(Hopefully this topic will contain a condensed history of the events on the island. The first post will be the most detailed as it is covering the history of the island and at least for this one it is a story for a character. ) The story so far... The waves rolled against the sands of the the small deserted island bringing with them all kinds of debris. Mostly just broken wood that looked like it had belonged to some fine, royal ship. On the only large piece that was washing up, the figure head a black puppy dog's head, there clung a man. His clothes were torn in places and he had a large bump on his head, but looked in good shape otherwise. As the figurehead ran aground the man was thrown from it across the beach into a tree face first. He fell to the ground and rolling onto his back began spluttering and coughing up water. When he had finished he picked himself up and dazedly observed his surrounding the best he could. The beach was truly a small part of the island it almost immediately gave way to soil and trees of every different kind peppered the landscape. From palm trees to pine trees and everything in between. Animal's could be seen darting around the hodgepodge forest. They were almost as varied as the trees. Getting a sudden thought the man was jarred out of his thought and stood straight as a stick. “Who am I again?” He asked bewildered. ... ...... ........... ..................... “AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” He screamed and began running around the beach. “I'm alone on a deserted island with all kinds of dangerous animals and I don't even know who I am! This is a disaster! This is a catastrophe! This is the end of the world as we know it! This is . . . Kind of cool!” He had suddenly stopped and really looked around, this island looked really fun! Plenty of food. Lots of company. All the debris he could rummage through. This could be interesting for at least a while. “I'm hungry. Time for some food! Wait a sec. . . I remember something! You may call me TIM!” Tim exclaimed and headed into the forest Jumping up and grabbing a branch That was hanging a few feet above his head he began swinging through the forest until he reached a point where there were no low hanging branches. He then began running through the forest until He came across a large dog in his path. He stepped onto it's back and propelled himself up into an apple tree. As he chomped down on an apple Tim got to thinking, but spoke aloud since there was no one there to call him crazy. “There are plenty of plants to eat but I am going to need something to hunt with. I am going to want meat too. After all I am a man. . . How do you start a fire again?” As Tim sat musing a large squirrel about the size of a cheetah darted around behind him in the tree. Tim was oblivious however as he tried to think of how to cook his meat when he caught it. It loomed over him as he sat cross legged in the tree lost in thought until the squirrel, a grey and black thing with a wooden crown on it's head, tackled him with no warning and a chirped battle cry of *chicka*'s and *Cheep*'s. They were knocked out of the tree and fell to the ground Tim on the bottom. The squirrel was about to bite him with it's massive front teeth But Tim was able to kick his leg backwards into the creature's . . . nuts the creature's eyes went wide as it rolled away from Tim and kept rolling back and forth on the ground. It's crown fell off and Tim picked it up as he stood up. “That's what you get when you mess with me!!” he screamed and put the crown on his head. “I will conquer this island with my iron fist!!!” He said with confidence until out of the forest flowed squirrel after squirrel filling up the forest as far as the eye could see. Tim was getting nervous and as soon as he stopped seeing new squirrels he took a look around. They were everywhere. Every branch, every place that could hold their weight. He looked down at the now immobile giant squirrel and then to the dog sized squirrels surrounding the body then to the regular sized squirrels that were blanketing the landscape. “Heh, heh, heh.” He forced out, “This isn't what it looks like I swear. . . He fell. Yeah, that's right. He fell.” The squirrels advanced towards him menacingly and Tim began shielding his eyes but when nothing happened after the first few minutes. He chanced a glance and saw the most peculiar sight he had ever (To his knowledge) seen. The squirrels were bowing to him each and every one. Their heads were lowered to the ground and suddenly one of the squirrels larger than normal but not as large as a dog walked forward. “You are the new king of Siam. You defeated the previous king.” The squirrel suddenly said. Tim blinked twice and then... “AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAHHHHHH *deep breath* AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHAAAHHHH! A talking squirrel!” he screamed and began running jumping over the squirrels that he could and grabbing a low hanging branch propelling himself away from the horde of squirrels however they chased him through the forest. He tried to lose them but swerving did him no good. Suddenly he ran into a wall or the equivalent of one. He looked up. . . and up. . . and up again. It was the largest kangaroo he had ever seen, and it was looking at him. “AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! I. . . mean. . . nice to meet you sir *Growl* MAAM! I'll... just be... going!” He said and tried to run to the right of the kangaroo but it moved it's foot and blocked him with a loud crash. “O-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k you don't want me to l-l-l-l-leave.... What do you want with me?” The kangaroo suddenly seemed to get hearts for eyes and held it's hands up in an adoring posture. “Oh, hell no.” Tim said as he stood up from his cowering posture. “Look I am sure you are very attractive to another kangaroo, but I don't swing that way. I keep to the human girls.” The kangaroo suddenly growled and lifted its right foot again this time looking to stomp on Tim. Then the squirrels came. They swarmed out of the forest and onto the kangaroo biting with their large front teeth and eventually toppling the monster kangaroo. Tim stared and the talking squirrel came up to his side again. “She always has a thing for royalty.” He said and sanctimoniously nodded. “Now where were we? Oh, yes I was going to tell you about the perks of being king of the Squirrels...” And so Tim became the king of the squirrels, the dominant race on the island of Siam. The of only two speaking animals on the entire island was Mortimer the Squirrel who became Tim's chief adviser and contact with the animals. Tim was learning squirrel but the progress was slow. Over the first month he was king Tim's thirst for power grew. . . “Why do we allow the cats to laze about when they could be working?” Tim mused in the royal apple tree with Mortimer and the royal guard. “Well you see sire the cats protect us from the birds. The bane of our existence. We are unable to find their base but we believe it is in the old pine in the center of the forest. On top of the big hill.” Mortimer chipped and clicked. “To force the cats to work would be allowing the birds to invade with impunity.” “So if you have a good idea of where they are then why don't we attack them? We have the numbers advantage and I feel like chicken.” Tim said with a smile. And so it began. The great Bird/Squirrel war. Tim was still figuring out how to make fire so they could not simply burn the tree down and Tim was not much use in the fighting since he could not climb The Pine to help in the fighting. . . That is until he invented the S.A.F.E. (Squirrel Air Force Eh?) in which he would grab squirrels by the tail and throw them at any birds he could see fleeing The Pine. The victory was swift and fierce. The birds were caged and placed around the forest so it was filled with their song. The cats put to work building a sort of temple to Tim. The squirrels carved a statue with help from the beaver masons. The dogs became guards around the forest. The monkeys and several other animals shared the duty of changing the bird's cages and altogether the island grew in prosperity. However there is a small group of animals led by an angry badger and his band of rag tag animals including a three legged dog, the former king of the squirrels, and an eagle who knows the human tongue. Steadily as Tim grew mad with the power he held over the the animals over the island the rebellion grew starting with the cats but they were little help since they were always trying to eat the birds in the rebellion. A faction of dogs joined but they were not much help since they were always chasing the cats. The rebellion was in shambles. The relationships on the island just did not work without the leadership of the squirrels, and the old king was no use without his court. There was nothing other than token resistance until one day when a band of humans appeared to lead the rebellion to charge the royal apple tree. What will happen in the war to come???? |
