I'm creating a public park. It's going to be a massive world tree-looking structure. It's going to be made out of wood, look like a massive tree, and have walkways through the bottom of the park, as well as around the world tree itself. World Tree Project redux: The World Tree is starting anew. That said, contributors will need to be added to a list of trusted individuals, who will have access to the construction supplies to prevent rampant looting. They'll be called Park Rangers in the Tree museum/memorial The Tree still has standard features to take note of: A tree farm for generation of material, a reed farm to generate the library, and a requirement of a steady source of coal, sand, and cobblestone for continuation of construction. Decorative items such as flowers and paintings would also be appreciated. Edited by murlocdummy, Jan 8 2011, 09:11 AM.

I was just wondering if it is ok to create a tower at the very top of the mountain, promise it would look awesome. If not just tell me and I will destroy it. Thanks |

The World Tree Park project is currently in the excavation phase. A majority of the dirt and sand needs to be terraformed, creating a more or less flat surface of dirt at sea level, which is height 64. The width of the tree is going to be 8 blocks. Yes, it will be massive. The tree's height has yet to be determined. The nearby tree farm needs to be extended, as well. If someone could handle that, it would be much appreciated. You can extend the farm into the desert, placing dirt blocks at regular intervals. The trees will grow fine so long as there's at least one dirt block. |

Also, the nearby reed farm can be regularly harvested to provide for the bookshelves in the World Tree Public Library. The trunk is currently 64 blocks of wood above sea level. To construct it, stand at the base with a 63 pack of wood, look down, then hold right mouse button and spacebar. The branches and roots of the tree are planned to be large and knotted, with the roots growing throughout the ground, creating archways and bridges. The branches are going to contain various buildings, and maybe even end up having plots of land for users in the future. Currently, a library is planned for construction. If interest permits, the World Tree can be extended underground to increase its height, which would require a rather massive excavation effort. Feel free to contribute to the effort! |

I'm thinking about collecting a list of names of people that have contributed to the project. If you've contributed, post your game name and your contribution in the relevant thread. I'm thinking about creating a Tree museum with the names of the contributors placed as exhibits.
