January 1st,2011. Basro told me about it. Long story, actually. I went hunting for news about another game (old DOS game called liero, from 10-15yrs ago). After some chitchat with basro and liero's owner(Joosa), basro referred me to hb. The Beginning...
Played for a while, it was fun.. but i was caught up with so many other things and helping to manage another game i play as an all-around admin, that i gradually faded away from HB. The return... July7th, i came back to play haxball again and to chat with basro to see how things are goin. First thing he does is give me a link to a new beta game he is working on with a few others: LIERO!!! U guys dont know how excited i was to learn they were remaking liero to be online,multiplayer (no acount needed, just like haxball)-- exactly like the original classic with addition of a few popular fan-made mods. He's added me as a beta tester:D (the game has progressed a lot since then, but hasnt been released so i cant share the link yet, sry) Anyhow, since then, i've been playing HB while keeping up with liero news. As my interest/addiction to haxball grew,i sought out hb communities like this one and decided to join:) The Present... Nowadays, i've found myself spending less time with It's War (my old game), more time with Haxball-- but i'm still there to help resolve issues 'n things, or chat with the troops from time to time. The game itself is fun and has been fully playable for a long time-- it just lacked updates for long periods of time. Some time ago, the older owner (Numpty) relinquished ownership of IW to Mukke, who has been doin a hell of a job working on a recoding of the game as well as a new version of it at the same time. Anyone who is interested in browser-based war game should check it out. Its tick-based -- meaning, every action requires a number of "turns" or "Moves" to perform (shoot, heal, repair, drive,fly around, etc). And as time passes, you gradually replenish your 'moves'. Its an easy game to play alongside Haxball or any other game, since it doesnt require full attention most of the time. It might seem slow to new players, but for those who have played tick-based games before, it'll be pretty fast-paced because of the one-minute ticks. playing since mid december 2010. A friend told me about it. we started out as 2 vs 2. some may remember us as the similey face / sad face duo that went undefeated forever. [ =) and =( ] I was orginally sad face, but when he quit i became happy face (the history behind my avatar) Then i specialized in 1 vs 1 after that. aloneforever.jpeg |

haha, funny... read the whole post:p I came to chat with basro about another game. I played some games that day (fun, random entertainment), but i didnt stay with hb for more than a week. Wasn't till i joined PHL, that i began to play srs and worked to improve my playing abilities. Edited by Mo2, Sep 26 2011, 10:02 PM.

/sp/. Sometime in November or December last year. Pretty much original settings: corpses, only classic field, no in-game menu, no subs. |
