((200 word challenge. Posting order: Axcel, Seto, Magimonk, and Skye until further notice.))

The newly formed crew has split up temporarily in order to prepare themselves for any adventure that may await them. Seto, the cooking swordsman, went out to look for various cooking supplies required in order to feed him and the crew. The marksman, Skye, went out looking for vodka being the drunk he is and decided to purchase a scope for his weapon, most likely using stolen money. Alaster, the appointed first mate, left evaluating his own decisions. Things weren’t looking to good in his point of view, and they would need to acquire money in order to get anywhere.

Meanwhile, Axcel had been wandering the streets of Remon Island. He stepped inside a local bar to see if there would be any possible information or hints towards an adventure, or anything worth pursuing. Bars were usually the “hubs” of islands and were great sources of information, gossip, and local rumors. Axcel hopped on to the bar stool, and ordered 5 servings worth of strawberry sundaes. The bartender had an astonished look on his face, most likely thinking something along the lines of “that isn’t healthy”. He took his time eating the tasty desert while he kept his ears open, listening to the words of people around him.

“So have you heard?”,
“Heard what?”,
“About those no good lemon stealing thieves. They’ve been over looked by the town for too long, and now they’re actually being a nuiscance…”
“How so? I didn’t think those kids could do anything harmful if they put all their effort into it. They’re trying to control the economy through lemons for crying out loud”
“I know what you mean, but remember that ship that docked not long ago? Ever since they arrived, those pirates have turned the tables and became…well troublesome. Something needs to be done.”

The sound of a spoon clanging against glass was the result of Axcel finishing his fifth strawberry sundae. He licked his lips clean and got up upon hearing that people had arrived on a ship. All he had to do now was find them, kick their ass, and take their ship. Everyone wins, well except for them. Simple enough, right? That’s how Axcel thought process worked, straightforward and simple.

Axcel had a sly smile on his face as he left the raggedy bar. It was different from the bar the three of his companions had been in earlier, but it was still crappy. He had his hands in his pockets as he walked around, looking for these lemon stealing crooks. He heard some yells in the distant, coming from an alleyway close by. Following the yells were loud ‘thud’ noises. Punching? Sounds like it…or something.

Axcel followed the noise until it led him to a skinny man holding a knife to man’s neck who was standing next to a cart of lemons. Must be a mugging. Jackpot! Axcel smirked with his hands in his pocket and his eyes narrowed at the skinny man with a knife who had been demanding lemons.

Seto stared at the environment around him. The marketplace was still busy, even as it grew later into the evening. The four of them were supposed to meet up back at the spot Seto found himself in now, twelve hours from...Oh, seven hours ago.

Seto sighed as he slumped even farther into a slouching position against the brick wall, fiddling with the toothpick in his mouth. A few villagers walked past the homeless-looking-nineteen-year-old, giving him a few odd looks. He shooed them off with a look of his own...And maybe a small hand gesture.

I'll need to cook the stew sometime... He thought, glancing over at the bag beside him, I suppose I could do that now... Pressing his feet flat against the ground, he lifted himself from his sitting position. Grabbing the bag of food, he began to walk, but stopped in his tracks, with a bit of an irritated look. That baka captain of mine doesn't have a ship...Where the hell does he expect me to cook!? Seto's shoulders slumped down as he blew out a frustrated puff of air with a plew...sound.

He only had a few choices, either save the food now for when they actually got a ship to use then, or "borrow" a kitchen. They didn't have the money to buy meals from a restaurant, and by the time they actually obtained a ship of their own, it was possible that the ingredients he had bought would spoil.

Option two it was, then.

Seto wasn't very good at sneaking. At all. He tip-toed, snickering a bit through a large crowd rather oddly. He got odd stares as he made his way in such an odd fashion, before stopping in the middle of the crowd. Once again, he found he didn't know where he was going.

His head could be seen popping up in random places in the crowd, looking for a restaurant. That seemed his best bet to get to a kitchen. Finally, he laid eyes on a large sign, quite near his original resting spot, labeled "RESTAURANT" in bold, capital letters.

Ah...There's one! He thought, making his way back in a similar fashion to earlier. Soon, though, he realized it wasn't needed at the moment, nor was it working very well, and gave up, returning to a normal stride towards the building.

Seto, upon arriving at the entrance to the restaurant, realized it had been the smae building Axcel had put a hole in with his fist. Peeking into the hole, Seto grinned as he realized it lead to a kitchen. There were cooks inside, however, and he sat, his eye peeking inside the hole for quite a while. Villagers stared more than ever as they watched the seemingly-perverted nineteen-year-old peeking through a hole into a room. It was more innocent than what their minds would decide upon...Sort of.

