As I entered Acreage Forest, I was greeted by a completely different atmosphere. The first thing I noticed was the smell. The air smelled so fresh, compared to the stuffiness of town. The foliage also provided a cooling shade but not so cold as to warrant a jacket. It was just right. If I had the choice I would live here the remainder of my days. Every time I tried to stop, I was prodded along by Idomitable who, despite being outdoors, still managed to chill me to the bone with his icy touch. "Hey, that's cold. What's the big rush anyways?" The chill went away as he stopped pushing me. "That's better. Hey, where are you going?" I barely managed to keep sight of him as he scurried off into the underbrush. I finally managed to catch him when he stopped as he caught whatever he was chasing after.

It seemed that Idomitable had found a lone Pidgey. The Pidgey looked angry and was ready to start a fight.

Again, just like in the battle against Clair, the sky began to darken and golf-ball sized hail began to fall. Luckily, learning my lesson the last time, I had managed to shelter myself under a tree while Idomitable squared off against a new threat. "Indomitable, use a powder snow!"

Powder Snow hit for 10 damage. Pidgey retaliated by using Tackle for 5 damage.

I knew this one would be over quickly. "Another Powder Snow."

This must be one of those super Pidgeys, that are immune to hail. A small chuckle later, I grabbed one of the five empty pokeballs I had in my pack and loosed it at the pidgey. I watched as the red and white sphere flew towards the hapless pokemon, sucking it inside.

(XD, Super Pidgeys...)

After the red light had subsided, and the ball was visoble again, it rolled around the floor for a few seconds... then stopped.

You have caught a Pidgey!

Satisfied with my first capture and with Indomitable's performance, I pressed on. The hail had stopped falling and he was returning to his normal, curious self. It was hard to keep up with him at times and more than once I had to stop to look for him. "Hey, will you slow down? I can't move as fast as you can." Indomitable stopped and looked back, and he waited patiently for me to catch up. "Finally. I'm tired from chasing you. Let's stop for a rest." I plopped myself down in a sunny patch of grass and took out one of the apples I had in my pack for a light snack. I cut it in half and gave to other half to my companion and he quickly climbed my shoulders and happily munched on his apple. I had gotten the strength back in my legs when I noticed I wasn't alone...

Apparently an Aipom was hiding in a tree nearby, trying to lob a berry at you.

"Ouch." I rubbed my head as a rather hard chesto berry struck. Irritated, I reached for the pokeball of the pidgey I had captured just a bit ago and released it for its first battle under a new trainer. "Taube, I want you to use sand-attack on that aipom."

Pidgey flapped its wings in some sand to partially blind Aipom, lowering its accuracy. It helplessly used Tackle but to no avail.

Taube flied up onto the branch and hit Aipom hard with a Tackle as hard as it could, 6 damage. Aipom tried another scratch and missed.

This new pokemon was doing quite well for its first battle. "Again, tackle it."
