SURRENDERING IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART

Surrendering in your dating life may make you uncomfortable. You may
feel nervous as you let yourself engage in a flirtation, or self-
conscious when you let your date buy dinner. Your inner critic might
be talking a mile a minute while you remain quiet enough to listen
and stay centered on a date.

That's when you'll find yourself most tempted to control the
situation. Grabbing the check and calculating the tip may make you
feel more at ease than focusing on receiving graciously. Reminding
him that you better get a move on if you're going to make the show
may feel much safer than staying in the moment.

But when you give in to the temptation to take-charge, you give up
the chance for intimacy. You stop feeling feminine and tingly. You
cheat yourself out of receiving special treatment from a man. Worst
of all, you signal to your date that you don't want that special
treatment or admiration.

Surrendering certainly takes some courage, but only those women brave
enough to give up inappropriate control experience the magic of true
intimacy with a man who's right for them.
