Still watching.
This weeks initial impressions:

Guess it’s never a bad time to confirm your gaydar, well, if you have it. Lara that is,not wasting any time.

Too bad the focus on the Lara’s reverse angle wasn't equally HD knife sharp as for Ani’s angle. It was distracting to me that Nadia’s eyes were in soft focus compared to Jessica’s. I want to see that pale green in sharp focus. (Refer to epi 10 previews to see what it should have looked like.)

What the frig was Guya wearing? Green leopard skin?

Drunk dialed. (What is this? High school?) But did like the repeat of “Someone I’m just seeing” said twice with the second one accompanied by the just off camera caressing the boobs gesture.

Foot kissing. I’m all for that.

“Keep the change.” I’ll continue to watch.

I may have to watch it again just to count up how many "f*cks" and sh*ts" there were in the brief space of time. It might have rivaled The Wire in profanity per frame.

Was it just me, or did that very close encounter between Guya and Gina have more sexual vibe than Gina with anyone else? Nothing like a little incest, I guess.

Favorite line of the week: There aren't that many Lara's out there.

Nope, it's not just you, although I was trying hard to ignore said Gina/Guya intimacy because I don't think KimmyT intended on this "story" going there.

Love Hillary B Smith in her close up reading glasses btw.

Turns out the green leopard skin robe comes with the location hotel.

Not much else to talk about is there? Sure wish TPTB had taken the time to put together the whole "film length" season before airing the first episodes. If the story/season one web series was conceived as a feature length film the material would have benefited by being edited as a whole, considered, recut where necessary, and then portioned out into 12 or the appropriate number of episodes. The show would benefit from more pacing and transition shots. As it stands now, the individual scenes are just that, stand alones almost which don't necessarily lead to the next. Was the whole point of the green leopard morning after scene so we'd know that Gina was next going to meet who her brother was dating? What, is everyone around her going to find true love leaving Gina to reconsider her playa ways? And just who is this Logan? How come that character didn't get spoiled to death like every one else?

Still watching.

What's up with the fear & loathing of Keener? I don't know who she is from Adam. Soap fans have got to be the most fickle people in the frozen foods aisle I have ever seen. I want *this* desert treat! No, that one! Wah. etc. They didn't like NB before. Now they do. Her eyes./Her... *eyes...*! etc. Gina's a twat. Gina's suffering--good = character depth. As for Ani, I am so bored with reading phrases like "JL-smit" I cannot even speak to the matter. (Not this board.) (Hee.) (Luv you guys. No, really. We'll do lunch. Gotta run!)

<sqealing tyre f/x just for SS!>

word. m'kay? ftmfw!

(...Someone needs to do a study of jargon, slang, & idiom in fan subcultures. You'd need some real computing power to chart the appearance, frequency, the ebb & flow of various bits of slang. I'm serious. It's one of the only interesting things going on that I can see, on a meta-level: 20- and 30-year-olds talking like teenagers to demonstrate their coolness, take shortcuts in communication, &... well, whatever other time-honored functions slang provides. He he he. That said, wtf does ftmfw mean? I'm applying for membership.

I think more than tyre squeal, we're talking Edvard Munch scream. When possible may I be so forward to suggest watching the actual show versus reading responds to said show. Not much to say about the show either way it seems.

For the mother-fuckin win.

I know. Now you have a headache, feel vaguely soiled, did not get a kiss, & have to go explain to your girlfriend. So sorry, mea culpa!

[presumably a variant of For the win--but whence it came, I know nor care not. There might be people who chart *all* this argot, but the more I think about it, the less palatable the project sounds. I'm going back to my crypt.]

Oh, a hit, I declare! Etc. :]

Point taken, dude. But... some of us *prefer* meta. Hell, in a show with no subtext & maintext too boring to listen to, roll-yer-own does seem sort of the way to go.

We do seem to be finding something other than tweets to discuss as the subtext of this webshow. Maintext too boring? I think we are still stuck with the *script* being not produced in a web-friendly way. If folks are now interested in what happens next - in E9 of 12, well that seems to be some time wasted to get to that point.

I propose, as solitasolano has already discovered with her revolving tag lines, to treat the entire series as post modern art. Enjoy each moment for itself and worry not about it's questionable meaning in the greater scheme of lesbian media.

And with that, a study of short hand -- and just where, ekny did you trip upon ftmfw? Sounds vaguely competitive to me. Perhaps Olympic inspired?

