Spade slowly and quietly woke up from his deep slumber, only to find that he was no longer moving. With a confused, yet extremely tired expression, he looked over the side of the small boat he had stolen. At first everything was blurry, but after blinking a couple of times his vision became crystal clear. To his great astonishment, it seemed as if though he had landed on an island, a rather busy island at that. Before him was what seemed to be a large market place with many shady looking merchants of all backgrounds. A rather evil grin slowly started to form on his face as he rose, dusting off his clothes thoroughly.

He looked around the boat to make sure that he had not forgotten anything, then started making his descent into the busy crowd. He would most likely blend in quite well, for those years after he had gotten out, he had survived by swindling and hustling. Something that he had a feeling was not very uncommon here, especially as he got closer and closer. He walked slowly and concentrated hard, there would most likely be a lot of crime here and he was not very keen on the idea of loosing something to a pickpocket. As he was walking however, he quickly noticed the many bounty posters on the wall. He was a pirate, but it could never hurt to check them out.

The buzz of the midday market certainly did seem to draw people into it. As you walked down the street, many people smiled at you and ran towards you, brandishing their wares and shouting prices in your directions. However, after a few seconds they moved onto the next person. All around you ridiculously high amounts of money where being shouted as prices. But that wasn't the only thing you could hear. The cry of "THIEF" seemed pretty common too, though it fell on deaf ears.

Walking through the market, it wasn't the wares or merchants that caught your eye in the end, but the bounty posters that littered the walls. Most where marine issue, and featured such people as "Jason the Bandit, 5,000,000", "Garret "Black Star", 15,000,000" or "Sinbad the Sharkman, 7,000,000"... whoever the hell they were. Apparently they had been seen in this area recently, but judging by the decay of the posters that could be anywhere between now and 10 years ago. One that did catch your eye was one with a crude drawing of a masked man that stated, "WANTED: The Prince of Thieves, 1,000,000 Belli reward from your generous ruler, Greed".

As you stood observing the posters, you where oblivious to the small child creeping up behind you. As he drew closer though, you sensed there was something amiss. Suddenly you felt a hand lurch into your pocket and as you spun round, you saw the back of his head disappear down the street with a handful of your belli.

(500 Belli Stolen, you might wanna go after him :P)

Spade silently stood watching the different posters, seeing all types of criminals. The posters were all rather odd, as they seemed to be old, but then again they could just be ill treated. The criminals on the posters could be among the crowd right now, or they can have been captured ten years ago; it was impossible to tell.

As Spade looked at the various faces, he suddenly noticed a poster that was a little differnt from all the rest. First of all, it said that the reward would be given from the leader, some person named Greed. Secondly, the culprit in the photo, was wearing a mask, making it impossible to tell who he really was.

As Spade stood studying this specific poster, a ominous feeling suddenly krept up his spine. No sooner as he had felt this, did he feel a scrawny hand rumaging around in his pocket. He quickly turned around, only to see the back of the head of a kid who was running for dear life. Oh no you dont, Spade thought as he noticed that the kid had gotten ahold of some of his hard earnt cash. He quickly started giving chase, trying to keep a good watch on the kid so as not to loose him among the crowded streets. He chased and chased, and he felt he was growing closer. However, these little rascals are tricky, so he was prepared for the wort; loosing sight of him.

It was clear the kid had done this before. As you chased him through the crowded streets, he seemed to be easily able to avoid all forms of merchant, obstacle and person alike, while everything he dodged seemed to jump right into your way. While this made it tricky to keep up with him his path could be seen clearly and this meant you at least knew where he was going. Finally, he broke off the main road into a small alleyway, and as you turned into it. You could see his feet disappear into a window on the ground level.

Though it would have been fine if you could have fitted through the window, it was clearly too small for you and that only left one option, the front door. You returned to the street you had chased him off and looked at the front door of the building he had escaped into. The building itself seemed older than the rest of the buildings surrounding it. It seemed to have been made from different material than the other buildings too, suggesting that it had been left while the others where refurbished. Looking at the doorway, you could clearly see the word "Orphanage" engraved in the stone above the door. Just great, you'd been robbed by an orphan.

You could easily walk in and get your money back, or you could let the little bugger get away with it.

Spade chased the boy through the busy streets, having great trouble keeping up as a lot of people were eagerly jumping infront of him, wanting to sell their stuff. However, somehow he managed, maybe due to his knowledge and experience.

He was able to keep up with the kid, but in the end it seemed like the boy had gotten away. He had entered a small window, one much too small for Spade to fit through. Seeing now other way, Spade slowly made his way to the front of the building looking to go in through the door. As he got infront of the building however, he quickly noticed that it was an orphanage, and that the boy was most likely an orphan.

