The Shed-Insider web page says the first two series of Bad Girls are going to be re-released on DVD on Feb. 7, 2011. Sure enough....Amazon UK agrees. No indication when the last of the N/H trilogy will be available.

Someone must figure there's life in the ol' girls yet.

Bizarre. Nothing new or different, just... putting the discs back into circulation again?

Well, something's different, because the Series One DVD box pictured on Amazon UK is marked "3 disc set" and my Series One DVDs comprise 4 discs. There's a new photo on the front of the box as well, but whether there's anything different in substance is not clear.

Part of me hopes there isn't anything new and different, because if there is I'll wind up buying these again! At least the pre-order price for Series One is only £14.99....

I've gotta say, though, that it's downright cruel to re-release Series Two without making Three immediately available!

Weirdly or embarrassingly... I don't remember what was on the 4th S1 disc. (Before I get thrown off the board, I'll just quickly add that I copied them out of neurotic fear they'd get hurt or damaged and go out of print & I'd lose my mind, see, and... oh--wait. The out of print part wasn't so goofy, was it? Hm. --so I haven't watched the discs proper in years, just my own rips.) Anyway--all by way of saying wasn't the 4th disc just extras? It seems the reissue is even more stripped down, so you needn't worry.

Unless, like... some people, you decide you need duplicates. :D

it does seem strange to re-release them-the average viewer will have long since forgotten the show and moved on-the hardcore viewer surely has the show on dvd i would have thought?

I could understand if this was a blu ray upgrade( some older tv shows have been upgraded) or an extended cut with added scenes inserted or maybe more extra features that they have found to put in on it. It would be a disappointment if this was no different to what we have had before.

Yeah, Shed's marketing... again: just bizarre. Always seems to have been very haphazard. With any other company I'd assume some sort of trial balloon to do with the sale of the company; here, since the discs are only to be re-sold in the UK... not even that makes sense. :D

Still... nice chance to get another set of backups! Not. That I'm paranoid about my own. Nope. Not me.

Apart from the "extra set of backups" issue (and believe me, e, I understand!), I suspect we're not the target audience for this re-release. :-) Perhaps there's just been more demand for DVDs of the early seasons since CBS Drama started airing the series in the UK last month? And there could be new fans who were too young for the show when it aired originally.

New interest actually doesn't surprise me. Just this past weekend my partner and I pulled out our Series One DVDs and showed the first four episodes to a friend who was posted overseas during the relevant time frame and had never even heard of the show. I gave her the seesaw link to watch the rest on her return to the UK, but it wouldn't surprise me if she were tempted by the DVD re-release.

Just how many of us have had to check the DVDs just to make sure there are 4 disks?

Sad, really. Cause I just ran though them all a few weeks ago on the Marathon. Although we did not include the Extras in the Marathoning.

This re-broadcast on CBS Drama has certainly gotten the juices flowing here about. Would someone explain exactly what that channel is? Say, if I were to be in London at Christmas, would the series still be airing?

I still debate with myself about would Shed release the whole of Bad Girls for US consumption without airing it first on some cable outlet. I mean exposure beyond what has happened already. It is so cheap to do DVD, and there is a certain market, so why not?

PS: Disk 4 is outtakes and other

Hi, Cagey --

You can find the web site for CBS Drama here: http://www.cbsdrama.co.uk/ It's channel 149 on Sky and channel 134 on Freesat.

News reports I found via Google state that the network acquired the rights to all eight series of Bad Girls (as well as series 1-5 of Footballers' Wives).

The network is showing one episode of Bad Girls each weeknight at 9:00 p.m., and tonight it's episode 4 of Series 4. Assuming no scheduling changes, if you're in London at Christmas, you should be able to see part of Series 5.

Bad Girls and the occasional Judging Amy episode are the only shows I've ever watched on this channel. From their adverts, I know that the others they show include Dynasty, Ed, Touched By an Angel, and Boston Legal (plus FW, which follows Bad Girls).

Also, I just noticed on the web site that the network shows the soap Guiding Light, usually around 01:40 or 2:00 a.m., weirdly enough. I've never watched that show (I was a General Hospital girl in my misspent youth), but I know that might be of interest to fans of "Otalia." :-)

Hi...

I just checked my Region 2 discs for Series 1. There are four discs (uncut). On the 4th disc is Episode 10 - Love Hurts in addition to all the Extras.

Episode 10 also has a commentary track.

On a three disc set, either they've got some new compression capability or (more likely) there's been much chopping. If you remember, when Series 1 was released for Region 1, there were only 3 discs, and useless extras...mostly still photos if my memory is still functioning.

CBS...?? BG, our Bad Girls, very way no kidding lesbian Bad Girls is airing on some version of... CBS? :eek Huh. Maybe they can pixelate the area around people's mouths when they kiss.

I'm heartened to know they're reairing & maybe picking up some new viewers.

I watched all of Series One through Series Three on CBS Drama this time -- it was my way of forcing myself to watch one episode at a time for a change (and the opposite of Cagey's marathon, I guess). Consequently, I am able to report first-hand that none of the kisses featured pixelation of the area around the kissers' mouths -- which of course is good news as to Nikki/Helen and bad news as to Fenner/Anyone.

This week I've seen some of Series Four for the first time. I wanted to know how Yvonne extricated herself from the murder charge, but with that question now resolved I'm afraid my interest is fading fast.

Yesterday I emailed Acorn Media UK, the company issuing the re-releases, about the schedule for the remainder of the series and its availability in the US, and here's their prompt response:

Thank you for your email regarding Bad Girls. I can confirm that the
series will be released as follows:

Series 1 - Feb 7th
Series 2 - April 4th
Series 3 - July 4th
Series 5 - Oct 3rd
Series 6 - Dec 27th
Series 7 - to be scheduled

These will all be manufactured for region 2, so unless you have a multi
regional DVD player these will not work for you. You can always contact
Acorn US - at www.acornonline.com to see when they will be getting the
series

Do you think there is any chance that these re-releases will have the original music from the show and the original screen format so they can be seen as originally broadcast?