At this point, the show is rife for the betting pool.

I'm game.

Book is open on: ftw
How many f*cks and sh*ts will be in Friday's episode.
How many hairdo's will Gina sport through the end of the season?
Does Gina make a play for Lara after seeing her with Ani?
Will Gina wear jeans again?
Which character faces a tragic end?
Will panties be mentioned again?

Against my better judgment I will wade into the betting pool. What are we wagering this time? Certainly not panties. Pistachios?

ftw: are we wagering they are saying it, doing it or we are thinking it?
Number of profanities in the next show: I'm going with less than last ep. I lost count on my fingers very early in that first scene.
Hairdos in the season: thinking more indoor than outdoor to come, so less emergency 'do. So I'll stick with we've seen the last of the hair manipulation.
Gina making a play for Lara: If she sees them together, yes, she will.
Gina in Jeans: Absolutely
Dead End Character: Sorta thinking Owen. Or Sami. I know the easy money is on Dad. And would be just pathetic.
Panties: is there any possible bet on this? Of course there will be panties.

For yet to be determined units of wager:

ftw = V3-1 has already formulated this parallel universe in their red wine.

I counted (I admit it) 7 sh*ts; 1 sucks; and 7 variations of f*ck or f*cking. The count includes the profanity in "That's f*cking epic" but not the sh*t in "I've got to get my sh*t together." I don't think I'll take a bet on there being more swearing in tomorrow's episode. This count is at the top of the range already.

Hairdos, however, I'll go with a new one per scene. :silly

Agree on the Lara play and the jeans.
The tragic end I'll predict is not an end but rather a reveal about a character at the end of Season 1. I'm going with Gina finding out the Colonel is sick.

Only 3 more episodes to go. Isn't Season 2 already paid for by mine and other's subscriptions? I can't remember.

E10 - to be remembered as the one with the realish kiss.

Why do these characters, who are supposed to be in their 30's at best, keep referencing stuff that seems out of their cultural communality? eg, the John and Yoko album cover and having a "favorite Beatle". And the is the family "okay with the gay thing" comment?

Gina jeans are sighted. We are not going to profit much, ss if we agree on everything.

One f*ck. One lousy f*ck. in the entire almost 8 minutes. What sort of censorship is going on here?

Rumor has it that S2 is paid for, can be written in a twinkle of an eye but that's about all that is said. But I would stick around for the Ani/Lara developments. Perhaps also for the now High Drama aspects of Gina, she who wants to sabotage every relationship she can.

I'm okay with the Venice thing because it's Friday innit?

I see Susan Feniger finally earned her "Special Thanks". Nothing like owning a Me restaurant. Good on her.

RealNadia has a great voice, ends her phrases and sentences down pitched. Oh yeah. At least this week the blue eyes were in focus. I didn't mean the getting-to-know-you exposition first date talk. Good to be getting bg info on the characters since they are on camera for only short bursts of screen time limited by the webseries format.

Ani's definitely going with the desert, wink wink. (See cagey quote above.)
First date. First kiss. Kismet. Yelling to come. As Lara says herself, you get used to it.

Gina, the pit bull, in jeans and still a jerk. Various possible conflicts starting to build. Does this mean we will get some real drama?

I'm not a BTS girl, but admit I do watch. Love how RealNadia steals the camera from you know who. And hey, goth nails just for us.

Still watching.

Down to only me watching?

The best moments of the episode for me were the non-verbal ones. Gina, not once, but twice, three times checks out that Lara girl, and then Ani in reverse, glares and watches Gina squirm. What is this, Epi 11? Finally the conflict starts to simmer.

On a different note, not lost on anyone here, too bad straight girls don't have good boob appreciation. A nanosecond scrim and feel up of CC's breast, what was that about?

The two short clips shown in the promo for Season 1 final episode reiterate "Venice the Series" is all about Gina. Divided Gina tells Ani it's hard to see her with someone else (what room are they in anyways? and is that bed hair head on both of them?) and then proceeds to ask lawyer girl if she was moving back. She's just looking for trouble.

Still CC's bitch. Still watching. :silly

I'm watching - I just don't know what I am watching anymore. Seriously, I have nothing to say about the last episode. Ani is boring, Gina is possessive, Tracy is jealous and Lara likes a threesome.

The boob question though: this might be worth discussing.