This however, was no real big deal in Spade´s opinion. He has had it worse, being an orphan was nothing that would make you immune to the unwritten laws of the world. If you steal and get caught, it is only fair that you pay the price. With that mentality in mind, Spade firmly walked up to the door, giving two hard knocks and waiting for someone to open.

You knocked the door, but had no need to wait. On the second knock, the door pushed open. Peeking your head in, you could see what appeared to be the main office was deserted. There was an old wooden desk with paperwork covering it, but no person behind it.

As you entered, you couldn't help but noticed the stench, like the place hadn't been cleaned in a long while. The walls where decayed and old too, most of them stained with something, that was probably best left unknown. While it may have seemed like orphanage outside, it seemed more like a prison inside. There was even bars on the door to the next room. Thankfully, they where unlocked as you pushed open the door.

The room was small, and full of bunk beds. The window could be seen on about the level of the top bunks, still open from when the boy had fled through it. However, he was no where to be seen. Pretty strange considering you had walked through the only exit to the place.

He can't have escaped, there had to be something else to this room.

As the door swung open, Spade felt it okay to enter. Even though he could be a ruthless killer at times, he still had good manners, and thought it most rude to enter unannounced. Since the door had opened on his own, he took it as a sign that he could enter. However, as he stepped into the room, he quickly noticed that it was empty. Also, the room in itself looked like it had seen better days. However, he payed little attention to this, afterall it was a rather trivial matter.

Continuing on, he looked up the room with the window in which he had seen the boy enter. After finding it, he quickly realized that it too was empty. However, having come from what seemed to be the only entrance/exit; there was something that was not quite right. Spade started looking through the room thoroughly. He had gotten this strong feeling that this room, or building rather, was used for as a cover for something bigger. As he looked around he was hoping to find some switch or evidence that supported this wild yet possible theory.

No matter how hard you looked, there was nothing else in the rooms. Every wall was damaged, but no signs of secret switches or little levers to open secret rooms. All in all, the room was empty cept for those worn old smelly bunk beds. It was a mystery, one that required sitting a thinking.

Sitting down onto the nearest bed, you couldn't help but feel a sinking feeling, as if you where going down... literally. The bed was sinking down, into the floor, down into a secret basement. As the bed halted you found yourself staring straight at a rather normal looking cave wall.

Raising to your feet, you spun round to find yourself looking down the barrel of about 50 rifles all pointed straight at your head. This hadn't quite been what you'd been expecting, had it?

Looking around, Spade could find nothing that even slightly hinted on a second switch. However he was almost certain that it existed..somewhere. As he walked over to the bed to sit down, give himself some time to think, he suddenly started sinking. And no not sinking into deep thought, but rather into a deep hole. He had found the entrance, but what was awaiting him was really not what he had expected.

Infront of him stood numerous people, all with their guns pointed towards him in a threatening way. With a rather silly smile, Spade slowly lifted his arms into the air as to portray that he surrendered. After that he could only wait and see where and what was going on.

A man at the back of the crowd pushed his way through the armed men. As you saw his face, you instantly realized what was going on. He was the one on the bounty posters, the supposed Prince of Thieves. The man raised his pistol and pointed it towards your head. Behind him you could make out a cowering boy.

"Who are you," he asked quickly, "and tell me are you working for Greed or looking for my bounty perhaps?" It was hard to see what kind of expression the man was making, the mask blocked it.

Another man to the left of him suddenly shouted, "I say we jus' kill him! Be done with him and throw him in the lake!" There was some cheers and agreements, but the masked man growled.

"We are not murderers, we must not lower ourselves to Greed's level!"

Spade looked at the horde before him, some of who were eager to dispatch him, whilst others still had some decensy left. Clearing his throat, he spoke out, "I am but a lost traveller; I came here on a small boat that had led astray. Finding myself on this island, I walked around town trying to learn about my whereabouts, only to get robbed. In desperate need of the money, as it is my soul means of survival, I chased the little critter and ended up here. I hope you will not hold this against me, for it is every mans right to take that which is rightfully his. Now please, would you be so kind as to enlighten me about this Greed fellow, I heard a lot of talk about him whilst making my way through the thick crowds."

As he finished his speech, he looked around, and got the feeling that these were not his enemies. It seemed that this Greed person everyone was talking about was some kind of tyranical leader, and these were some of the people trying to stand up against the supression. Getting small flashbacks from his past, he could not help but feel a deep range inside him slowly start to bubble. Hopefully, if he got some more information from these citizens, he might be able to learn more, and thus make up his mind how to act in the future.