Seto decided to take a more direct route than break in through the wall, which, he knew he'd be able to break through if that kid of a captain could. Opening the door, looked about the restaurant. It seemed it was quite crowded, Must be a nice restaurant... He thought, before returning to the task at hand. He probably looked a bit out of place with the large bag of ingredients slung over his shoulder. Quietly, he moved along the wall and mostly out of the view of strangers, setting the bag down near the entrance to the kitchen.

It seemed, at the center of the restaurant, a show was being put on by a chef. Seto watched as a food flew up into the air before landing gracefully onto a food plate in place perfectly. Using the skilled chef as cover, Seto made his way into the kitchen. Most of the chef's inside were busy, and Seto was able to slip behind a large crate, where the uniforms the chef's wore were kept. After multiple tries, Seto had to use one that didn't quite fit. It was very tight against him, but he had to use it or be caught.

Awkwardly, he wobbled to the kitchen in his tight uniform, grabbing ingredients out of his bag and setting them on the table in preperation. I just need to get this over with...And get out of here.

Alaster had an odd feeling about the town. As though there was something going on that he wasn't quite sure about. All the people stared at him, as though he was about to strike them down. These were people who didn't see him at the bar fighting either. He tried to pull out of their sight, but they just kept watching. It wasn't an environment that Alaster felt comfortable with.

Just when their sight began to fade, Alaster burst into a back alley in order to escape from view. He then overheard something coming from a nearby shop that explained quite a bit.

"Damn them! They are going to ruin this island at this rate. What are we going to do Jim?"

"Hun, now quiet down. We don't want them to hear you. This isn't much we can do at this point. We should just wait till the marines find out."

"Moron, you should at least have the balls to tell them yourself. If you don't do something soon, I swear I will knock your lights out!"

Alaster at least knew that their was some sort of economic stranglehold on the island, and that they must've been using force of some kind, probably through the use of some hired thugs. That explained why everyone was looking at him suspiciously. It was about time for him to find his captain and crew. He would normally prefer to do this alone, but in this case he could use some meat shi...friends to help him out. They needed to get out of here, and fast.

Skye ran down an empty street. "Crap, I need to get out of here!" He was trying to dodge a few local guards that had happened to see him on top of a roof, with a gun, and a scope, that he may have been looking through. At any other time he might have just shot them but right now he wasn't looking for anymore trouble than he was already in. What's worse is that they were chasing him through broad daylight. Actually then again, it could have been much worse, Marines could have been chasing him.

As he was heading down the street he took a sharp turn into a dark alley. "Ugh...This place smells like..." Skye closed his mouth trying not to gag on the putrid smell. "I hope Seto's cooking isn't this bad." As he was getting past the smell, he realized he was still being chased. Quickly thinking he ducked behind a few barrels. He heard the guard footsteps getting louder. "Where did he go?" Skye kept silent. "He couldn't have gone far. I bet he's part of those lemon bandits." Skye listened as the footsteps now began to disappear.

Getting out from behind the barrels and the alley Skye reached for his vodka. "Ugh, just what I need after getting a whif of whatever the hell that was. Lemon bandits? Whatever, I guess I should find someone from the crew. I think I saw Seto down by where we first split up." Putting his drink back he started back toward the market. "HEY! I FOUND HIM!" As soon as Skye heard that he took off running. "They just never give up do they? Whatever...."

“Heh” Axcel had his basket of lemons thrown over his shoulder as he stood in the alley staring down the lemon pirate. His laugh seemed to attract the attention of the mugger and the mugged. Their heads both slowly looked towards Axcel’s direction, not expecting any one else to come. To the lemon thief, it only meant trouble. On the other hand, for the one being mugged, there was only a feeling of relief.

“Who the hell are you?!” The skinny man with the knife pressed harder against the victims throat, applying more pressure as he shifted his attention to Axcel. He was a bit startled at first, but he regained his composure since he quickly realized that he was part of a ‘powerful’ pirate gang.

“Zenryoku Axcel, and I have lemons.” He replied in a calm tone. He swung the basket that was being held over his shoulder around and dropped the basket flat on the ground. He motioned the lemon pirate with his hand to come and pick it up. The skinny pirate figured Axcel was no threat, so he backhanded the victim to the ground and began walking towards Axcel in order to pick up the lemons.

