Capsfan is correct in "calling my bluff" that I wouldn't go to his ISP about him harassing my organization because he hasn't really harassed us. The reason why Capsfan got banned is that he thought it's acceptable for him to go tell his bros that he's going to try and fuck up the PHL by impersonating people on every team on Monday. Then I talked to some people about it, including Capsfan's GM, and a lot of them felt that the punishment I gave Capsfan was too severe. In response to this, I unbanned Capsfan under the condition that he apologize and admit that threatening to wreak havoc on the league by impersonating people on every team wasn't the best thing to do, and that perhaps he acted out of line because he was frustrated for one reason or another. However, when I unbanned him, rather than do this he continued to taunt me and refused to admit that he stepped out of line in threatening this organization. Having violated the conditions under which I was willing to unban him, he was banned again. I gave Capsfan a chance, and even told Toke that my punishment might have been too severe for the case. I was able to see Toke's reasoning very quickly (we talked for no more than 5 minutes before I decided to unban Capsfan) and I gave Capsfan the benefit of the doubt and a second chance, to which Capsfan was not a man enough to accept. |

where you went wrong, hk, is when you told capsfan to "beg for forgiveness". you would even be wrong to simple say "just say sorry" why? because your the person that should be saying sorry. you even admited it yourself. your actions were too harsh. yet i saw no apology. sure capsfan might have gone a bit too far to make you feel e-threatened about trolling on mondays, but not enough for any action agaisnt him. If the time came on monday when capsfan was trolling, then thats when you ban him. why apologize to a leader that cant lead? i would never apologize to you for anything that happened between you and capsfan |

Also Boss if you want to say it's just me taking out my frustrations or whatever, you have to realize that any time anything comes up where someone does anything to belittle the amount of work that I or any of the other several people that help out do, I have the same essentially cookiecutter rant about how much time and effort we devote to PHL and you are retarded, brain damaged, or an ungrateful ho. |

duh. wireshark is insanely powerful, it basically captures all incoming and outgoing traffic on your computer you can make it filter for only the UDP protocol (what haxball uses) you can make it filter only the source IP (you, the host) if you have other people on your network (get your IP through ipconfig on windows) you can filter out known IP addresses (some haxball IP address will basically poke you every few seconds (checking the current player count / making sure you are still there probably)) this leaves only a dozen or so IPs at any given time. if you have the timestamp of when a player was kicked, you can cross reference that with the IPs before and after the kick you can do a process of elimination to identify the ip address of the person who was kicked (I also discovered that I can also use the filter "ip.src==[my ip] and icmp" to determine the person I kick/ban much faster, but it is timing specific (unreliable), if anybody knows a better way please step forward) somebody said froz3n was an impersonator tonight in my pubs, i captured data before and after kicking the impersonator it took me 40 minutes to identify the IP address of "froz3n", checked with HK and it turned out it was actually froz3n (somebody made a false accusation) we will catch the impersonator if they do it again and get called out for it while I'm hosting also please do not casually accuse people of impersonation, no need to start a witch hunt over nothing |
