It was a sunny morning, but a chill filled the air. It was late Fall, and Winter was coming soon. Despite the obvious chill, I still chose to wear my usual T-shirt and jeans, not worrying about the chill that permeated my bones. As I walked around town the people in their jackets and sweaters snickered and made comments to each other as I walked past. Let them have their comments I thought to myself as I walked past this pair of younger girls clad in the latest fashions from Hearthome City. While not unattractive, I preferred to wear plain clothes and not worry myself at remaining chic and on top of the current fashions. The day continued to unfold uneventfully as it has done these past few years. Something inside me was telling me that was about to change. As I walked past the Blackthorn Gym, headed by a childhood friend of mine, I noticed a white fluff curled up in the corner near the door. Lightly poking it, I was surprised when it moved and stood up to full height. It looked kind of like one of those, oh what were they, oh yes, a daikon radish. It looked up at me with its eyes, curious to this new person standing in front of it. It sniffed me a little bit before it decided to follow me. Hmm, this is new. After walking a bit the odd pokemon paused, it's eyes trained on the doors of the gym that just opened up. It was Clair, however something changed in her. She seemed more...sinister than she was when we were in school. Attractive as ever though. However, I had just noticed that the little pokemon was hiding behind my leg. "Hey, what are you doing with my Snover? Give it back." Her eyes glared at me with a piercing coldness that even caused me to shiver. "Judging from this pokemon's reactions, it doesn't want to go with you, it wants to stay with me." I remained as stoic as ever, even as the sky began to darken up above. "If that's how you're going to be, then I will have to take it back by force." Clair's right hand flashed to her waist and removed the lone pokeball she had resting there. A flash of light manifested in the form of a pokemon but I couldn't quite make out the shape of it... |

It was a Numel that had probably been having a magma bath in the gym just a few minutes ago! [5] 26/26

A numel. Hmm, this battle might be extremely difficult given the type advantage. As I decided on what to do next, a ball of sleet struck me, bouncing off my glasses. Looking skyward, I noticed the sky began to fill with small pellets of ice and the snover stepped forward, determined to fight. This thing certainly has courage, facing something that it has a severe disadvantage against. It was then I decided what to call the snover. "Indomitable. I shall call you Indomitable." The snover looked up at me, a gave a nod. "Go Indomitable, try using Powder Snow." The sleet quickly grew in size and became golfball-sized hail. So, this is the ability of Snover, Snow Warning. I noticed Clair's Numel flinch as the hail started to assault both combatants. Indomitable, however, seemed unfazed by it. In fact, it seems to enjoy the weather. |

Indomitable's Powder Snow managed a decent 5 damage, despite the type weakness. Numel used an Ember attack, which managed to hurt the Snover badly for 36 damage. Yeah, that's what would've happened if the Hail hadn't kicked in. Ember did 10 damage to Indomitable, and Hail did 3 damage to Numel in return. Snover - 16/26 [5] Numel - 18/26 [5] Weather: Hail |

It was a good thing that it's hailing. The hail continued to increase in intensity and soon I was covered with bruises and a rather jagged piece of it grazed my skin, causing a large cut to form on my forehead. Despite the odds stacked against it, Indomitable continued to stand firm against a much stronger opponent. "Change of plans. Let's try to hit it with a leer." "Snow!" The little creature moved in closer as it would only work if he was right next to his opponent. |

The Numel got frightened a bit by the Leer, but to negate the leer it used a growl attack. Numel got hit by the hail again, but Snover just enjoyed it more. Snover - 16/26 [5] -1 Atk Numel - 15/26 [5] -1 Def |

Well, to continue that method of attack is pointless. I should just stick with staying on the offensive." I decided to try out Indomitable's grass attack. "Indomitable, why don't you give it a taste of your razor leaf?" |

Razor Leaf hit for a critical 26 damage, causing Numel to fall. Snover gained a level and dug up 700PD. |

"Fine. Keep that Snover. A lot of good it will do you." Like that, she took off. The sky began to break as Snover's Snow Warning wore off and the sun was shining again. It began to warm up considerably and all the people who wore jackets and sweaters rushed to take them off. I allowed myself a cold smile before I moved to leave town. Idomitable had performed admirably, despite the severe disadvantage it faced. I had a feeling that I would be relying on its courage even more as time wound on. |