As he bent over to pick up the lemon basket Axcel pushed off his left leg and raised his right knee, performing a ‘flying knee’ type of attack. The skinny pirate flew and landed on his back, his hand covering his now distorted nose. It was most likely broken, with small amounts of blood escaping through the tight grip his hand had on it.

“Let me add to that. I’m a pirate, and a better one then you are at that. Tell your ‘leader’ that I’m going to find him. Then tell him that I’m going to kick his ass and take both his ship and his pride. Got it?” Axcel said firmly, he picked up the basket of lemons as both the victim and lemon pirate scurried in different directions. The victim was most likely going any place safe, while the other would head back to where his nakama hides out.

Seto gave a sigh as he received odd stares from the chef's in the kitchen, and they began talking quietly amongst each other. "Who's he? New guy?" One leaned into the other to whisper,

"I guess, we'll ask about him later...It doesn't really matter, does it?"

"I guess not..." With the short conversation at an end, both returned to their work, glancing up at random points to take another look at the odd newcomer, in such a tight uniform.

Seto simply began to work on the food, "borrowing" supplies from the kitchen. He knew the recipe from memory, his teachers had pounded them into his brain, so it wasn't hard. Taking out a nice-looking kitchen knife, he began to slice the beef into cubes, working fast.

With a ca-clang, the knife was sent into a pile of dirty dishes and silverware, the beef now in piles of neat-looking cubes. Next, he took a bit of salt and pepper, and began to lightly season the meat. Taking a heavy, 6-quart pot, he began to heat two tablespoons of butter over medium heat. As he waited for the butter to brown, he began to peel four medium-sized carrots, before halving and cutting them into one-inch chunks.

With a sizzle, he added in half of the meat to the pot, which contained now browned butter. Turning the heat to high, the meat began to give off a bit of liquid, which soon evaporated into the air. Five or six minutes after the evaporation, Seto had evenly browned all sides of the cubes. After dumping the meat into a bowl, he began to repeat the process with the remaining meat.

As Alaster was dodging the crowds in the street, it occurred to him that his captain would probably attempt to deal with these pirates on his own. He seemed like that type of person anyway. Alaster slowly debated whether or not he would actually try and stop his captain...or simply watch as he succeeds or fails. He suddenly felt that someone was watching him closely, as though he was being followed. As soon as he could make a turn into an alleyway, Alaster tore off to the left.

He heard the clatter of footsteps increasing their pace behind him. There definitely wasn't just one person on his tail. He swerved back behind a store and continued to sprint away from his pursuers. The sounds of crates and barrels being knocked over echoed behind him. Not only were his pursuers relentless, they were apparently violent as well. Of course, if you are going to pursue somebody, you may as well be violent. It just livens up the mood.

Alaster make a quick turn one more time and noticed an open window. Without taking the time to check what was inside, Alaster leap in and shut the window behind him. He looked around him to see he leaped into some old wine cellar. No one was around, so he thought he would be fine. The people following ran past the window as one of them yelled, "C'mon, that has to be the guy that took out Larry!"

Alaster would never have attacked anyone named Larry, unless he felt like it. He was safe for now, but was even more curious about what was going on.

"Why me?" Skye asked himself as he was still yet, running. "Why must they be so persistent? This is beginning to get real old." Because he was heading down to the market the streets began to get a little more crowded. People were on their way to and from the main road. There was less room to maneuver and more people to dodge. As he was trying to avoid running into people they gave him dirty looks that just screamed "Juvenile Delinquent." Skye probably would have said something to the effect of "Suck it!", had he not been in such a hurry.

"Maybe I could lose them in the crowd." Skye thought heading into a more crowded area. The people began to multiply and soon Skye couldn't run anymore. All he could do was sift through. When he looked behind him, the guards were nowhere in sight. It seems as though he had finally lost them.

The street was filled with gossip. Skye could hear the people talking about what was going on as he passed by. There was one storie circulating around that seemed to be the most talked about. It was about a boy who was on top of a roof apparently ready to assassinate someone. Skye heard a lady say that he was targeting merchants. When Skye heard that story he couldn't help but grin. Wanting to add to their paranoia he put his two cents in. He walked into the conversation and stated, "I heard he was targeting the women. They say he's an escaped convict that was out for revenge against all women, because his mother was abusive." When the womans eyes dilated with fear, Skye turned and walked away. As soon as he was out of eyesight of them, he started to laugh.

Finally he made his way to the hole that their captain punched. Skye spotted Seto cooking in the kitchen. "Well, that works out because I'm hungry..." Skye said as he walked into the restaurant. After being seated he asked a waiter if he knew a chef with blue hair and if he would kindly fetch him. Oh, and if he could bring him some vodka.

