Hey, condog.

You see, you have pretty interesting animations. I've been checking out some posts around your thread, and you claim to go for a realistic effect. I'm going to aboard a more important matter right now.

I don't want to make any comparisons, but as you may know, many people have followed this Crono fellow applying the same style to their animations. I really don't know why people do this, a shortcut, maybe? Not sure. If you look back to your 'old' animations, you'd notice a huge difference. Movements are fun, creative, energy full, but if you look at some of your recent stuff you may notice stiffness, unoriginality, awkward and unrealistic poses which completely contradict your 'realistic' argument.

Look at your new animation, for example. The stick is always looking down, with the head down his shoulders and plain hunchbacked. People don't move like that. The frame rate is ridiculously high and the spacing is fast. That's not a good combination.

I'm not a bubble burst-er, either, but in my years of experience, movements like that would not make you intermediate worthy. The whole point of this comment, is to imply you to go back to your old style. Why would you bother with many aspects that realistic animation takes when you can just move free, experiment, and have fun animating without worrying about such tedious things, or having to explain everyone about your main goal? That would be stressing, in my opinion.

Now let's get some more technical, here.

As I already mentioned, the torso is pretty out of balance with the rest of the body in the Parkour animations. Also, your movements look incomplete sometimes. Try adding more frames of easing and more frames between movements. For me, this is the most basic and important rule of pivot animation: Always, ALWAYS, move every joint in every frame. I know you are not a beginner, and that you are not new to this statement, but reconsider moving back to your old style and develop your ways without someone else's influence.

Show me some more, and by then, I'll tell if you are intermediate worthy.

Good luck!

very well said Rod
and agreed

i like the animations but im not all that fond of "realistic" effects.
it just seems better to have fun with what your doing without any planning (even though im making an animation based off something) and that its nice to stay original (yet again even though im making an animation based of something, though its for practice and to get some ideas of what to work with)
its just nice to work with originality more than it is with unoriginality.
also, if you just plan things out beforehand, it will just make you frustrated in your progress and may not like the outcome all that much
originality is beauty

as for the animation...

it WAS pretty fast and a bit stiff.

Hey Condog. I agree your older animations were better. Still your new ones are alright. The newest one I must say I didn't really like. The physics were everywhere on it. Dunno what else to say...lol.

Well the Head crushers seemed a bit powerless.

Try adding more slowdowns with easing and add some fast speed ups after easing to implement some power.
The movements were a bit weird and i dont have an idea why he jumped after he rolled, looks a bit messy.
Ease more and smooth it a bit.
TAKE YOUR TIME FOR ANIMATIONS, I ended up getting worser and worser because I didnt take my time, but now I put some effort in my Animations and they turn out very well.
Its was a little bit stiff in some parts and it looked a bit shaky, just a little bit.

All in all:
Pretty good but not very smooth and a bit too much heavy spacing.
Take your time from now on , k?
Its probably High beginner but your older ones were better.

Btw. We can probably start our Joint next week ( I hope my pc will be fixed until then).

Well, thats it.

@EVERYONE:
I hate to say this over and over, but if you want your CC in a Good CC thread, pm me.
Iīll put this one in the beginner thread as an Example.
