Hey, I'm new to this site, and new at this fic thing, too. Bare with me, please. If it's bad, don't be afraid to let me know, and if there are things that could be done better, let me know that, too. Constructive criticisim is definately appreciated.
:D Rating: PG13/Comedy-Romance, hopefully Characters: Kaylie Geller, Blair Lawson, Andrea (Andie) Hall, Dom, Orlando, and Billy Summary: Kaylie's favorite hobbit is coming to Nashville for a movie premiere and everyone who's anyone is going to be there. Blair and Andie, Kaylie's best friends, are going to make sure they are anyone. Kaylie, however, has a hard time getting star struck when tragedy strikes (unhuman). She may make a really good friend in the process of getting over it. Chapter One: The Movie Premiere Nashville's Been Waiting For Kaylie Geller woke up that morning to her best friends screaming like crazy. She didn't even take the time to run a brush through her long brown hair. She just jumped out of bed, and ran down stairs. Too bad she slept in her underwear. But she did think her friends were being murdered by something terrible. When Kaylie reached the bottom stair, she saw Blair Lawson and Andrea (Andie) Hall were just fine, fighting over a news paper. "What on earth is the matter with you two! Are you daft! You scared me to death!" "Kaylie, hon, you might wanna put on some clothes," Blair said, turning her head from the half naked twenty-four year old. "Blair, I didn't have time to put clothes on! I thought you were being killed!" Kaylie shot back, her icey blue eyes would've shoot fire if they could. Blair was Kaylie's age. They had been friends since high school. Andie was a year younger than the two girls. Blair and Kaylie met her in college. Blair was light blonde with dark green eyes, and Andie had long brown hair, and hazel eyes... she wore glasses, because she couldn't stand the thought of touching her eye to put contacts in. Both girls worked at an animal shelter. It was Kaylie's idea. She was an animal nut. "Why were you screaming?" Kaylie demanded. Andie pushed her glassed back up on her nose, and smiled innocently, "Go put something on, dear, and we'll tell you." Kaylie glared at the two, then stomped back upstairs. She threw on some shorts, and a tank top, the ran back downstairs. "Okay, what is it?" "Guess who's coming to Nashville!" Blair exclaimed, "Go on, guess!" "Wait, I know this one! I do, give me a second! Nope, it's not coming to me. Who?" Kaylie said, sarcastically. Blair gave her a scolding look, but it quickly went away at her excitment, "Your favorite actor!" "Tommy Lee Jones!" Kaylie exclaimed. "No, the other one," said Andie. "Will Smith!" "No, try again," Blair sighed. "Shaggy!" "Again... who?" asked Andie. "Scooby Doo and Shaggy..." "Matthew Lillard? No, try again," Andie sighed. "I give up. How many favorite actors am I suppose to have?" asked Kaylie, annoyed. "Dominic Monaghan!" exclaimed Blair. "Oh! Oh, really! Who's that?" Both Andie and Blair couldn't believe their ears. They stared wide eyed at Kaylie, who honestly looked confused. "Your favorite actor. Your favorite hobbit from Lord Of The Rings... Merry!" shouted Andie. "Oh... oh! Why didn't you say so! Merry!" "I knew she'd know if we said Merry," Blair whispered to Andie, "You didn't know his real name?" "I never took time to read the credits," said Kaylie. "But... he's in Lost," Andie smiled. "Charlie, right. I don't read those credits, either," Kaylie smiled. "But you know Tommy Lee Jones' real name!" yelled Blair. "Anyway! When's he coming?" asked Kaylie. "Tomorrow. Everyone who's anyone will be there," smiled Andie. "Be where?" asked Kaylie. "At the premiere of his new movie. He shot it here, ya know," Blair grinned, "Too bad we couldn't get off work to go meet him." "I didn't even know about it," Kaylie sighed. "No, because you were too busy being Mother Teresa of cats," Andie rolled her eyes. "I love my job, sue me. So, what time?" "Six-thirty, but nothing big will probably happen unil like seven or eight." "Well, that's nice to know. I'm going to make breakfast. You guys want anything?" "Kaylie! How can you think of food!" scolded Blair. "Easy. I'm hungry," Kaylie said. "Kaylie, we're going to this," Andie smiled, excitedly. "You're out of your mind! Do you know how packed it'll be?" "That's why we're camping out," Blair told. Kaylie looked atonished, "Camping out? No. Not me. I'm staying here, in my nice warm house, with my nice warm bed, with my loveable cat, Smicket. You guys camp out in that craziness if you want, but don't even think..." "Merry is going to be there! Where's your heart! Where's your devotion! Are you not a fan!" said Blair, trying to sound passionate. Kaylie laughed, "Good speech. I'll think about it, alright. I'm not promising anything. Who's going to watch my baby, if I go?" "Smicket will be fine. Won't ya, boy?" Andie asked the big ball of fur laying on the couch. Smicket just purred, lazily. Kaylie got the big guy when she was just twelve, and had him ever since. Smicket was truely spoiled, and it showed. The two had been through a lot together... or so Kaylie would say. "Smicket will be fine, I'm sure. He knows how to rough it," Blair assured her. "Okay, I'll think about it. Like I said, no promises." "Fine, we'll take it," Blair sighed, "Now, what's for breakfast." Kaylie glared at both of them, and they laughed, "Joking, okay! We'll help you," Andie laughed. |