Axcel stepped out of the trashy alley that he had been in and glanced around for the rugged merchant who had just been mugged. His eyes looked in every direction, searching through the crowd like an animal picking off its prey. Upon spotting the relatively old man, he quickly made haste and sprinted towards him in order to catch up.

“OI! Wait up!” Axcel shouted as he pursued the man. The man turned his head around to see who it was, and when he spotted Axcel, he only ran faster. Axcel was confused and had no idea why he was running from him, but it was clearly obvious since Axcel stated he was a pirate and the man just doesn’t want any trouble. When Axcel finally caught up, he grabbed the man’s arm to prevent him from running further.

“Why the heck were you running?!” Axcel questioned while he was catching his breath.
“Cause’…cause’ you’re a pirate!” The man retorted, clearly paranoid from what happened earlier.
“So! Not all pirates are bad! Anyways…you can have these lemons.” Axcel said holding his basket out in front of him. He didn’t need them anyways, he was not planning on returning to Karate Island for quite some time.

Now the only issue that remained was what to do next.

The waiter, whom had been asked by a ragged-looking kid in a long coat if he had known a chef with blue hair, looked confused at first. He didn't know a chef with blue hair, and he wasn't sure if there was one. He nodded, however, and went to check the kitchen.

Sure enough, a young, blue-haired chef worked away at the food, and slowly he walked up to the kid. Seto turned to see the chef approaching him, and gave a sigh, Kuso...

"There's someone outside, they requested your presence." The chef said as he neared him, looking him over. There was a small window, which showed a bit of the restaurant, and he pointed towards the kid.

At first, Seto looked very confused at the chef, "Me?", until he was shown whom had requested him.

"Oh, and he wanted vodka..."

"Vodka? He's got enough."

"Wha-?"

The chef was cut off as Seto lowered the heat on his workplace, and made his way outside. That marksman...I still don't know any of their damn names... He wobbled awkwardly due to his disguise being much too small, and he had an irritated look on his face as he finally neared the kid, "Oi, oi. You want to get me caught? Follow me." He did not wait for an answer, he simply turned around, and made his way towards the kitchen. He didn't want to leave the food unattended for long, but as he emerged from the interior of the restaurant and into the kitchen, he realized he had no excuse for bringing the kid in. The chef's were all working busily, and he pointed behind a crate towards a uniform which seemed about his size, signaling for him to hurry. Not having looked back, Seto made his way towards his workplace, hoping the kid realized what he meant.

Alaster pulled his body out of the dank wine cellar when he knew it was safe to come out. He had a feeling that he was going to get wrapped up in this mess. He cracked his neck and made his way out of the alley. He needed to find someplace to hide or avoid people for now. Alaster just needed to sit and think this situation over, it was probably going to be something that he would have to deal with.

The people on the street seemed uneasy about everything, as though they were constantly being watched by some unknown presence. He hated places like this, though they were a step up from towns that didn't know or didn't care that they were being watched...like most marine controlled towns. Alaster began to feel the constraints of the pressure around him. He needed to get out of here before a real problem came up.

The sun had almost set completely, meaning whoever it was who had control of this town would probably come out soon. Even though Alaster didn't want to get involved, he was curious who was doing this. He was also curious how that controlling the lemon economy would make them that much stronger or richer.

"Oi, oi. You want to get me caught? Follow me." Skye got up and followed the swordsman chef to the kitchen. People were busy cooking random dishes that smelled really good to Skye. "God, it looks so good. My mouth is starting to water." Skye hadn't eaten since last night. When he took his looked away from the food he saw that Seto was pointing to a uniform. "He's kidding right...." Seto had turned around and went straight back to cooking. "Apparently not. Either way, there is no way in hell I'm ever going to put that crap on."

Walking around the kitchen, Skye took little bits of what everyone was cooking. Alot of the chefs were looking at him like "What the F---?" But then again you might do the same if some guy were roaming around your kitchen taking your food. Soon Skye came across a fridge that seemed to hold beverages. He was in the mood for something different today. Skye opened the fridge and took out a few ingredients, actually two ingredients, Vodka and apple cider. He poured the vodka into a glass then stirred in some apple cider.

Skye proceeded to walk back to Seto sipping his little concoction called "Fire on Ice." He turned to Seto and spoke, "I might as well be off. I got what I wanted, food and a nice drink. Oh, and one more thing...." Skye reached into his pocket to pull out yet another cigarette, he put it up to the stove flame and let it light. "This can't be healthy for a 16 year old." Skye chuckled as he put the cigarette in his mouth and left the clattering and banging of the kitchen.

