Here at Pkmn Academy we do not have a specific Battle System. However, we do have a few rules.

Control of Pokemon
When battling against a non-staff member you and your opponent decide whether or not your pokemon are hit by the moves. However, when in a Mod thread, the Staff decides whether or not the wild pokemon is hit and if your pokemon is hit. However, you may indicate a dodge but the staff may or may not adhere to the dodge and is completely up to them.

Dodging
When dodging your Pokemon must be able to perform the dodge. An oddish wouldn;t be able to Backflip etc. You also only get two dodges before you must get hit. You can increase that number by performing moves that increase Speed, such as Agility. It takes 3 Speed raising moves in order to get an extra dodge.

We do take Pokemon types and their psychical features into consideration. If a Pokemon is completely ghost like they will obviously phase through physical attacks like punches and kicks, however, a fire or ice blast will harm them. Rule of thumb is: Special attacks hit everything, normal attacks may not.

Linking Moves
Links otherwise known as Chains are when a Trainer commands his pokemon to perform more than 1 move at any one time. This is extremely advanced and reachs a limit of 3 moves per chain. Don't forget you do not decide whether your moves hit, so you can only state that IF a move hit's your pokemon will follow up with the next attack. DO NOT repeatedly perform chain moves as they are an advanced skill that real Pokemon Trainers use, your just a Student.

Staff Intervention
PM a Staff member when a Battle begins between two users and they will over look the battle and perform an intervention where they feel necessary.

Moves
Pokemon may only use moves that they can learn through Leveling Up. Use Serebii's Black & White Pokedex for the avaliable movesets. Your pokemon is restricted to a number of moves, and can use as many different moves as many times as they like. However, stamina needs to be thought about, we don't want a Bulbasaur performing 10 Solarbeams and still running around.
