With a mighty stretch and grunt, Jaden spilled out “Yeah, I guess so,” on a wave of smoker breath, hands clawing at the sky. They swung like pendulums back to his sides and then there was a sudden tiredness to him in the way his body swayed, like the feeling had been drained out of them. He sighed and dipped his head ever so slightly, demonstrating how the tiniest inclination could cast intimidating shadows over his eyes. All the jokes and jabs at Delilah that were bubbling in his throat dropped like stones and the lopsided grin splitting his face in two pulled back into a grim line. Talented was the psychopath who could imitate emotions to such a genuine degree. This was the Jaden Duforde whose face was plastered on wanted posters around the wasteland. This was the Jaden Duforde that stood unmitigated atop the smoldering ruins of Ecruteak. This was the Jaden Duforde that tens of thousands of people went to sleep at night fearing. He knew she was scared of this Jaden, even if it was the tiniest infinitesimal ember of fear, and she knew he knew. It made their partings fun.

He quirked a thick eyebrow at her. “So, where do you plan on going?”

Delilah crossed her arms tightly against her chest. She could tolerate Jaden usually -- maybe even trust him in a small, strange way. However, now he had switched to the notorious Elite Jaden, on of the most feared of the Yami no Kaze. It was a little...unsettling to her, even despite how well she knew him. And he knew it too, which just made it worse.

"I don't know. Not Fuchsia, though," the woman replied. "I'd probably be better off heading the other way."

Delilah was pretty sure the camp Jaden had found her at wasn't too far from where she was. With luck, she could stumble across it, and get some of her stuff back, like her gun. She happened to like that gun quite a bit, it was rather reliable.

Ashton allowed herself to lean back again, holding onto the ribbons keep herself from falling backwards. She waited until the large bird was level with her. Blood Raven didn't seem too happy about the interruption, but that would change quickly whens he heard the news the Minion had for her.

Actually, happy is a terrible way to describe what she'd be. It'd probably be more along the lines of pissed, but at least it wouldn't be towards Ashton.

"Well, I know of a certain Elite who's been fraternizing with a certain enemy~"

The girl couldn't help but smirk. It was hard to believe how much good luck she had just stumbled across, waiting for the Mistress to discover.

"More specifically, Jaden Duforde. In fact, he's with her right now. Riiiight over there." Her head turned, and she jabbed her thumb in the direction she was indicating. "Worse yet, he even saved her life. She was as good as gone 'til he showed up, took her off, and patched her right up!"

It was hard not to feel giddy from this. The Minion couldn't help but grin widely, despite her words making it out to be a shame.

Suck ups like her really pissed Blood Raven off. However, today was the final face off, so the Elite couldn't stay irked at the Minion for long. She knew something was up between Jaden and that other woman for a while now. Keiichi had told her -- with a bit of... prying -- how the three of them had met when the Chaos was still incubating in the hearts of the Dreamers all those years ago. Blood Raven simply ignored the fact that Jaden was once 'good' in favor of his evil personality. Whether he was bipolar or not made no difference to the YnK's leader.

What mattered was how much destruction her puppets could rend. Jaden and that prototype Rogue Rayquaza had done their share of work, especially in the Hoenn region.

"Why don't YOU deal with them for me?" Blood Raven inquired, a sly grin melding onto her lips. She leaned forward, her tongue swiping over ruby lips. "I'm saving my appetite for the Legend's blood. Wouldn't want to spoil my meal with a few... desserts." She raised an eyebrow at the dangling Minion. "You can prove your true loyalties to me by getting rid of both of them."

~*~

Meanwhile, Shinyuu had already rallied the KnS forces, as few as they were, within the walls of Fuchsia. Keiichi stood in the shadows and merely watched as the Warriors and Heroes looked to the boy -- no, he was a man now -- in awe. The former Pharaoh knew for a fact that Shiynuu wouldn't admit his superiority; it just didn't fit his personality.

