actual rehearsal blocking and run thur to more interview type thing the second BTS was. Wonder what the next one will be like. Hope it is different yet again. Why not.

So epi 2 introduces 4 new characters. Leads me to think these 4 characters, or at least 3 if you discount Cliff the Craft Services office assistant, are more important than the up coming two love interests/distractions. Humm, somehow that doesn't seem quite right. Must be patient with the 6 minutes at a time movie, I say out loud to myself.

Happy NEw Year all.

Epi 3. Sh*t, loved it. That HD on my oversized screen, wow. It holds up.

A little longer episode goes a LOONNGG way to settling into the show. The hand-held plus the big close ups makes me dizzy sometimes, but then the oversized viewing doesn't help in those regards.

Hey, what da ya know? Editor; "finishing editor" (never seen that credit before); and a SOUND EDITOR. All the new editorial folks are from GL.

Ok, Gina, definitely the player. Ok, with the big sister/little brother stuff and giving out advice that you really should be giving to yourself..for both Gina and Owen. I'm fine with the writing and acting. Not sure why that Guya/Tina scene was in where it was from last epi. Seems the scenes from tonight should have followed the now famous "fucktard" scene in the office.

The Gina/Traci hug greeting at the rooftop bar seemed like we missed something, but I know we didn't.

Next? Bring it on.

I was gonna ask what a "finishing editor" was. And, if they had a sound editor, why could they not fix the clanking of Gina's martini glass? Or may be that was a purposeful natural sound effect since her kitchen has the dreaded granite counter tops.

So I'm wondering if they are fixing and mixing so much because they have all the panty and subscription money (and therefore can) or if there is some other source of funding that has taken an interest in this series and it's potential for a sustained audience.

The HD version was jerky for me - but it is prime time - and the low def won't even load. I'll keep checking back to see if the last crash of '09 occurs.

That struck me as a Dykes Off Duty hug after work. What did bother me was how closely they stood together, not unlike how Gina and Ani stood with Owen in the first ep. Presenting themselves as a couple. That would seem a bit premature.

Also, that business talk? I don't think so.

Same reason no one ever got rid of CC's series of foot scrapes moving into and backing up from the famed "what do we do now" "we say goodnight" finger fornication threshold scene.

They just don't or maybe FCP Sound Studio doesn't have volume graphing. Still they could cut it out or select the clank, bouce to make a new file and volume gain it; or at the very least split to another track and lower the volume as they mix....oh wait, they still don't do a sound mix. Still, over all, editorial improvement wouldn't you say?

Love how CC/Gina loudly asks for "Grey Goose" on the rooftop. Don't V3/4 have that sponsorship yet? Speaking of which, now that the hotel gets a on screen credit, I see that Susan Feniger is getting her "Special Thanks" now as well.

Except that Player Gina made more than one comment to her brother about the prospects of hookin up with the London Lawyer...Gina's already leaving the next morning before Tgirl wakes up.

Definitely the best ep so far. I agree about the length, the writing, the editing--all much-improved. I also thought the composition of the first scene was particularly good.

My guess on why the Guya-Katherine scene wound up in the previous ep is that otherwise they would have had Gina-Michele, then the negotiation scene, and then maybe Gina-Owen, but they wouldn't have been able to have the cafe scene at the end as well. So in order to tell a complete mini-narrative in this episode, they had to move the Guya-Katherine scene to another episode. It's almost like they knew ep 2 was going to be a throwaway in order to make ep 3 work effectively.

Lesli Kay looked relatively un-soapy, due to the low-key makeup I think. I actually almost believed her as a dyke. I need to see more, but the way she interacted with Gina felt like someone who dates chicks.

Yeah, the dialogue during the negotiation scene was absurd. They'd have the contract worked up by that afternoon? That's insane--these things take days just to come up with a preliminary contract draft, and that's assuming this negotiation is the last step in them creating a term sheet.

Gina and Owen's Mom *had* a ranch in Napa. Pa's gonna sell it for a tidy profit. Why does his house look like a furnished apartment in a college town?

Let me, let me, be the first to say that CC is a very unconvincing lesbian and a questionable poker player.

I paid my low low price of 9.99 and if it were not for the help of you know who you are, I would yet to see any of these eps in something resembling a smooth flowing experience.

If nothing else, they've got the soap pace down - I can't believe we've been through 4 episodes and *nothing* has happened.

I thought their mom was dead? Man, did I mis-hear dialogue which was that significant? Was that in today's ep or last week's?

OK, now, question here: what lesbian Gina's age would make out with a woman, and then that woman would leave, and said lesbian would think the woman was straight? I mean, by the time you reach a certain age and experience level, you can tell a "straight" woman from a gay one, don't you think? Which leads me to believe TPTB thought they actually needed to establish, in the actual script, that Tracy was a lesbian. Why? It shouldn't have even needed to be said.

I've never had any sort of tech problem (I mean, other than when the site was down), but today I watched the episode at work, and I experienced what many have been complaining about: the jerkiness, a complete inability to watch in HD. I know my connection at work isn't nearly as fast (or consistent, speed-wise) as home. And at work I have Windows XP and IE 7.0, while at home I have Vista and IE 8.0. Both of which are pretty common setups, so that makes me think it's not my end, and instead was my work network. Their player, because it doesn't download in advance of the viewing, leaves very little leeway for any sort of bandwidth issues, even ones you wouldn't notice when you're using other sites.

The one time I logged on, thanks to youknowwhoyouare!, I didn't have any problems, but then my approach assumes problems: I have dial-up at home, & even at work, with DSL, am used to slow caching. I turn the sound off, go to another window, & come back once it's played through w/the sound up, to watch. That was just the extra stuff for ep1, though, which was pretty short.

I have no further comments bec I haven't gotten ep4 yet, & in fact haven't watched anything since ep1. I might be turning into one of those test-cases that watches the whole thing in one swell foop. Or not so swell.

So... is there anyone who is buying G as a dyke? Oop. 'skooze ME. Lesbian?

My issue isn't whether I believe CC playing a lesbian or really any of these actresses. They say the characters are lesbian and you know? I go along with it.

My issue is the writing. My God is there a cliche that Kimmy has met that she didn't like?!? Dad disapproving of lesbian daughter? Shocking! And really does every line have to spell out every little thing? As in:

Exactly - just dumb - we actually had to have Tracy confirm she's 100 percent gay or whatever she said. Sigh. It hurts.

Also the writing is clunky. Like in the first episode, the morning after and suddenly Gina says something about being surprised at running into Ani at the restaurant. Ummm wouldn't they have discussed that the night before?!?

But again, I didn't have many expectations rolling into this thing and that's where I remain. So the last couple of eps have improved and so - I'm fairly happy.

LK though? Needs to relax and open her lips when kissing CC. That closed lip thing is annoying.

I thought that kiss was a purposeful acting choice: Tracy has stated that she's decided that she wants Gina to want her more than she wants Gina (isn't that the best way to start an affair?) and so she was holding back/out on Gina with the smooch.

Went to the site this morning to see if the ep played better a day later and the player wouldn't even load.

A Gay: Gina is A Gay. How often has the word Lesbian been used yet? Twice? Much as I am enjoying watching CC, Gina doesn't feel particularly queer or even someone who could string two coherent sentences together. Wait, I guess that would be the fault of the writing.
