Bumping Older Threads?; Extending the time limit for bumping.

Since the forum is kind of winding down... a lot, why not extend the bump limit to say 2 weeks? I mean, I don't really see the harm in doing that. I've seen forums with 2 MONTH bump limits. So what harm could a few weeks do?

Btw, I'm not saying that we should limit it to 2 weeks necessarily, a month might be acceptable, personally.

And then there's the thing about exceptions to bumping. If you have something of value to add, why not add it? If we have something important to say on a pretty stale thread (we're talking about within the past month or so) that would contribute to the whole thing, shouldn't that be excusable?

Thoughts?

I personally agree. Since this forum is kinda becoming a hangout place, i think the bump limit should be extended. We should try it out, but if it becomes too pointless, then we should change it back.

No mod will lock the thread if your bump has a purpose.
If you feel like you need to bump and are not sure about it, just pm a mod and he'll do it , but bumping a thread shouldn't be a problem.

Well alright, Main. If you say so, I'll take your word for it, unless some other admin has objections.

There can be exceptions to bumps, its kind of an unwritten rule. If you wanna bump something and area actually adding to it then go ahead. I think the rule should still be in place for animation threads cause its kinda hard to add on to something after a while like that unless the thread owner asks you to comment or something.

We're fine with people adding to conversation, its when people are just like "lol lets bump this up again" and don't really add to it is where the issue arises.

Ah. Well you know, I just get cold feet when it comes to old threads and bumping. I think back to the days when I got like 3 raise warnings for bumping topics. And I'm relatively sure I added SOMETHING of value that we could still discuss. :| Plus, they were usually basically the "latest post in this section" threads.

So ever since then, I've stayed on my toes about old threads because the consequences and leniency were quite unforgiving.

But now that we're under what seems to be better jurisdiction, perhaps I can give it another go?

I'd be fine with that. If any of the other staff have an issue and give you a warning or something just bring it up to me and I'll take care of it.