The masked man took a few seconds to listen over your words. The men around him where clearly anxious and ready to kill, but finally the masked man raised his hand, and all of them lowered their weapons and walked away. The boy walked out from behind the masked man and held out the money he had stolen from you. A small glance of his eyes showed he was sorry, but seemed unable to speak the words.

The masked man walked forward after you had taken your money and looked you up and down. "Truly, I am sorry the boy stole from you, he was under the impression that you where one of Greed's men. But anyway, not that this matter has been resolved, I beg of you to turn round and simply leave, telling no-one of this place or the people you've seen here. Please keep this secret, else Greed's men will descend upon us and surely wipe us out."

The man seemed sincere in his plea, and it was compelling not to talk his advice and leave, then again, this could be your best oppurtunity to find out about the situation at hand.

Spade let out a deep breath as the men before him put down their guns, it was a big relief to know that he would survive. Better yet, he might actually be able to get some information here, these people actually seemed as if they might be civilized in contrast to those who plagued the streets above. He looked at the group, and suddenly the little boy that had robbed him earlier appeared, handing Spade his money back. Spade gave him a warm kind smile, as to show how greatful he was that his money was returned. The boy seemed to be very sorry, but brightened up when he saw that his victim was holding no grudge.

"I am amazed that you can trust so easily, especially considering all the different circumstances; you are afterall a very wanted man, even wanted personally by this Greed fellow everyone keeps mentioning. However, you must have good instict, for it is true, I will not tell a soul about this place, not even if it costs me my life. However, I will not leave just yet, please tell me all that you know about this Greed fellow, I will not leave until I have heard the full story. If you refuse to tell me, then I will simply seek the information elsewhere, however that will undoubtedly receive much attention and might endager my life."

The Masked man looked you up and down. He chuckled slightly then said, "In my line of business you learn how to read someone and tell what their like. Plus, I know when a man is lying to me or not." He took an extra couple of seconds to take in who you where, looking at your features, your clothes, just generally who you where.

"Very well," he said eventually, "I will tell you the story of the Sins, but afterwards I ask that leave here, and if you can leave this island before they find you." The man motioned for you to sit down on one of the chairs next to you. He too sat down in one before starting the story.

"It all happened four years ago, all in one night. You see back then this island was known as the Rizetto Kingdom and was ruled over by a royal family who lived in the royal palace at the center of the island. However, that one night, they came. Seven ships, each packed to the brim with thousands of pirates led by seven people, claiming that they where the seven cardinal sins. Pride, Lust, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Gluttony and Greed. They quickly stormed through our port town, destroying it in a matter of minutes. By the time the army had been assembled to fight back they had claimed half the kingdom to themselves, and the war begun. The army of the emperor was strong and valiant, but against the numbers of the sins they were doomed from the start. Within a week, they had reached the royal palace. The greatest battle the kingdom had ever seen ensued, and amongst the chaos, the Sin Greed assassinated the emperor. With the prince missing and the emperor dead, the island fell under the control of the sins easily."

The masked man took a short break, then continued, "For four years they ruled over individual sectors, dividing the island into 7. For four years, we have remained in Sector 2 monitoring Greed. With the ridiculous prices in this sector, my organization sets out to steal from the guards in order to keep the citizens alive. That is why the boy stole from you, you look like one of them really... Now that you know the full story, please, I beg of you to escape this island. Bring help, bring an army! It's the only way the island can be reclaimed!"

With this the masked man was on his feet again, and all the thieves around turned to look at him. He shook his head slightly and looked down at you. "Now, I have planning to do, the exit is the same as the entrance, so please just go." Before you really had the chance to say anything, he turned and walked away.

Spade listened closely to all the man had to say, and as he was doing so a million questions were one by one being formulated in his mind. However, he sensed that what the man had to say was all he was ready to say, and he was not going to try to force any more information out of him. Once the man had finished, he made it clear that that was it, and silently left. Spade thanked the man for sharing what he knew, and then turned heading for the door. Having got robbed was working to his advantage, he did afterall get his money back, and he even got some really valuable information to boot.

Spade went back to the upper floor and then out of the orphanage doors, back to the wild market outside. He smiled as he looked around, seeing all the greedy people infront of him. If there was one thing that he knew about greedy people was that they loved money, and since that was the case there was bound to be some sort of gambling service around. Spade had quite the gambling skill, and he was sure that with it he could stir up some trouble and maybe possibly get some more information. With his mind made up he started scouting the area for any possible gambling stations.
