Basically, I want everyone to post your ideas and plans regarding surviving the zombie apocalypse. Also feel free to tell others what might be wrong or ineffective with the ideas, as we ARE talking about survival here. Don't care about what you have access to or not, just your generally best survival plan. My plan is to travel in a group of eight people, because staying in a group is important, while traveling in big groups increase chances of unnoticed infections or panic attacks. I'm going to get a bus and a pickup, mount plows on them both, and change the glass with plexi glass. Also reinforce them. And use spiked tires/chains, so that terrain won't be a problem. On the pickup, I will add a tent over the back part of it, along with two benches, two machine gun turrets, ammo, a good car battery, cans of gas and a mini fridge for food and water. Three people will be placed in the pickup. In the bus, I will leave the front of the inside unchanged, as it's the drivers seat and stuff. Further back, all seats will be removed except for the seat in the very back. The long one that stretches from one side to the other. Also, possibly the four seats behind the drivers seat. In the back, in front of the "couch", I'll put a TV with video games. Entertainment is a good way to keep the moods up. Also a DVD-player. The tv will be mounted on a TV table, which will be mounted to the floor, with cables running though the floor, to the batteries in the room under the bus (the one where bags and such usually go). Two chests will be placed behind the seats in the front, where one will be filled with weapons and ammo, and one with other essentials such as medic kits and paintballmasks, and other clothes like that. Next to those will be a fridge, a regular one, tilted on the side to work like a chest. All of these will of course be mounted to the floor. Peoples bags will be placed under the seats in the back, and under the seats in the front. Four backpacks will always be packed and ready in case something happens and we need someone to leave the bus to do something. A good pc will always be ready with one of those small internet things, as I'm assuming the government will make internet free during an apocalypse as a mean of sharing news and such. Underneath the bus, in the room where bags are usually kept, there will be loads of powerful car batteries. Also something that allows them to be used as a means of power. A generator will also be there, in case it's necessary. A freezer full of supplies will be placed in here. Also spare parts and other items that there's no room for inside the bus. The aforementioned backpacks will contain the following items: A first aid kit tools simple supplies such as food and water a paintballmask two machetes two handguns with two extra mags for each in case main weapon runs out shotgun ammo sub-machine gun ammo a room for a shotgun on the side two smoke grenades, easily accessible a towel (you don't want zombie blood and gore on your body for too long) a flashlight batteries matches a walkie talkie a can of gasoline two molotov cocktails, ready to be used These items will make you able to move quickly, as they're not too heavy, while still being useful. The aforementioned paintballmask is to be worn at all times outside the bus, as they not only protect your face from zombie bites, but they also cover eyes, nose, mouth and ears from being hit with zombie blood and gore which will infect you if they enter your body in any way. Also, a person must always bring a shotgun and one, but preferably two, sub-machine guns. These things are to be worn by the people outside the bus: a pair of comfortable and warm pants a comfortable and warm jacket with a lot of pockets military boots paintballmask gloves kneepads a belt that can hold two sub-machine guns while leaving them easily accessible to the person two sub-machine guns (not worn, carried) shotgun (not worn carried) band-aids on EVERY wound, even if they seemed nicely sealed by clothes. Four people must always be awake and aware, one driving the bus, one driving the pickup and two in the back of the pickup. Every eight hours or so, they change. The four people in the bus will go out if food or such is needed from a town, or if, for some other reason, they have to leave the vehicles. Also, there are of course three known ways to kill a zombie. Destroying the brain, cutting the head off, cutting the connections from the body to the brain, and of course, my personal favorite, burning them. Edited by Sarn, Mar 4 2011, 09:23 PM.