“Don't you know how to be quiet?!” A tall and skinny man commanded. He pulled back the cane he wielded and swung it hard against the man’s back. The thing that stood out the most about this man was his goatee and sharp looking nose. He wore several rings around his fingers and wore a jet black coat over a silk white shirt.

Their surroundings seemed to be the inside of an abandoned warehouse. One or two propane tanks were in the vicinity, most likely stolen without a reason but for thrills. Wooden crates were all over the place stacked on top of each other, most likely filled with lemons. This island was a hotspot for lemons after all.

Three others sat amongst the crates clearly showing their superiority over the usually lemon pirates spotted throughout the town. The four of these stayed within the warehouse for now and stuck to the shadows until their time was right. Suddenly the door to the warehouse slid open and a skinny man covering his nose which had blood dripping from it had a panic look in his eyes.

“B-Boss! This is bad!”

-------------------------------------------

Meanwhile Axcel had been wandering the town, seemingly looking for the ringleaders behind the lemon pirates. This wasn’t the case though. He was actually just looking for a bar or any store that could help him achieve a strawberry sundae. Even though he had just recently devoured 5 servings, he was already craving more.

“Zum zum zum.” Axcel said to himself out of complete randomness, his hands behind his head as he walked down the streets of Remon Island. Axcel finally spotted a local restraunt. That should be good enough for him. Several moments later…

“EH?! What do you mean you don’t serve strawberry sundaes!” Axcel slammed his fist against the counter, he was enraged.
“I’m sorry sir. You may find some at the bar down the street though.” The waiter said bowing his head as he apologized. It was ironic that they didn’t serve what Axcel had desired yet a bar did.

So, Axcel did as he was told and went to the bar, sitting and waiting for his delicious desert. That wasn’t the only reason Axcel had went to the bar though, the scrumptious strawberry sundae was merely a time killer. A grin spread across his face as the glass containing his desert slid down the counter and Axcel caught it swiftly. The real fun would start next.

Kuso-kid...He just wants a beating! Seto contained his irritation, and ignored the young marksman as he went around, taking food and drink as he willed from the kitchen. After lighting his cigarette, he took his leave, and Seto received yet more stares from his "fellow" cooks.

Having added in the carrots and onions, they were cooked before he added in flour. Chicken Broth, Wine, and Crushed Tomatoes were added to the mix soon after, along with the rosemary. The beef was slid back into the pot as the liquid began to boil.

Fourty-five minutes later, the potatoes had been added in and the stew was now cooked. The beans were added as it cooked for the final five minutes. Taking the large pot, he easily heaved it with his hand, and grabbed his bag with the remaining, unused ingredients, and kicked towards the hole in the wall. The restaurant was still busy, but hte Chef's had to double as waiters, and none were present in the kitchen. The hole collapsed further on itself as Seto's kick met with the wall, creating a hole large enough for Seto to slip out. Quickly, he darted back in, grabbing his clothing, and darted out.

"This is better!" Seto stretched a bit as he was back in his old clothing. His dark blue jacket, hood hanging lazily at its back, opened as always, showing his bronzed skin. Dark blue, semi-baggy pants, but not extremely baggy so they were in the way, Seidaku and Onshuu at his side. He felt almost naked, vulnerable without them strapped to his right, and he felt reassured that they were there.

"Now...Where is that kuso-kid..." Seto looked through a hooded gaze, finally laying eyes on the long-coated kid. "You..!!" Leaving the pot and bag of ingredients in place, he took off in a dash towards the kid.

Alaster needed to find the other members of his crew. That, or get something heavy to drink. If he was going to have to fight, he didn't want to remember it. He wandered into a bar that didn't know his face and ordered up a hard drink...or nine. Regardless of what he ordered, he sat in the back, out of everyone's view.

As people filed in and out, Alaster began to notice that some of the newer members of the crowd that he was expecting started showing up. They were those that looked less like townsfolk and more like a group of thugs. When they entered, the bartender instantly began catering to them, and everyone else move out of the way. These were obviously the ones Alaster had guessed were the problem.

Out of the blue, his "captain" rushed into the bar and knocked three of those thugs onto the ground. He approached the bar and demanded an strawberry sundae. Alaster's eye twitched. He was hoping to sit back and watch silently, but he had a feeling he would have to get involved at this point. He took the last sip of his liquor and quietly smashed the bottle under his table. No one noticed due to the distraction Axcel had provided him. He cracked his neck and waited for the right moment to move.