A "hey" brought Keiichi out of his thoughts. "I hope I did okay," the ravenet said sheepishly, bringing one of his hands to the back of his head.

"You did spectacularly," Keiichi said, no sarcasm coating his tone. "They really believe in you. But the question is, do you believe in yourself?"

A shrug. "I dunno."

Keiichi sighed, running a hand through his own long black locks. "You've been practicing those martial arts moves I taught you? They'll disarm the Bitch if you get in close enough range." A nod. "Good." At this, the older man pulled out two used tonfa, which he spun in both hands. It had been a while since he used these.

A golden gaze and a bright smile. Lily white hands offered the tonfa to him. "Promise me that you'll take care of these, okay?"
His hands overlapped hers. "Always."

Keiichi's grip tightened around the weapon as he looked east, where the rest of his former troops stood ready to attack.

Contrary to what Delilah thought, the camp was actually much further off than she probably estimated, and she was likely to be limping for an awful long time before she got anywhere near it. The thought of her wandering down the dusty road with literally nothing on her for protection was only slightly amusing, though. She risked death heading off unprepared like that, and if Jaden hadn’t made it clear yet, neither of them would be dying unless the other saw fit. If she killed him before it was time or vice versa, then the traitorous nature of their meetings was promised to make it to the top of their respective teams no matter what. They planned for these things, you see. They made sure there wouldn’t be any misunderstandings within their “relationship”.

Leave it Jaden, however, to shit all over these rules. He revealed a gun- Delilah’s- and pointed it at her head in a fluid motion, a click suggesting that maybe he wasn’t playing around this time. There wasn’t anything to go by in his face or posture, so for a few tense moments, it was unclear as whether he was truly serious or simply playing around in his own sick way. Then, a tiny smirk pulled at the corner of his mouth and he flipped the gun around so the barrel was in his hand, presenting the handle for Delilah to take. Perhaps there was something bullshittingly symbolic in the action. Perhaps Jaden just liked screwing around with fate.

Just as quickly as it came, however, Nightmare chased it away with a low, deep hiss from her Poké Ball.

Jaden, she warned, something’s wrong.

Her apprehension pressed against his mind in a way that she didn’t normally intend for, causing him to look up suddenly. She was concerned. And when Nightmare was concerned, she got angry. The great Rogue dragon’s Poké Ball tumbled out of his pocket and onto the ground, where it twitched and jerked around violently. A thick, black aura oozed out of the seams, obscuring it with sickly tendrils, and then with a pulse that went out in all directions, jagged shapes shot forth from the murk and took on a serpentine figure decorated with blazing cyan markings, amber dots at the front. The tainted aura peeled away from Nightmare’s body and faded into nothing, revealing her marred hide strip-by-strip until there was nothing left but the typical Rogue haze.

Jaden caught the ball as it shot back into his hands and watched as Nightmare leaned down to inspect the both of them with a critical eye. Her pupils were so thin and faded by the Chaos that it almost didn’t seem as if she even had any. It was awfully intimidating, even still to Jaden, but he didn’t very much mind it anymore. The Rogue then brushed her snout against Jaden’s head, forcing him to turn in the direction she wanted him to look: toward Blood Raven and Ho-Oh in the distance. But what else was that with them? Someone else?

“What- What is it?” he asked. He received no answer. Above, Nightmare merely stared out toward the figures on the horizon, undulating slowly.

Delilah wasn't exactly expecting a gun to be whipped out and pointed to her head, but nevertheless, she didn't even flinch. Her eyes merely stared at the barrel of it for a small moment before looking up at the man holding the weapon. His face didn't betray his intentions, and hers was expressionless. She had a lot more than a gun pointed at her throughout the years of Chaos, sometimes even with Jaden being the one doing it.

Eventually, his usual irritating smirk returned to his face, and he turned the gun over, handing it to her. Delilah's usual frown returned to her features as she took it, tucking it away safely for when she would inevitably need it later. Hopefully it still had plenty of bullets left in it.

