I mean such as: - Converse shoes - American Eagle clothing - Abercrombie/Fitch clothing - Hollister clothing - Hot Topic - Flip phones And all the other clothing that's probably like $40 or more for something like mebbe a shirt. I'll go from the head down. Headwear, what's wrong with just buying a beanie or something instead of buying that $30 NY hat(like I see at my school, dunno about you guys)? Slave to trends. Shirts. You could get something just as nice at a USED clothing store, but no, you gotta have the brand name shit that's five times the price. Okay, belts. These really don't matter much, I'll just skip it. Pants. Nothing wrong with expressing yourself, but I got a nice pair of jeans hanging by a hanger over on my closet door and I probs didn't get it for too much, $10 perhaps. Yet I see jeans go for $20 and higher. HIGHER. Shoes. Here's the thing that made me think of this topic,
SEE WHAT I FUCKING MEAN?! Why can't you just buy a nice pair of shoes for $15-$25 instead of buying something like a Converse, or Jordan's, I dunno what, for, what, $100 or something? They're just footwear... damn. Edit: Forgot accessories. These really don't cost much in most cases so I don't care about them. The simple answer to this is: "people want to express theirselves" but for what cost? WHAT COST?! People are just encouraging inflation every minute with this slave to trends shit. Discuss. |

Converses - Yeah, spend over $50 extra on comfort. Flip phones - I'm not even sure why I included that actually, that's one fad someone can't prevent. Live Strong Bands? - I didn't even mention those... and I never see them around anymore anyway. Dunno about you. |

lets see, only trendy shoe i ever had was a sketchers(actually I liked that pair I had) I buy my jeans for about as cheap as I can find them, could care less if they were levi or some junk. shirts, I'm a girl that scours the mens department for shirts on clearence if that tells you something, headgear, give me a regular old baseball cap anyday, I'm good. |

I rarely ever wear a hat as is. my senior jacket has a hood, I'm fine. Want to express being an HS senior, who cares right? that covers shirt also for most apart aside from my Brewers, LoZ, and such others taht I like. Shoes....eh, they'll get dirty, not crapping out $50 for a pair Jewelry, got none |

Hats, I never wear them. I just don't really like how they either get in the way, or irritate my head. Shirts, I don't stress to much about, if it's cute, it's fine. I don't care what brand it is or where I got it from. Jackets, I don't really care where I buy my jackets at as long as I like them. Though I do love the jackets that I'll never be able to get at Hot Topic. xD Pants, I don't think I own any top brand pants. The only pants I currently have are low brand skinny jeans, those do range about $20 though, so I don't even have many of those. Shoes, I own one pair of DCs that I never wear, and some high tops I got at a used clothing store. Just about all my clothes are from a used clothing store, or DDs Discounts. I've never bought any shoes at a shoe store. Only pricey shoes I ever had to buy were my white marching shoes for $25, which I HATE with a passion now. Jewelry, I just like bracelets, but I hardly ever buy them. I mean only jewelry I'm wearing atm is a Diamond Bracelet that Angel got me for my birthday [[I don't deserve it!]], a black butterfly necklace from Christian for my birthday, and I non-real diamond studded butterfly necklace from Angel for Christmas. ^^;;;; |

My turn then, Hats never wear. Shirts, I've gotten three $10 shirts in the last week or so. Like those comedy t-shirts with something funny on them. Yeah, those. Those pretty much suffice for me. Pants, I own some slacks for school and four pairs of jeans. I might get more jeans since some of my jeans are pretty tight. Shoes, I own a black pair of Starters. Those have lasted me a good while. I might actually succumb to trend slavery soon though and get a pair of Converse, but those are just comfortable according to two people. I always thought it was just because they look apparently good. And jewelery, don't wear it. Might get some necklaces or chains just for fun though. So whatever.

Uh... I'm looking at Target and I'm seeing them from $25-$35. The converse website's store has them for 5x more than that too($100+?). *cough* Edit: Well, that's just mens. Not really sure about womens. |
