thanks for the link/info. I must say to being a bit surprised. I could understand it 7/8 years ago. Please dont take this badly-its not meant to -but simone is a 45yr old little known brit actress. I think opportunities and roles will be limited but i certainly wish her good luck and who knows she may get lucky. Although judging from the interview it seems simone herself is pretty realistic and level headed and knows it may/may not work out. It certainly is a big move particularly with a young child. I wish simone lots of luck . (sorry to sound rather pessimistic but a lot of better known (and often younger) brits have gone out there, either done nothing or had some minor role in some terrible low budget film and have soon come home. A tiny tiny amount of people become a success in comparison to the amount that go out there-so you have to be realistic) |

As Simone says in the article, she's taking the move to the LA as it comes. I don't think a seasoned professional like herself will have any unrealistic expectations. And after a very tough year its not a bad thing for her to have some time away to re-group. Although, I'm sure it will be a big change for her and her close knit family. The move is also a good one for her husband Raff, who has done more film work in the U.S. and could give him an opportunity to take on new work both as an actor and possibly writer and director. Yes, few brits survive in the US or make it big, but there are a few very big names from Ken McReddie Associates (Simone's agent in the UK) who have done very well.......... Emily Blunt, Helen Mirren, Jeremy Irons, Joseph Fiennes, Joely Richardson ......... just to name a few. And even US stars like Kim Cattrall (Sex in the City) and Neve Campbell (Party of Five) have signed with Ken McReddie in the UK. Wishing Simone all the very best whatever the outcome. Her fans love her anyway ![]() |