The Elite's stupid lizard decided to make an appearance, and Delilah's frowned deepened as she took a small step away from it. Understandably, she didn't exactly trust Rogues, especially not huge, dragon-like ones that probably wouldn't have any trouble eating her whole.

However, something seemed to be troubling the Rayquaza, and when she nudged Jaden's head to look over, Delilah did the same. her eyes squinted as she peered through her glasses; it was rather far away, and it was hard to make out much. Of course there was that bigass bird that belonged to the Bitch, but was there something else there too?

~x~

Ashton frowned. This was definitely not the reaction she expected. She thought Blood Raven would be rather pissed at the Elite's betrayal, and would just swoop down and finish the job quickly, allowing them to continue on their way to Fuchsia once more. (Perhaps after all was said and done, there could also have been a little promotion for a certain loyal Minion, too...)

Now she wanted her to take care of the two. Alone. With no help. Her brown eyes glanced over to the two specks, still standing where she had left them. It seemed as if Jaden had already let nightmare out as well. Did he suspect what was going on? Was he planning to leave quickly? Whatever she was going to do, she would probably have to do quickly before he did. She turned back to her Mistress.

"Erm, well, y'see...," the young woman began, frowning. "I really would love to just go off Jaden -- really, nothing would make my day more -- but there are a few problems. Namely his pet sky lizard."

Ashton tried not to make it seem like she was afraid to fight Jaden (because she was definitely not), but did the Mistress really expect her to go up against an Elite with a Rogue legend and win? Plus that scientist was there to help him out, though she wasn't sure if she had her Pokemon with her, or really anything at all to do so.

Blood Raven nearly snorted. At least the kid had the decency not to ask for help. That was the first thing that the Minions were taught: ask for assistance, and you'd get shot. If you were caught by the Elite herself, she'd take the honor of shooting. Nevertheless, the kid did have a point. At this realization, Blood Raven tugged an Aura Ball off of her belt.

Once she chucked it a black serpentine creature appeared, though it was much smaller than the Rayquaza. "You can use Cascade," the YnK leader responded, gesturing to the Milotic. "This wouldn't be much of a test if I... assisted." Blood Raven glanced over at the two specks in the distance before ordering the Ho-Oh to give them a warning.

The Johto Legendary gladly obliged. Two flaps of its mighty wings allowed it to rise to such a point that its shadow blanketed a good portion of the ground below. A terrible screech ripped through the immediate vicinity as flames bubbled from its beak. The moment it was fully charged, a mighty Flamethrower ripped through the air towards the supposed traitor and KnS member.

~*~

Everyone's head shot up once Ho-Oh's cry was heard. Before Shinyuu could charge forward, a tanned arm blocked his path. "She will not attack yet," Keiichi said. "She's waiting for sundown, for that is when she will be at her greatest strength."

"Then what the hell was that?" Shinyuu asked, eyes narrowing.

"I shall investigate. Stay here and placate your troops." The former Pharaoh began to walk forward but was stopped as his left wrist was grabbed.

"Wait." Keiichi glanced over his shoulder. Emotions swirled in the younger man's chocolate irises. "Promise me... promise me that we'll face her together."

A hint of a smile appeared on Keiichi's face. "Now that, Satoshi, is a promise I can keep." Once his wrist was freed, Keiichi revealed a Pokéball. Carmine light revealed a bright blue dragon with two mauve wings. Keiichi hopped upon his Salamence's back and pointed to the gates.

"Titan, I need you to take me past them undetected by the Gale. Are you prepared?" Keiichi asked as he placed a reassuring hand on the dragon's neck. At a nod, the duo took off.

Following her fellow Legend’s fiery display, Nightmare reared up and unleashed a beam of chaotic energy into the clouds, punctuating it with a deafening roar that went out for miles. She would not be outdone by that pompous phoenix. Below, Jaden looked grim.

