The young trainer, Adeline, could not sleep. She had rested way too much for the day, even if that crash took a lot out of her, eating helped a lot and replenished much of her energy. Feeling free like the wind in her new little outfit, she decided to take a walk. Darius didn't seem to be at the apartments, so she simply thought that he didn't mind if she'd go on a little innocent stroll by herself. However, this is because she forgot of the fact that she had no Pokémon to protect her at the time, but it was natural for her to think at least one was with her at all times. Her black shoes clacked on the pavement that lead into the forest, away from the apartments. Adeline loved nature. She couldn't help it, the air was so fresh and the night skies, so clear! It was as if she was dreaming, but is actually awake... Absentmindedly she wandered, too far away to hear the commotion of some kind of contest going on in the area. She sighed. "Reminds me of home, in a sense... When I'd visit Mount Coronet's forests all the time..." Adeline murmured to herself. For a while, she had been on this stroll. Possibly for five minutes. Her eyes were closed, taking in the fresh air, not seeing what exactly was ahead of her... Until she tripped on something and fell. It felt... Hard, sort of like a rock... But more like a shell. Soon, Adeline would wish this was all a dream as it felt so. There was an angry screech. The frightened trainer turned her head, to see an angry Ventipede staring straight at her. She sat up, scooting away from it. "S-sorry! I-I didn't mean to..." Her eyes widened when she saw dozens of pairs of yellow eyes with slit pupils in the darkness, and started to stagger up. "A-ah, you have friends... I-I'll leave! Really!-" Too late for that. Angrily, all of them in a swarm charged at her, shooting needles with poison at the tips at her. Shrieking, the girl ran, avoiding the dangerous projectiles, going deeper and deeper into the forest. If her outfit were to be torn and ruined again, she was bound to be upset. In a sense, she almost felt like this was planned. The only direction she was looking in was behind her, at the whole herd of Venipede shooting at her. Suddenly, they stopped, and she bumped into something much larger... Stepping back, Adeline looked up, and a bead of sweat went down the side of her head. 'Oh, no...' She thought. An enormous, towering Scolipede stared down at the puny human, being three feet taller than her. It seems that all of the little ones were bringing something to their master... Possibly food. The giant red centipede roared, reading its terrifying horns to jab into the human and inject poison, hoping to kill and devour. Adeline waited for it, until she heard a yell. "KARRRRRAAAAAAAA!" Another bug Pokémon, small, but a bit taller than the Venipedes, swung in on a large vine, yelling out a battle cry which had no translation whatsoever, thus is why Adeline only heard it as a shout of part of its name. It had black stubby arms and legs, small fangs, yellow, but daring eyes, and a horn on its head. "BLAST!" Once it let go of the vine, it dove at the larger Pokémon, its horn glowing a white color and smacking the Scolipede right in the face. A super-effective hit. Yet again, the Scolipede roared in fury. The tiny bug landed, looking determined and serious. The tinier bugs started to launch themselves both at the offender to their leader, and the 'fresh meat' they caught for it to feast on. Karrablast twirled around and started to swiftly hit some away with its horn aglow, but it was not enough to get them all. Scolipede was still distracted, seeing as Karrablast had jabbed it right in the eye. There was no other choice but to get the heck out of here. "Dear human! If you value your life, you will follow me! I shall lead you to safety!" Karrablast told Adeline, sounding rushed. His voice sounded quite odd for such a tiny Pokémon, it sounded noble... Sort of like a knight. Adeline nodded, and Karrablast lead her out, the Venipedes going after them. Eventually, the two reached what seemed to be a dead end. A river with quite deadly rapids flowed in front of them, and the Venipedes behind them. "Do not fret, madam, this is where we will be rid of these persistent henchmen! Grab onto this!" It hopped onto a vine that hung over the river, and swung back and forth for the human to reach it. Adeline grabbed hold, and both made it safely across to the other side. The Venipedes all skid to a halt, one fell into the river, shrieking as the river dragged it away. All of the others stared at each other and then decided it was best to retreat, but some started going down the river in attempt to retrieve their drowning comrade. Adeline sighed in relief, now crouching down and breathing hard. "Th-thank you..." Adeline said, looking gratefully at the brave bug. "After that, I think I'll stay away from the wild while alone..." Karrablast nodded, and bowed politely. "It was my pleasure, madam." Adeline found this bug to be quite amusing. She sighed. "Well, I better be going. Thanks again." She stood up, starting to head back out through the forest. "Wait!" Karrablast shouted, following after the human the best he could, what with its stubby legs and such. Adeline halted, turning towards the noble bug. What could he possibly want? "What is it?" She asked, looking down at it. Karrablast bowed sincerely. "Madam, I feel it would do you no good to go out there alone. Please, allow me to accompany you from now on? I find it quite interesting as well that you can understand my speech." Adeline blinked, feeling a tear in her eye, wiping it away. Was it now finally time to get a starter? Yes. She couldn't help but crouch down and drape her arms around it, pulling it into a hug. "Mad-" Karrablast was about to speak, but Adeline hushed it. "Yes, yes, I accept." Adeline smiled. "By the way, you don't have to call me madam..." She explained, a bit embarrassed. "I'm Adeline. Remember to call me that, okay?" The trainer then set the Karrablast down, digging into her miniature bag for a singular Poke ball. "Welcome to my team." She pressed the ball's button on Karrablast's forehead gently, and the Pokémon smoothly transferred into the ball with a beam of light. Instantly, the ball clicked. A critical capture, it seemed. Adeline strapped the bag around her again, and let Karrablast out of its Poke ball, having it sit on her shoulder. "I think it'd be best if you show me the way out, since you know the place better." Adeline explained. "As you wish, Ma--d---A---Adeline." Karrablast struggled, Adeline giggling as they made their way out. The human hoped she didn't bring too much attention to herself, with the screaming involved. Without any more danger, the two treaded on to the safer parts of the forest, since Adeline was still in the mood to walk. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (Adeline's first Pokémon, and this can also be an open RP. c:> yep. ) Edited by Erii, Apr 9 2011, 09:42 PM.
