My brother has autism, and while he always got good grades in school, he never really fit in. This was back in the days before people really had autism diagnosed, so he just knew he was different, but tried to fake the part around his friends and what not. Later after he was diagnosed as having autism and the family came to understand and accept his differences and special needs better, my brother said that he felt much better himself, as he said that he always felt as if he were an actor or something, never really being himself before.

I know myself that although I don't have autism, I definitely do have some social inadequacies going on at times.

Taluigi, Autism is a syndrome I have. It's called Asperger's Syndrome but to shorten it is autism. It is commonly made fun of because people call autistic kids retarted, dumb, etc. "Special" is a word I'm not sure about.

Yeah, I don't like when people make fun of me cause of my autism... (that only happens 1%)

People also seem to think kids get autism from vaccinations. That is NOT true, because I have had autism since I was born, although my parents didn't find out until I was 5 years old.

I have the same syndrome too but since last year I've never been fit in around people at college. I often tend to miss the people from my childhood just because of that - believe me, it was satisfying when everyone liked me back in the elementary/high school days... now that I'm in my SECOND year at college, I'm still suffering the opposite situation.