“What’s going on, Nightmare.” It wasn’t a question because he knew exactly what this was about.

The Mistress no longer requires our assistance.

Hearing it put that way made a chill race down his spine. Jaden had spent five years with the Yami no Kaze wreaking unimaginable havoc upon the regions. He had become one of the most infamous and powerful Elites. Blood Raven trusted him. And it wasn’t until now that he realized just how deep the shit was he would be in. All the planning, all the secrecy- it was for nothing. She had to be furious with him, and that-

No. No, that did not fucking scare him. Not in a million years. Yet the way he stared at his feet was clearly hesitation. His mind didn’t know what the hell to do with itself. Conflicting thoughts rammed into each other and hopped from subject to subject without any rhyme or reason reminding him all too much at that day years ago when everything went wrong and spiraled out of control and Christ he didn’t know what the fuck to do now-

Jaden.

He looked up.

My loyalties lie with you. This we know. The question, however, is…

She brought herself down to his level and fixed a blazing amber eye on him like she had when they first met.

Where do yours?

For the first time since that night on the beach, Jaden felt small under her gaze. How blind did he have to be if a dragon saturated with mindless chaos could see the answer but he couldn’t? He glanced at Delilah and felt like a complete imbecile. How in the unholy Hell was she going to take the decision he was about to make?

Jacob came to mind, and then Jaden looked back up at Nightmare’s giant eye without a word.

That’s what I thought. She’s sending that meddlesome pest here with one of her own Rogues. Get on. We’ll make our stand here.

Jaden did so without question, taking his place in the makeshift saddle behind her head. Then, he regarded Delilah with an almost threatening glare. “This doesn’t change anything between us. Not yet.”

Delilah looked up suddenly as a huge, bright tongue of fire lit up the sky, accompanied with a shriek from the Ho-Oh. Jaden voiced the question that was still in Delilah's mind, though the way he said made it seem like he was looking for a confirmation rather than an answer. She quickly realized the that they had been found out, and they were all probably about to die. Wonderful.

For a second, her mind blocked out everything around her as her thoughts raced through her head quickly. They could probably escape with that damned Rayquaza, though being a Rogue, Delilah wasn't completely sure if it'd remain loyal to Jaden or not. Even so, she still doubted whether or not he'd bring her along. She'd known him for years, and it was still hard to predict his actions.

Most importantly, however, what would this mean for Jacob? Delilah had only given him to Jaden because of his status as an Elite. She hated to admit he'd be safer with him, but when it came to her son even she was willing to swallow her pride.

The woman looked up and caught Jaden's eye when he glanced over at her. She quickly pulled herself from her thoughts and tried to prepare for whatever was going to happen next. He climbed up onto Nightmare, and she assumed he was preparing to escape, but he took her by surprise when he spoke to her.

What the hell was he planning?

~x~

Ashton still wasn't very happy about this, but she didn't show it. After all, this was supposed to be a test, and the girl planned to ace it. Plus, she could get rid of Jaden, something she had longed to do, but never really had the opportunity until now. Her brown eyes shifted over to the Milotic. Could that thing really help much with the legendary? Well, she couldn't really doubt it now, so she'd just have to go along with it.

"Yes, Mistress," she replied simply, her expression now serious. She couldn't fail this.

The Minion wasn't too thrilled about the Ho-Oh's warning. She'd much rather try a sneak attack and kill them as quickly as she could. Well, with any luck, they'd expect Blood Raven to come swooping down and won't be looking for her. She quietly instructed her Drifblim to descend, which it obliged, disappearing beneath the treetops below before quickly flying towards their targets, the Milotic following. Her Ghost Pokemon was silent as it swept past the trees, barely above the ground, and she remained just as quiet, gripping her Pokemon tightly with one hand, while releasing a second Ghost Pokemon with the other.

This one was one of her favorites to use; he was quiet and very deadly, easily killing from the shadows. Hopefully he'd be just as effective in this situation.