Hey, everyone. This chapter is rather short. The next ones will be longer. I hope you guys like it. Let me know if you do, or don't and thanks ahead of time for reading it. I appreciate it. Chapter Two: Smicket's Tragedy Blair and Andie stayed at Kaylie all day. She was about to blow her top. Everytime she was busy doing something, they would interupt her by asking, "Have you made up your mind yet?" She would shout, "No, I have not!" They didn't seem to understand why she was getting so angry. "Maybe it's that time... ya know," Andie whispered to Blair. "I heard that!" Kaylie shouted, "Look, if it will get you two off my back, I will go pack my stuff right now! Okay! Can I now get back to my laundry!" Blair and Andie jumped up and down, excitedly, "You won't regret this, Kaylie! You're going to have so much fun! I'm bringing board games!" Blair exclaimed. "Oh, yay! Board games! I can't wait!" Kaylie said sarcastically. "You'll see. You'll have a great time. It's the event of the season, and Dominic Monaghan... he's so sexy." "Yeah, and maybe his friends will be there. You know, Orlando Bloom, and maybe others," Blair said, with a dreamy look in her eyes. "And not to mention..." The door bell interupted Andie. Kaylie stopped folding her laundry, went to answer it. It was a delivery boy, and he had a package that said 'PetMeds'. "Smicket's medicine. Poor guy might have the F word... fleas," Kaylie sighed. "Just sign right here, and there," said the delivery boy, looking unconcerned about Smicket's fleas. Kaylie was about to take the pen from the man, when Smicket came whizing by, and ran right underneath their legs. Kaylie had a look of horror on her face, "Smicket, no! Here, kitty! Here, kitty!" At that moment, and car came speeding up. Kaylie's heart stood still, as the car hit the poor cat... bump, bump! Kaylie pushed the delivery boy out of the way, and ran to her cat's side. She dropped to her knees beside of him, "Smicket," she said softly, "Baby kitty." "Miss, I'm so sorry! He came out of now where!" exclaimed the driver, jumping out of his car... but Kaylie didn't seem to hear his apology. Nothing else in the world was important at that moment. Kaylie could hear, nor see anything around her. Everyone seemed mute, and invisable. Her poor cat gave a pitiful meow. "...paws...vet..." "Huh?" Kaylie asked, looking blankely at Blair. "We have to get him to the vet, Kaylie! Come on, honey! The car only ran over his paws! Let's get him to the vet!" "Only his paws?" Kaylie asked. "Yeah! Come on! Let's go! He needs to see a vet!" called Andie. The three girls waited as patiently as they could in the vet's office. Kaylie was twisting a strand of her hair, nervously, "They won't shoot him, will they?" "Huh?" Blair and Andie asked at the same time. "You know... when a horse brakes it's leg... they shoot it!" Kaylie cried. "No, honey!" exclaimed Blair, "They aren't going to shoot Smicket! Cat's are different! More like people." "How about amputating him! They aren't going to cut my cat's legs off, are they! How will he walk!" "Oh, brother," sighed Andie, "He barely walks now. He more waddles..." the look on Kaylie's face made her stop, "No, honey, they will not cut your cat's legs off!" At that moment, the vet came out. Kaylie immediately jumped to her feet, "So?" "Smicket is going to be fine, but their will be surgery. He's going to have to wear three casts as well. I'm going to keep him in here a couple of days after the surgery." "Can I stay with him?" Kaylie asked, hopefully. The vet looked confused, "Well, I..." "No, honey, you can't stay," Blair said. "We have to leave Smicket here. She knows what she's doing," Andie told her. "Well... okay. Call me. five-five-five-three-two-one-one... my cell phone number. Call me anytime, okay, and..." "Kaylie, let's go," Blair said, "He'll be fine." "Okay. Bye, Smicket! Take care of my baby, doctor! Treat him like a diplomat! Treat him..." "Okay, Kaylie, you're scaring the vet," Andie sighed, as the two girls had to practically drag Kaylie out of the hospital. "My poor baby!" Kaylie cried. "Your poor baby will be fine. You heard her. Now, we're going out tonight, like we planned, and you are going to have some fun. I won't take no for an answer," Blair told her. "Going out? How can I after what..." "You need to now more than ever. Smicket would want you to," Andie sighed. "You think so?" "Of course we do. Now, let's get home, and get ready. You'll see. You'll have an amazing time," Blair told her, "A wonderful time. You may even make some new friends." |
